FallenGhoul reacted to khu in XDefiant
Yeah I kind of had the same issue as well. When I was on 0.41 firmware, it seemed to work as intended with my custom filter. Would try to connect to EU for whatever reason even though i'm on NA West. But I believe the XDefiant themselves have been doing some tweaking with their servers. This is my first time noticing really bad desync and hitreg issues. Maybe I was having hitreg issues at launch and couldn't notice it? Time can only tell
Biggest thing they REALLY need to fix (aside from XDefiant fixing their netcode | servers) is their recoil bug where the crosshair never recenters after letting go of trigger ... it literally just STAYS where the recoil of the gun left off lol

^ It's definitely TOP 3 under "OPEN" issues on their bug reporter thing. Been trying to spread it to as much people as possible so that it at least maintains being on top for them to notice. Because who knows when they'll fix it if ever heh

It can work sometimes but not consistently. We don't have full support for the game, it's not an easy one to filter, we're looking into it further but it's not good news so far. It may be the case that the game can't be filtered.

FallenGhoul reacted to ThatDisguise in Nothing but issues recently
Firstly, let me start of by saying I love the R3 and it's features, now I'm not sure if it's because it's my first ever "gaming" router and all the features are new to me or the fact they are actually good.
However, I feel like they're not working properly at all. The last few days, I've had to reset the router every day to simply access the OS. The last few days I've had to reset the router 2-3 times a day before it feels like it restricts my internet speed to below 100 MBps, even though on average I get 500-550.
I've tried various things, including a full factory reset of the R3, re installing firmware ect and it hasn't stopped it from happening.
It's unfortunate that I've actually been looking at other gaming routers, because this doesn't seem to be living up to the hype, I bought the product to use features announced at launch and are still not here.

FallenGhoul reacted to Netduma Fraser in Back Up
Not available at the moment but it is on the list so will hopefully come in the future

FallenGhoul got a reaction from ChrisG82 in Back Up
It is a surprise having no back up option, it would be very handy especially with all the factory resets that they recommend after each update, never mind to fix any gremlins outwith of updates

FallenGhoul reacted to ChrisG82 in Back Up
No, not possible at the moment. I will hope that we get this feature wit a new firmware release in future. I don’t understand how they could release such a device without the possibility to backup and restore the settings…

Cheers for that, I will give it a go now.
Myths have a grain of truth so will also shut it down to see how it goes.

FallenGhoul reacted to DARKNESS in Geo Filter Not Working - The Finals
The suggestions below should help if you are continuing to connect to servers outside of your radius.
* Disable GeoLatency
* Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
* Enable Strict Mode
* Disable Fast Search
Then restart the game if that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and check again.

