Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 28, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2016 Change your security mode to PSK2. Someone on the forum experiencing issues when wireless devices were located near the router. You could try moving any away from the router and see if that resolves your issues. baz6578
Yeah I'd already read somewhere in the forum and tried it. No joy.
konvict
Hi, I had a similar issue to this, have you tried a factory reset on your R1? I did this and it has been fine since, no dropouts or anything. http://forum.netduma.com/topic/17439-having-to-reboot-my-r1-daily/
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 29, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2016 You tried security mode and moving devices away? Factory reset from misc settings as above and see if that resolves your issue.
baz6578
i have tried a factory reset, rebooting from misc, changed to wpa-psk2 but it still drops out. this time it did it so i rebooted and it forgot everything from disabled ipv6 options to devides connected. had to basically enter all info again from connection speeds to congestion. the only device even close to it is the black sky hub. Zennon
I would move the sky hub away from it and make sure the WiFi is off on the sky hub.
ColonicBoom
Hi Baz (it was you I ran into on BO3 on Xbox I think!). Don't know if you've tried this already but have you run a wifi scanner to pick the least congested channel near you? I was shocked by how many of my neighbours were hammering the same two channels and I saw an immediate improvement when I changed the broadcast channel. It's easy to do if you have a Mac, not sure about PCs, I expect Zennon knows a good piece of software for the PC to do it. I've got a feeling Apple devices work better (range) on different broadcast channels too but I might have imagined it.
PharmDawgg
Just a suggestion: If you have an existing router prior to the R1 I would use it as an access point for all of your wireless needs. That way you will be able to have access to 2.4Ghz as well as 5Ghz channels. Setup would look something like this Modem>R1>Other Router as Wifi Extender(Access Point). baz6578
i tried two different channels and both went off on wifi. i then turned off the netduma as a test for the last 2 days and ran the house off just the sky hub and it never went off once. i have looked in this loads in forum and wiki but there are so many different little things to do that i could well have missed something. we are now set up running everything through the duma again and i have set the sky hub as instructed to on here e.g dmz, wan and lan, wireless off etc
