It'll be a good thing. That slime ball of a CEO at Activision only cared about profits. He had a clause upon hiring that if he got Activisons stock price to a certain point for a certain amount of time he got a bonus that was in the 100's of millions. I figure that's why they don't pay for licensing fees for the weapons. Microsoft isn't stingy. It'll be for the better

I read Sony are buying up Bungie. I wonder if that’s a pressured move after Microsoft’s move and I wonder what the outcome will be for gamers.

It does seem like a bit of retaliation, but then when you think that these acquisitions take months, sometimes years to come to fruition surely it's just a coincidence? Weird.

All CEO's are the same , Activision / Microsoft / Sony they all only bothered about the share price . However some corporations realise that rewarding the staff and keeping them motivated and on side will  for sure increase the share price .

I’m wondering where the game market will be. There’s some great indie developers and they seem to be coming on strong but I’m wondering what the outcome for COD or the other well known FPS games will end up. Perhaps COD will be as it is now and they move on so it’s kind of like counter strike and how that went. Very uncertain times at the moment.

Yeah for sure, big opportunity for indie developers to make some waves I reckon! It'll be interesting to see what the future holds.

Hopefully CoD can get back to its former glory in the future :)

I like CoD every so often but haven't really bought most of them, so it'll be fun to play them on Game Pass.

Sony have said that Bungie are the first of many. Still don't get why Sony would want Bungie and why Microsoft would sell Bungie.

Microsoft hasn't owned Bungie since 2007, and the Activision deal hasn't finalized so they still didn't.

Wasn't aware that they were their own company.

Bungie I believe even under MS contract was always an independent type developer. Basically the same deal they worked out with Sony. Bungie is a good developer. Even though they are not the same developer that started Halo they still have there own visions and talents.

Imo the reason Bungie left Halo was so they could start there own game on there terms. And im sure Bungie was tired of MS at some point. Bungie was really only hired on to develop a Trio of games for MS Studios. Which was three.  So Bungie did stick around for more Halo games even after there Trio. So id imagine by then they were burnt out from Halo as well and MS didnt want it to end.. So thats where 343 was formed to take over. And really 343 first game they did on there own was the MCC.. And we see how that turned out. It may have been the worst most broken game in history..

I was surprised as well though at Sony making a deal with Bungie. Just as surprised as I was with MS buying Activision.. If anything I figured just the opposite. MS making a deal with Bungie. And Sony making a deal with Activision.  Im curious to see how this all plays out for both tbh.. Will be very interesting to see this all unfold..

Im not entirely sure if this is for the good or bad. But time will tell..

Theres alot of money being thrown around..  COD really must pull in alot of money on itself. So maybe MS wanted to get in on it. They clearly see something.. Halo is a non factor in this anymore.. Sure they have there high points but Halo really has not been the same since Bungie left..  When 343 released Infinite they looked completely drained and depressed.. It looked like the team just didnt have it in them.. And what they did have was completely gone after Infinite.. There passion and excitement was clearly gone. They said they did the best they could.. And I believe they truly did.. But it just doesnt show the works of 6 plus years.

Sorry for the extra ramble! lol. We are into some very changing times as gamers..

Cod definitly pulls in butt loads. I haven't really gamed since Xbox 360 and started playing MW2019 at the end of Season 0. I find it amazing that no matter what day, what time, what holiday, what month there's always people on. It's a fact that MW2019 and Warzone really fu*c*ed up the road map for the next releases, content, dev cycle and a bunch of other stuff.

Warzone was supposed to be a 1 year lot lizard. Treyarch was suppose to release Black out 2 and this was the game plan probably. Warzone simply didn't get coded for long term support. I remember the continous outrage against Joe Cecot and that Community Manager chick from Infinity Ward just getting railed from Twitter, Reddit, their own forum, relenetlessly because of the lack of communication. Then we get the dumpster fire that's known as Cold War dumped on us on a different engine, poor weapons integration across the various games, and medicore content. Then random story lines that sit right up there with Lost in the what the fuck are you guys doing department. It seemed Activision was just there to collect the money and fuck the community. And boy are we all wrong.....here me out, my theory get's shit on over in Reddeleteit, but Activision's been playing the long game all along.