FallenGhoul reacted to Netduma Fraser in Two week review R3

FallenGhoul reacted to BL4CK OPS V3TRN in Two week review R3
Background for context - R1/ R2 / XR500 with Duma OS owner and now R3 owner . UK resident Northern England
SKY ISP 62 DL 18 UL property 2 storey house . Game of choice Call of Duty - nothing else played
DASHBOARD
Great layout and OS extremely fast and responsive , much better than any of the previous routers . Also provide easy access to some of the more important functions direct from dashboard . Its also says good morning to me before any of the family wake up
WIFI
The reason I bought the XR500 sometime back was the WIFI on R2 was did not deliver to the whole property , the XR500
Was an improvement but I still could not get decent service on the second floor and the family moaned like hell , I eventually gave up and used the SKY router for WIFI which meant I have never had all the household devices running on duma . That has now changed !! For the two weeks without issue all devices are added to the R3 and absolutely no complaints from anyone in the family . I did prioritise my wife’s iPad to be safe !! This R3 even connects to my Tesla in the front drive and updates are quicker for the car , previously with the SKY router I needed a third party extender positioned on the 1st floor at the front on the house . This a massive HIT for me !!
SMART BOOST
Works fantastically well and does what it says on the tin . Gaming / Xbox / Wife iPad and Phone all prioritised and
No issues
GEO FILTER
So Netduma state the phrase “game changer “ gets thrown around a lot within the industry , with reference to the Steady Ping function. OMG they are on the money with this one , for the whole two weeks my game play has been a smooth as butter with great hit detection . Previously I had always used the polygon around the London servers as they had the lowest ping , now I noticed with the R3 that it can’t ping those servers or that is what it says on the right side of the geo where the ping stabiliser sits . So when I play on those servers I have a normal experience nothing special . So I used the Polygon on Amsterdam and France which are on a higher ping but the stabiliser clearly kicks in and I see the graph working . This is where I am experiencing without doubt the best experience on COD in many years . No exageration game after game after game , first couple of days I was thinking placebo effect but now over a two weeks later I know it’s the Voodoo geo !! And no doubt the smart boost contributing also especially now I have the whole house on the network with what is , let’s be honest is pretty poor UL and DL …. Average for the UK !!
Ping Optimiser
Well documented it does not work , I set sliders to 75/75 for now until this is patched . First couple of days I lost the ping stabaliser and had to do a factory reset which is always a chore !! however the router has been up and running for 11 days now , that really is the only complaints for me
General
The R3 I feel is pretty much plug and play with some slight set up tweaks which is great , I felt with the R2 I tinkered it to death always looking for the best combination . The R3 is much more user friendly and far less tinkering required
Team Netduma
Netduma are no longer the same start up as when I first stumbled across them and purchased the R1 , however they are still a small company with much less resources than the globals , yet in my opinion the are out performing them their customer service second to none
and much more accessible and engaged than the so called competitors ,and the forum is brilliant with lots of knowledgeable duma dudes . You don’t get that experience with any of the larger competitors . My view is the R3 is by far the best on the market for gaming in any price range
Well done Duma Team !!👋

FallenGhoul got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in Ping Stabilizer
Cheers for that @Netduma Greg It was a pleasure to hekp you guys out in any way I can. Have a good Xmas and New Year mate
-
FallenGhoul reacted to Netduma Greg in Ping Stabilizer
Ok, I found these issues, I'll indicate which ones are bugs and which ones I need to follow up on.
We fail parsing Steady Ping data in the UI in some cases so game hosts are forever stuck in the "Stabilizing" state or the state they were. - Obvious bug Steady Ping not working Destiny 2, it is forever stuck in the Stabilizing state - this looks like it's a bug, if Steady Ping attempts to stabilize that means it would benefit from it but we fail to do so. I'll talk to QA and other devs if they know this already. If they don't, they will. - this is most likely a bug, but tbh we were in the lobby for almost the whole duration while I was looking at this. If it is the same during the game it is definitely a bug. Steady Ping failed (desynchronised) in Finals. We could not replicate this in the remote session, but I'll pass this on see if we can replicate it internally instead. - this can be a bug, or just the connection was that bad during that time that it broke Steady Ping temporarily, then it retried and succeeded. Maybe we can do it better in cases like that I don't know, I pass this on as well.
Again, thanks for the help @FallenGhoul

FallenGhoul reacted to Netduma Fraser in Geo Filter Devices
Yes that's exactly how it would work if they all have filtering enabled, you can click each device and disable them from there if you don't want it to apply to one

FallenGhoul reacted to Netduma Fraser in DMZ
Okay thank you, I will make sure to let the team know about that. Yes that's correct! Great to hear you're having a good experience generally.
Haha thank you, likely will do some on Xmas day and have the rest of the day off. People will be getting it as a gift I suspect so may need help!

FallenGhoul reacted to Newfoundland in DMZ
To understand a little more why DMZ is a security risk think about your whole network which can be accessed through a client that’s compromised. It’s like leaving your front door open.
it means in basic terms an intruder can access all your network from one client being a weak link and it’s really easy to do. always protect yourself.
