Damn Fraser what in tarnations are they doing over there? Is their staff of one highschool student intern done with this firmware yet? How does this take years for updates? Any tech support you offer must have a 97 percent fail rate due to the awnser inevitably being " sorry our software sucks". What can possible take so amazingly long? Obviously you have nothing to do with it. And this entire thread is useless. Try to make us understand so we may actually ever buy another product from your Momo bosses. Perhaps send someone over to Nvidia and figure out how they have 9999999999npriducts yet still manage new driver updates every other month. What do you think the problem is Frasier you know more than us

Hello to all XR1000 and XR1000v2 users!
We're finally ready with a new DumaOS update for XR1000 and XR1000v2.
This update introduces updates and fixes for our DPI cloud synchronisation. Users will now receive our latest DPI database versions as soon as they're released. This means support for new games in Geo-Filter, Traffic Prio and Traffic Controller. You'll see new titles like Marvel Rivals are supported in Geo-Filter, and new titles like Path of Exile 2 are supported in Traffic Prioritisation.
We've also fixed the issue from the previous version where there were no default lists in Adblocker. Now you can begin blocking ads straight away with the click of a button, and the lists will update automatically over time.
There are also some backend fixes, including security improvements.
This firmware was created to fix any lingering bugs with the feature set of the XR1000, and deliver on all of the features promised when the XR1000 was sold. However it does not introduce any of the exciting new features from DumaOS 4, such as SmartBOOST and Geo-Filter 2.0. For the time being, these features are exclusive to the Netduma R3 gaming router, and we can make no promise that they'll make their way to the XR1000.
That said, XR1000 users will continue to receive updates for compatibility with the latest games via Netduma's DPI cloud, and security updates will be provided by Netgear.

To request beta access, please reply to this post.

Yes there was a promise from Netduma
2 years ago Netduma luke posted this and marked as sticky. They deleted it later realizing there is not much to back it up.

    "Hi everyone,
This is an update for you guys on where we are with DumaOS and specifically, the XR/NPG routers which is why we have posted it in this subforum.
First of all, here’s the current status for each XR router, including links to where you can get the latest firmware for those of you who don’t already have it installed:
    XR300 – V1.0.3.68 (DumaOS 2.0) XR450/XR500 – V2.3.2.130 (DumaOS 3.0) XR700 – V1.0.1.46 (DumaOS 3.0 Beta) XR1000 – V1.0.0.58 (DumaOS 3.0)
Now to address the problem: the speed at which XR users have been getting new firmwares. We realise it has been far too slow.
Here’s how the firmware building process typically works:
Every few months a new DumaOS firmware is completed This first must pass our internal testing Then it moves over to NETGEAR where it must pass their testing, including all the non-DumaOS side of the firmware Then it goes into closed beta testing Eventually, if all has gone well, it will be released The big problem we have is that if there is an issue at any point, the entire process needs to start again. Considering all the different XR routers DumaOS is on combined with the fact all of them have very large user bases (meaning disaster if a serious bug gets through) and you begin to see the problem.

So, what can we do about this? We asked ourselves the same question at the beginning of the year and we have been working on a solution ever since. We’ll be putting a blog and video together to explain in more detail what we have done, but here is a summary.

We have created a brand new ‘build system’ which will drastically speed up how quickly we can build and test firmware.

One part of this system involved writing hundreds and hundreds of automatic tests which allow a bunch of computers to test DumaOS without any human involvement.

Another part is to allow us to trigger new internal firmware builds every night. The purpose of this is to gather all the latest changes our developers have made during the day, build a new firmware and then kick off the automated tests. This means we can catch bugs before human testers ever get their hands on the firmware.
The end result of all of this is we can make stable and well tested DumaOS much, much faster than ever before.

We’ve been working on this build system for some time and last week, we released a new R2 firmware. It was our very first full firmware built using the new build system, so it’s a bit of a landmark moment for us.

Our plan is to now use this new system for all future DumaOS 3.0 firmwares, including XR routers, Telstra Game Optimiser, the R1 etc. It’ll take us a bit of time to tweak it to work with each router, but once done it will become very easy for us to prepare rock-solid firmwares to send to NETGEAR for their testing before then releasing them to you guys.

There’s still one sticking point left: the XR300 community. We really do know how far behind you are, and it sucks. All I can say is we’ll do everything in our power to try and bring you up to the latest version using this new build system - I can’t promise it will work, but we’ll do our very best.

The last thing to say is we realise we’ve been pretty quiet over the past few months in terms of communication. Behind the scenes, we’ve never been busier.

