Monzo
Ok. I have talked to my ISP (Optimum) and we did some tests to see whether me changing the modem was gonna make a difference or not, and it didnt. I changed the modem to a really good modem and i still cannot get into games where everything is crystal clear like others with this router experience. One thing that I was not told by you guys, which makes me very upset that nobody has mentioned settings changes, is that if I'm paying for higher speed internet, that I should not be using preemptive. I used reactive and I was able to get an A+ from DSL, but my issue still stays the same where everything isnt making any sense within the gunfights. I have watched everyone else videos on how their games are going with the netduma and they seem to have crystal clear gunfights in which the killcam goes with what actually happened during the gunfight. I have had enough with this problem and at this point, because the router is not doing what it's supposed to do, I want to ask If i could receive an entire new Netduma Router for free, and for someone to help me set up the new router PROPERLY to go along with what modem I pay for and so that my games go the way that they should. My ISP said it was definitely the router, and for a second I didn't believe them, but after doing some tests of my own, I'm agreeing with them 100%. I paid $200 dollars for this router and have spent so much more money afterwards on other products bcause I have been told that my router is not the problem etc. And after all that it turns out that maybe my router is the problem. If any of you could, I only ask if I could receive a new netduma router with updated firmware and for you guys to help me set it up properly according to the speeds that I pay for the game to have crystal clear gunfights. I hope you understand that I am just sick of this problem and have been putting up with it for way too long and this definitely needs to change within the next couple weeks. Thank you. My ISP said it was definitely the router, and for a second I didn't believe them, but after doing some tests of my own, I'm agreeing with them 100%. I'm just going to point a few things out, I'm not here to spark a riot and I'll try not to be too harsh but some harshness is required... 1. The wiki is very clear about internet speeds and 'pre-emptive' vs 'reactive', it's one of the very first things in the wiki (setup guide). Everybody should follow the wiki when they set up their Netduma the first time. And they should return to it when they don't know what an option relates to. There are countless posts in the forum about the two anti-flood algorithms, there's probably a thread or two (or fifty) dedicated to it, so it would be very simple to find out by searching the forum or asking in a new thread. It boggles the mind that you have been a member of this forum for over a year (so you know how the support threads work) and you have not looked into that option when you must see it literally every time you switch your anti-flood between gaming and 'normal use' (70/70 or so, and 100/100) You have no right to be 'upset' that nobody mentioned this, you owe it to yourself to take responsibility and to at least attempt to learn. 2. You're playing Call of Duty, a whole lot of stuff doesn't make sense. For ALL OF US. 3. You can't base anything off of videos other people upload, everyones connection is different, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot, and most peoples' connections change to some degree frequently. The majority of the time youtubers don't upload videos where they suck or the game plays badly because nobody wants to watch it. If you watched all of my games, of which I upload none, I expect that half of the them would appear to be exactly like what you're seeing. 4. "So that my games go the way they should". Sorry, brutal I know, but basically you think your better than you are. I get it - so do I. It's rarely my fault when I die, it's lag, it's their lag, it's the server, it's lag comp, it's the game, etc. I rant frequently in game and I swear a lot. Ditch the lobby, move on to the next, try again. But we watched your video before and their was nothing weird about it, your deaths were legit, you missed and you died. Several people said this but it wasn't what you wanted to hear so you have disregarded it. 5. Of course your ISP told you it was the router, they aren't going to tell you that your line sucks or that you keep missing your target in CoD. As everyone knows, I have two lines from different ISPs. One plays well most of the time, one is not useable for online gaming (not at all, it's terrible). The terrible ISP said "the line is working great", they suggested "your third party equipment might be at fault, why don't you reboot it". I don't know if your line is bad or your setup is wrong (didn't you have a 1 to 1 about it already) but I expect it's one of those two options or it's simply that you won't accept how BO3 plays for the majority of people. Me included. What tests did you do that make you agree with your ISP? 100% suggests that your tests were very thorough. You left that info out of your post..? I assume that you didn't test without the Netduma in the network and then see perfect results game after game because you would have just said that. I'm really not trying to cause a fight here (believe it not) and I do feel your pain because I see a lot of weird stuff myself in BO3 - more so than I remember from any other CoD. But in my opinion, having seen your video (and you did say that that video was what you normally see) you don't even have an issue to resolve. Monzo
I get what you're saying. But my point is that you guys said it was the line, they're saying it's you. I don't want to start a fight, which is not what i came here for, I came here with a problem that I talked to you and the ISP for. The isp did a test where they connected my devices straight into the modem and said the connections were better and also connected it to the router and the connection was worse when plugged into the router.I have basically done everything else to try and fix the problem with no hope. If i were to show you other peoples videos and compare it to another one of my videos, you would see that there is something wrong on my end and it needs to be fixed immediately as I can not take the anger and stress anymore. Look, about the wiki, I always fall back to the wiki when something went wrong, and the wiki didn't fix anything but only made it worse. I do everything step by step and afterwards, its the same (excuse my language) shit over and over again and nothing changes. That's why i'm saying that I should get another router for free, and after i get a new router, an admin will sit down with me on the computer and help me set everything up with all the settings to make sure that I get much better games then I'm getting and thats it. I want nothing else but for things to work better, but I can't get anywhere with the way we have been doing this. I'm sorry, but after doing all tis testing for the past 6 months, i think that this is definitely a router problem. If anything, another appointment should be made or something so that we can adjust the settings so that everything is smooth and works fine. if not, then I want a new router sent to the house and to have an appointment made with fraser or someone else to get on my computer and adjust the settings. ColonicBoom
Ok, I get you. I'm glad you didn't take my post badly - for once I was actually trying to be a bit more diplomatic than usual (I know I'm not good at it). I'm just a Duma user like yourself so I obviously don't have any authority over that sort of thing, Fraser will see your post tomorrow though and will tell you what's what regarding that. I appreciate how you feel though and I know it sucks when gaming isn't fun (and it's extremely frustrating and stressful). But I really wouldn't trust any ISP when they tell you something like that (or ever actually), they will flat out lie through their teeth to get away from dealing with anything or paying any money. I'm sure Fraser or Crossy or one of the others will be happy to do a 1on1 with you and hopefully they can help with the situation. Good luck and stay chilled, I hope you get back to enjoying shooting people in the face soon (it sounds like a really unsavoury hobby when put like that). And don't have no hope

