TheTerpinator710 reacted to DanologyUK in It's been almost two months since the last update. When can we expect fixes for issues, we are all struggling with?
Did all the other posts about this not help to answer your question?

Sure, but what's the point of opening another similar topic if to date there isn't a solution, in that topic I put all the information, tests and videos but already on the R2 beta there is that problem and it has never been corrected, I just wanted to respond to the disappointed user, like me, who spent 230 euros on a router and almost nothing works.

TheTerpinator710 reacted to Netduma Fraser in What's has a "fix" on the "NEW" firmware ?
Everyday we're getting closer, we're not going to rush it though, the more stable it is the happier people will be

why should others need to make new topics when theyre having the same issues?

Congestion control just doesn’t work.. and I’ve been trying to say that.. something is wrong..
ive said this before, I’ve tried many different percentages on CC and nothing, I mean nothing works.. 50/50, 60/60, 70/70, 80/80, 90/90 and 100/100.. nothing works..
at this point I give up..

As I mentioned before, I really wouldn't get bogged down in a rating because you won't get bufferbloat with Congestion Control enabled anyway. The only way to ensure a good result is disable/remove any priorities, disable Speed Test Bypass and fine tune/trial/error the percentages until you get the best result

Right.. first 2 weeks were great.. same with hit reg and such.. but recently it seems like I’m using a $50 router lmao. It sucks..
Starting to think I may need a RMA.. idk.

Have you connected another device to your modem and checked whether it can connect to the Internet?
Maybe your modem is faulty or your Internet line itself? Have you contacted your ISP and asked if there are any general problems?

The test doesn't saturate your connection so it can't truly reflect what it'll be like, it's an estimate/simulation of what your ping would be like if you were to experience bufferbloat. For a more accurate test I'd suggest using https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000074717-how-to-test-your-internet-ping while saturating your connection with downloads. It's best to start with a high value for Congestion Control (on Always), say 95% then do a test, decrease by 10%, test, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values.
As long as the CPU isn't hitting 100% consistently it shouldn't be causing issues.

So I think the CPU utilisation is perfectly OK when the dashboard is displayed. My R3 doesn't show any other values either. As soon as another menu item is selected beforehand, the CPU is almost between 4-35 with some peaks at 40, even if a massive amount of data is running through the R3...
What I have also noticed is that it depends on the device or browser. On some devices, the dashboard continues to run in the background unless you select something else beforehand and on others it does not.

Yep, I have 1200mbps download.. I set it to 300mbps and fixed my issue.. how freaking bizarre..
definitely a bug that needs to be looked into..
but glad I fixed my issue.. back to A+ score on bufferbloat.. thank goodness

Best results I've had on waveform was too disable ipv6 on WAN/LAN, set my Internet speed manually lower than what I get by about 70%, set my sliders to cut my actual ISP speed to 50% and set CC to always. I also had telemetry, remote access and spanning tree disabled. Hope this helps.

I shall upgrade the FW tonight after work.
Been loving the smart ping. Much more "sit down" and much less "wtf" 😁

TheTerpinator710 reacted to DARKNESS in NEW R3 FIRMWARE 4.0.41
@TheTerpinator710You don't need Ping optimizer you can set your cc manually and bypass the bug pal and if you want to do it professionally use Pingplotter to perfect your QOS/CC as ping optimizer isn't bullet proof it just uses an algorithm from mlab test and for different connections it may not even be optimal/accurate.

Yikes.. still no fix for Ping Optimizer..
biggest reason why I got this R3..
what’s the return policy? 🤔

Although a bit tedious you can always do buffer bloat test manually on a website like waveform. The notes say Ping Optimizer should work better in the next version.

TheTerpinator710 reacted to Netduma Fraser in IPv6
Okay good to know, the team are aware that more work needs to be done on it so probably one of the next firmware versions it'll be improved
-
TheTerpinator710 reacted to Netduma Fraser in IPv6
Try disabling IPv6 for just LAN, then reboot the router and see if it works then please