We’ve got some massive features coming out in 2022. Honestly, it’s going to be the biggest leap forward we’ve ever made in our technology and is the culmination of several years of R&D. We’ve also doubled the size of our team over the past 18 months. We know it’s been a long wait, but the payoff will be worth it.

Thank you for all the patience on this. We know we’ve got a brilliant user community, we feel very blessed and fortunate to have you. We think you’ll love what’s coming out next and we’ll begin to share more details with you on what we have been up to, so stay tuned.

    The Netduma Team

Drilling down, what I experience on a regular basis (probably weekly maybe bi-weekly) are:
    (1) priority traffic throttled to a halt (talking bits per minute, bps) but not blocked, when there are no other devices competing for bandwidth.
    (2) seems to stop prioritizing traffic, effectively turning off QoS (buts its still enabled).
Finally, doesn't happen as often as the other issues, but yes QoS configurations have reverted.
Regarding the UI, its really difficult to articulate the issues on this one for me. But, everything from unresponsiveness to other settings reverting randomly. I got into a habit of having to double check settings to ensure they stick.
I just kept telling myself, there will be a patch. But after a few years and two devices,  finally decided to have enough of it.

Are you using Armor by any chance? That can significantly slow down the interface. Also it sounds like you may be using/forcing a connection to the interface with HTTPS. Use HTTP instead and it'll be much faster.
You can use it direct to the ONT if you wish to, as you mentioned you'll need to enter PPPoE and VLAN into the section mentioned above, once all set give the router a reboot from the interface and you should get a connection after that. I personally would suggest keeping your other router to handle all that though as QoS won't work optimally with PPPoE/VLAN - it's something we're working on.
What QoS settings are you using currently? Can you provide a screenshot of the page? Those third party can be inaccurate and Traffic Prioritization can affect the results they produce.
There is no difference between the XR1000 v1 & v2 so you don't need the v2.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, bufferbloat only occurs when your connection is saturated and with Congestion Control active that can't happen. You may need to fine tune a bit more to get the best values.

I don't know what you're referring to exactly so I couldn't say. Also just because one person has issues doesn't mean another person will, there are lots of variables, best thing to do is give it a try yourself and see how it performs.

I stay connected in PPPOE also with the problem of traffic congestion waiting for DUMA OS 3.3 which solves all these problems.
In PPPOE the router uses the TIM dns and I don't change them. I use google dns on the Playstation 5.
I use firmware version 1.0.0.64 on the NETGEAR XR1000 and I find it better than 1.0.0.68 which has serious problems (18 months waiting for an update which is worse than 1.0.0.64).
    Thank you Netduma Fraser.

Hopefully fix PPPOE/QOS congestion on this router.
Does PPPOE/QOS work on NETDUMA R2?
PPPOE/QOS from problems playing games on NETGEAR XR1000?
You recommend the NETDUMA R2 while waiting for this NETGEAR XR1000 router to improve and arrive at DUMA OS 3.3.
Too slow Netgear to update the router.

Netgear won't have pushed the update to their server for some reason, usually they do this if they want to monitor how well a firmware is received to prevent major issues across all customers.
Great to hear that, thanks for the update.

I switched to version 1.0.0.64 without reset:
Traffic priority does not activate while playing efootball on the PS5 but only in the game menu or when the opponent disconnects.
I used Games DumaOS then deactivated and activated Game console.
While in Geofilter it doesn't disappear auto host ping after it finds the match like in 1.0.0.68.
This Netgear XR1000 has too many problems to be a top of the range without even developing beta firmware to fix problems before an official firmware. In fact, 18 months went by months from 1.0.0.64 to 1.0.0.68 without bringing improvements and remaining Duma OS 3.1.1.
More and more convinced to switch to Netduma R2 even if wifi5 hoping that in the future it will also include the Italian language.
Will a Netduma R3 wifi6 be your next router?

Firmware downgrade without reset from 1.0.0.68 to 1.0.0.64. PPPOE/QOS problem persists.
Performed a bufferbloat test with outcome D like 1.0.0.68(https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat?test-id=12a18dc5-f111-4aab-ae0b-8718bf275514)
I'll check if it works traffic priority that we don't light up red dots while in game in version 1.0.0.68
Improve real ping on ping heatmap that doesn't give the right value comparing it with windows command prompt.
I'm tempted to get Netduma R2 and install the latest beta firmware 3.3 waiting for better times for the Netgear XR1000 (too slow to get updates and the bugs after 18 months are still on 1.0.0.68.

I'm just writing a quick post to let you know that we're looking for Early Access testers for future R2 DumaOS releases, starting with this one.
The purpose of the early access group is to test new firmwares on a larger scale right before we release them publicly.
Please note that these firmwares might not be completely stable and you may find issues, so beware of this before choosing to upgrade to them.
