b00stg0d
Ok so I finally did this swap. LOL Why on earth Sony didn't use SSD to begin with is beyond me. I swapped out for a 1TB EVO SSD. Dude GTA loads so fast it's insane. Bo3 LITERALLY.... I spawned in so fast I had the first domination point capped before anyone spawned in, maybe 2 guys spawned and made it to me as I capped. Was insane.
BIG__DOG
yeah, me and nfxcr3w both swapped ours for an ssd, so much smoother and faster. like being ahead of the rest of the players

RADDY1993
I have been looking and as RedBull said the Samsung 850 Evo looks to a good choice, i amd gonna get a 250GB for my PS4 next week, i know 250gb is not a lot but i only have the IW betea on it and once released i will just have IW. Heres the SSD https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00P736UEU/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

b00stg0d
i think i went with a hybrid drive Yea, I tossed it around because of the price difference. Probably would have seen just as much performance with the SSHD but in the end I just couldn't pull the trigger on the hybrid.
iAmMoDBoX
Samsung is the best for SSDs at the moment because they make the controllers, firmware, and NAND, so they have more control of everything in the process and therefore have the fastest consumer grade drives. Enterprise is a whole different story. Think of Samsung as the Apple of SSDs right now. They control everything, therefore they offer the best end user experience. Slipknot31286sic6
Well you'll never get full speeds on Evo in ps4 anyways. Saving 30 bucks for crucial. Probably be worth . Real world results vary by. 02 seconds. Who cares about bench marks in a throttled ps4. Not I. If it was my gaming pc. Yesh. Evo. Maybe ps5 will be better but by then prices should be low per gig. Meh found Evo 500gb on ebay 120, after PayPal credit for it for 100. Couldn't find a crucial cheaper. Got lucky. See what this baby can do. Slipknot31286sic6
All I got to say is Wow u were right. Damn 5 seconds or less maps load on bo3. Resume power is like instant. No studdering or frame drops, Went with the Evo. Should have done it sooner. Ps4 is like a completely different system.
fuzzy clam
From what I understand it doesn't help with gameplay thou, just loading into game, rebooting etc.I can see where it would be helpful on other titles but just for COD,ummm still not sure about it. Have been thinking about it for a few months as I know nfx really likes it and loved the results he's getting.Still kicking it around but good to know other people are liking the results their getting. Macabi83
Just recently upgraded mines this week fuzzy, the ps4 feels like another system now, its so snappy and responsive, no more menu lag, super happy with it.
Slipknot31286sic6
Fuzzy trust me it is might not day. I also noticed when rng on nuke town. Always remember to studdering and lag. Non existant. Load screen is like 4 seconds. It's night n day. Everything is so much smoother. Should have done it a long time ago. 500gig for 100 bucks is cheap. For ssd. Tell ya fuzzy u won't go back. I was extremely skeptical since a 2tb 5400 is like 80 bucks.

Slipknot31286sic6
I don't know, I'm still out on this one... I've noticed also that bo3 plays way smoother and I notice less wtf moments but it's too soon to tell for me.Lot less wtf. Yes still happens but more lag comp. Definitely can tell the difference. Think most ppl push sshd and 2tb 5400 rpm cuz they under 100. But Damn if u have money for ssd. Just do it. Stop watching YouTube videos saying only 1 second difference. It's sure as hell not. It's way better. Used to be like 40 seconds sometimes to get in bo3 match, 4 seconds? Huge difference. System is much more responsive, no delays when game is running and using msgs or PS menu. Just do it. U will thank us later. 512gb is like 105 bucks on eBay crucial 525gb 500gb Evo is 130 Over 200 for 1tb. . I'm fine with 500 for cod and gta. Other games seem to be play for a week n delete. Plus downloading games don't see that long hour or 2. I also noticed. Downloading 3 games and patches. All dl was smooth 6MB 3 downloads. Other HD wouldn't do that
RedBull2k
If you have DLC map packs, or the game is on ssd these will load considerable quicker. The game textures is the biggest difference, no waiting for textures to load and images on screen look clearer when looking left to right etc. I have also been able to get to the other side of the map to spawn rape em for when they first join. ColonicBoom
I have also been able to get to the other side of the map to spawn rape em for when they first join. Are you saying that with an SSD it allows you to spawn in before the other team, walk to the other side of the map and be ready to kill them when they first spawn in? I call bullshit. sncjez
I don't want to sound like a damp rag but if your on budget and need more space go for a 1TB SSHD for 70 quid cheaper than a 500 gb evo both are quicker than the stock ps4 drive. I recently added a Seagate sshd to my ps4 as this is the only ps4 we have in the house so much sharing is involved. My point is don't feel like you need to spend a lot more money over a hybrid to think you will get an advantage because you won't.