Urge
Honestly. I'd quit worrying with it. Not the router, but the thought that maybe one day you'll be as crisp as a pro. 2.65 K/D if i remember correctly. Your vid didn't look bad at all. Already had a 1 on 1 and things were okay. I can't tell you how to feel or think of things, But the problem is over thinking it. You are already a great player with the stats and video you've shown. And we all have wtf moments.. even those pro's. When you quit chasing that elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow you'll be much happier. Monzo
True, but it seems now that every game i get into, i basically get completely destroyed because of gunfights thats didn make sense. My KD is not the same anymore because i keep getting put into games that are either unfair or the gunfights dont make any sense every game i get into. I havent had one good game all day today and my KD has dropped dramatically. Now ive noticed that most of the games i get into are with dedis. is there a way to prevent myself from getting into a dedicated server game? Monzo
but ive noticed that i do better on games that are p2p like black ops 2 was. Could you show me how to get rid of the dedis to see if that will fix at least part of it?

Could you show me how to get rid of the dedis to see if that will fix at least part of it? This is how I would do it, not that I would dream of it as its just full of host migrations and dash boarding and our Azure dedi's play great on the whole. On xbox the European dedi is in Ireland for us. I set to strict put my geo over the uk only with a ping assist of 0 and wait.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 5, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 5, 2016 The WiKi states about the algorithm to be used. Also if you're on the latest version which you should be by now, putting in your speeds and allowing it to auto setup will set it to reactive. As said above, everyones connections/experiences will be different. I'm pretty sure the router is doing what it's meant to do, getting you low ping games - I think if I remember correctly your average ping was 30ms to a game. Correct me if I'm wrong. A new router won't resolve anything, the one you have now isn't broken (and should be on latest upgrade). I did go back after reading this and watched your entire gameplay in full, I didn't notice any "BS" moments. Slowing down the video you can see on some kills that may be considered "BS" that you missed. I notice you do what I do and constantly look at the scoreboard, after a death, after a kill etc. Slowing noticing your KD getting worse, then you rush more and it keeps happening and at that point you are at full rage. When that happens you play worse. I'm not hating, I do the same thing and I noticed the same signs in your gameplay. Anyways, looking back at your threads I didn't notice you providing screenshots so could you do that please according to: http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=lag_support_instructions

When that happens you play worse. That's me described almost perfectly as well - the only bit you missed is my swearing and shouting and commentating on the bs-ness of every death to the great annoyance of my team mates. And the obligatory message that I send after the game that gets me my repeated communications bans. I'm currently in my longest stint without a ban, about 6 weeks I think. Monzo
Ok, I see where you're coming from Fraser. Tbh I shouldn't have given you that video because I looked back at it and it wasn't the greatest video to show what I'm really talking about. But it seems that every game is the same where I literally get crapped on all the time. Like I said before I've seen games by other players where their connection is clean and crisp. Again I know they only use limited gameplay but again I don't get how I can't get those kinds of games. Now I'll ask again, I'm on ps4, so how do I properly set the geo filter to be set up for host games and not dedi servers? And if possible, if you wanna try to help me further, could we make a second appointment with the use of DSLReports to try and get BB and Quality to A+? And boom thanks for making my day lol I know you weren't trying to be funny with that comment, but it was good again any help is appreciated

Make sure that there are no dedis in this area or you will connect to it. Enable strict. Disable ping assist (set it to zero). And then wait for a game. That's it. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 8, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 8, 2016 Looking pretty good, decent line, not fluctuating too much. Low consistent ping to game server. Don't know what your congestion control is on but should be 70/70 with console in hyper traffic. Otherwise the duma appears to be performing as it should be. Monzo
ok thats good, but it seems like for me 70/70 isnt good for my connection for some reason. Like I said, I use DSLReports to determine what a good Congestion Control Setting is, and it says that 70/70 isnt a good CC setting for me.
