FlexJ
hey guys love The R1!! I'm needing help!! as i'm having problems when i start streaming my Ps4 gameplay through the Pc via the Elgato hd60s which records PS4/ xbox. my problem is when start streaming i can not get a good connection as my bullets are rubber banding. not registering. and is frustrating. but when i dont live stream i get awesome connection? i have done multiple tests on dslreports and my ping is 12ms with a 2 ms buffer and get A+ across board. but that's not whilst i'm gaming as it would kick me out of the game. my sliders are set at 70% down and 90% as my ISP is BT braodband and get 76 down and 20 up. hyper traffic is turned on. could you please help. kind regards John M. I'd assume you need to mess with the congestion control to try and get it spot on. Mine's always on 70/70 but I don't stream so maybe someone else who does can help you better. Hi, welcome to the forum! Device Prioritisation is useful for streaming and gaming at the same time. Set your PC and console to a higher percentage on Device Prio and turn on Share Excess. (Make sure to set this up for Upload as well). It sounds like all your other stats are fantastic. What happens when your in-game ping when you're streaming? It might be worth running a PingPlotter test whilst you're streaming to see how much your ping is affected.

RL317
Assuming your bandwidth doesn't fluctuate much (I know mine doesn't on BT Infinity) I'd suggest dropping the upload slider to match the download at 70%, then use device prio as suggested above to prioritise the PC. I'd assume you're probably streaming at 720p60 max since that's basically standard for the best YouTube streams, so I'd recommend 50% prio for the PC for both upload and download. Gaming on PS4 rarely uses more than 500Kb, if that, so you wouldn't need to increase the bandwidth the PS4 gets. Just go 70% both ways on the sliders, 50% for both tabs on the PC and then leave share excess on. If you want to guarantee your PC gets enough bandwidth (especially if you're on 1080p), start up a stream and then check the bandwidth monitor. Then load up a CoD of your choice, click show dormant hosts on the geofilter, connect to online services, click the UK server dot and ping it to see if it gives you almost as much stability as you see when not streaming. I'd suggest killing two birds with one stone by testing this on IW. You can check your ping to the UK server and then start a game and see if streaming gives you hexagon symbols. Not sure why they removed those game health icons after the WW2 beta because I know for a fact there are as many skipping packet dropping terminators on WW2 as there are in IW... FlexJ
IIRL I will give that a go as I’ve just ended my stream was a lot better but in some gun fights I was still loosing to smgs from distance even tho I had the new heroic goat 2. I will streaming from 130pm tomorrow GB time and I stream at 1080 60fps. Kind regards John

I haven't even tried streaming and WW2 was so busted and laggy on 7ms ping to the UK that I uninstalled and haven't touched it since November. Everyone stutters, enemies deal damage spikes where three shots hit you at once, and my bullets just go through their chests lmfao I think I saw one of your streams briefly once because I recognise your name. Did you do a Netduma setup vid? I think I went from that to an IW stream and saw you had hexagons, but I swear you were on Virgin Media? I thought "typical VM cable, pile of shite"

FlexJ
ok so i did a ping plotter and got 44% packet loss to my netduma? is this right?
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted January 26, 2018 Netduma Staff Share Posted January 26, 2018 Put the 'Interval' on 2.5 instead as there is a bug with PingPlotter with lower intervals showing packet loss. Also, pay more attention to the graph at the bottom. If there are no red bars on that we're golden. If you could get a screenshot instead or a clearer picture that'd be awesome
FlexJ
hi jack the picture i have will not upload as it says file is to large :-/ plus i have now ordered new ethernet cables 0.5m long which come tomorrow hopefully it will sort out the packet loss to the R1?? current setup is wall socket to netgear D7000 then R1 - PC,PS4 and Ps3 is connected. all hard wired in. so all ethernets are getting replaced. ;-) and if using ping plotter what server am i pinging? if i game on PS4? as the duma doesnt show me the I.P address of the main server. kind regards john
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted January 26, 2018 Netduma Staff Share Posted January 26, 2018 Ethernet cables are a likely culprit so this could well fix the issue. Please let us know how it goes You'll want to ping Twitter.com or a local news site using PingPlotter. Do this when you're not gaming / downloading for a clear indication of your line. RL317
That's just a graphical error mate. Setting interval to 0.5s or sometimes 1s shows packet loss on the first hop that isn't really there. Try a 2.5s interval plot to confirm. Otherwise all looks good

FlexJ
hey guys. just an update. i reinstalled the software to 1.03.6g i did a private stream outputting at 720P 60fps with all my applications open (obs/ you tube/ twitch/ re-stream/ streamlabs and spotify) the CC was on 100% then i did a DSL report and then changed the CC to get my best values and this is my settings for BT infinity 75 download and 20 upload with a base ping of 11ms: changed the reactive algorithm to preemptive. With the CC set at 50% download and upload at 60% share excess on and all devices have the same values in the prioritisation. strict mode on with a ping assist of 30ms and a radius of 1099km . misc settings are everything turned off except Upnp and cookies. and i dont use hyper traffic. youtube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiHq73lYbd4 watch from 2:23:36 thanks guys john
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted February 13, 2018 Netduma Staff Share Posted February 13, 2018 That seems like a great stream John, looks like you're all set up. Are you still having issues after reinstalling the firmware? It doesn't seem that you are from that stream, so I'm really glad if that did solve your problem. I'll keep that solution in mind for anyone else with your issue