So the beautiful work of art that Infinity Ward built, MW2019, if you haven't played the game at 1440p or higher, don't comment. It's sad really. It's one of the best looking games out there and most people will never know it. I know the maps are wonky, the guns are unbalanced, the SBMM destroys the game, but that stuff aside they really built an incredible game. I know it had it's issue's but the silence from IW and the absence of fixes wasn't their fault. There was a schedule laid out and the popularity of Warzone and MW2019, fucked all that up. Activision knows it...but game dev takes a lot of work and time and it was to late for Cold war and Vanguard. So Activision shuffled the dev cycle around, dropped Black Out 2, put Raven in damage control with Cold War, put Sledghammer on Vanguard, gave Treyarch their baby, Zombies, and best of all put Infinity Ward in a spot to work on MW2022/Warzone 2 for close to 3 years. It was to late to change Cold War and Vanguard. Even being on the MW engine, is ok, but it's not MW2019 polished, it was slapped together to just be a filler game.

And now, I believe...I hope, out of all the frustration, crashes, alt+F4's, Activision actually made the right move for once. I think our bitching didn't fall on deaf ear's, just mute mouths. They listened. They adjusted. And for fuck's sake, we better get one of the best fucking FPS arcade shooters that we've been long deserving of.

But seriously, as someone who hasn't gamed in a very long time. I really am thankful for MW2019. I've met some incredible people through the game, built the PC of my dreams that I've dreampt of since I built my first one when Windows Xp was still in beta. Even in times when I'm frustraded with it, no matter what other game I play, doesn't come anywhere close to how much I truely enjoy it. So thank you to all you shitters and slide canceling sweats, you've made a dent in this guys life. I'm not a man of religion but for the love of god Activision. Please don't let me sound like a rambling idiot. GG's all, you shit cans.

I agree with this. I think MS taking over Activision will be a good thing. I was a Halo crackhead on 1, 2, and 3. After that it just never interested me much. I was pretty excited with the new one but it's not the same I remember. Honestly though, I think MW2019 ruin that for me. Between life, college, being in my 20's, meeting my fiance 11 years ago, work, I haven't played anything more than solitaire on my phone haha. I was laid off at the end of Season 0 of MW2019. Saw some youtube videos of Wildcat and them putting claymores on drones and it peaked my interest. I got hooked. The movement, the gunsmith, the graphics quality, the speed, the community and the friends I've made through it, the open mics, there's just nothing like it, that I've tried at least.

Halo was great, the new game is alright, but it's just not Cod. Bobby Kotick really hurt the Cod triliogy for the time being, but I really think they are on the right track right now. Them moving around the dev's for damage control on CW and Vanguard, and giving IW almost 3 years to work on their baby, I hope is going to be a beneficial step foward for the series. Sony buying Bungie was a real shocker. I feel like sony is kind of in a sticky spot. Like all they have is their console. With Microsoft now, having a very close relationship with AMD, having a major dev house, providing Directstorage and DX12 api, they are going to have every part of the gaming sector in their hands. It was an odd thing for Sony to do.

"We are into some very changing times as gamers...." I can't wait till DirectStorage starts getting implemented. Gaming will be 1000 times different than what it is now. The next 2 years are going to be probably the best in the whole industry has ever seen. GG's

Theres gonnabe no CoD game next year. This is good news.

Apparently the exec's made this decision due to Vanguard being shit and not selling well.

Its about time they realised peoples are sick of their shit.

Problem with Vanguard is that you might as well play MW.

personally I am getting fed up with some of the predatory tactics. Extremely slow weapons XP to sell more bundles, SBMM etc.

I have been playing Titanfall 2 Northstar on PC lately. Great game, no SBMM and private servers. All weapons unlocked. Brings me back to the days of Quake and Unreal Tournament.

Did you ever play on the wireplay servers back in the old days of Quake II ?
