You've set it up very well, I'm unsure if PPPoE is still required for BT or not but it might be possible to connect the XR direct to the ONT.
The IP addresses doesn't matter, as long as they're not conflicting then you're good.

Buster reacted to oRaGaMi in Cold War fix for NORTH America +
Hello I was having a blast with cold war till a day after Thanksgiving and then the servers seemed to go to crap here in North America. The problem seems to be packetloss related and just over all lag without the benefits of being lag compensated which comes with the additional high ping.

My fix was simply to use geo filter to force European servers where I get 100+ latency and am on the positive side of lag compensation.
Its literally back to how it was b4 thanksgiving except with high ping.
My in game ping on NA servers says 32 typically which Is actually around 18 router side.
I hope this fix helps others out also I'd like to mention I'll be toggling back to USA servers every so often to see if they have been fixed. As I come from the battlefield community and realize playing out of region is aggravating to players with low ping and playing in region.
So apologies ahead of time If you encounter StarCraftGhost

Hello, congratulations and thank you to all of the new R2 owners!
I'm making this thread because we'd like everybody's honest opinions on the product. The cool thing about the R2 is that it's the same unit that our developers use to develop on, so if you find any bugs or have any issues, we should be able to respond quickly to that feedback in new firmwares. I can report any issues straight to the developers and get an answer very quickly about how feasible an update is.
Because DumaOS is developed using Netduma R2's, you should expect cutting edge updates and new features to come to the R2 before other platforms. Keep an eye on this forum for our latest firmwares, because the R2 doesn't currently have an auto-update function for firmwares.
However we CAN send out automated updates for the Geo-Filter map, the Ping Heatmap lists, the Device Types, the Traffic Priorization profiles and the Adblocker lists. In future we'll add the ability to update features through the rapp store!
Anyway that was a tangent, let us know what you think, and thanks again for supporting Netduma!

Buster reacted to Sable in Defeat MW Lag Compensation!
After various testings over the last few weeks I’ve finally found a way to defeat lag compensation on my end, when I was playing on servers in my country (UK) I was always a second behind foreign players due to lag compensation, so I used to always connect to the Spanish server or the Italian server to get myself on the better end of lag compensation, that worked for a while but then when the updates rolled out it began not to work.

For about a week now I have had no issues with being insta melted and Hit marker bullet sponging.

My solution is simple but please note that just because this works for me that doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for others, but hopefully it will.
On QoS I leave sliders at 100% and then select Never. Then on the console you will be playing the game on (which is PS4 for me) Give it exactly 3mb Download and 0.5mb Upload (between 0.5 and 0.3mb) and untick share excess, make sure you untick both download and upload. You can check in PS4 Network settings: test connection to see if what you have set has been applied. I don’t bother with port prioritisation and I leave DumaOS games ticked.
I keep my geo filter on strict with no ping assist and set it to 500km radius around my home country.
I hope this can help others out because this game can be quite frustrating, MW is very generous with the amount of lag compensation that it gives to higher ping players but by manipulating your connection and making it seem like you have slower speeds it seems to do the trick of eliminating it.

Just an update, i woke up this morning to my xr500 having no internet, long story short i had to do a factory reset and i have just gone to do a speedtest, im consistently getting the speed i pay for instantly and i have lost 7ms of ping over my usual servers on speedtest.net , but more importantly on pingplotter now, with QoS at 70% i have next to no movement on ping what so ever. Even with QoS disabled whilst watching a 1080p60fps video on YouTube im not seeing any pingspikes, certainly nothing like  i was where it was hundreds of ms.  😀

    Hi everyone,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re aware that in some specific cases, customers are experiencing increased latency when simultaneously using streaming video services and gaming online using the same connection.

This issue only affects some of our customers, and only in the specific instance where they are using a console or PC to play games online while streaming video, not purely online gaming services like Google Stadia.

The good news is that we’ve tested and approved a fix which we are now rolling out within our network to resolve the issue for the vast majority of the customers that experienced it.

We’ll be rolling out these updates to resolve this issue for all of our customers over the coming months. While we’re doing this, we ask customers to contact our moderators in the community if they’re still experiencing this issue and we may be able to help resolve the issue more quickly on a case by case basis.

Thanks for your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience while we’ve investigated and worked to fix this.

    Cheers

OpenWRT is what I'll be turning to next as I'm having 0 luck with DumaOS. Someone can be in my face and I hipfire with a laser... hitmarker after hitmarker and they melt me like I'm not even firing. Yet when someone hipfires me... I drop faster than I can blink.
I did have a brief play with OpenWRT (plugging my console into OpenWRT router) and noticed people drop alot quicker than with DumaOS... but if I plug console into Duma, disable BB and just use OpenWRT SQM... peoples take forever to drop.
I always found OpenWRT was much better with Black Ops 4 also.

Good answer above, people still use UPnP with these settings but it can cause port conflicts which is why we recommend not to.

I'm not sure if that has to do with other settings.

On my XR500 that uses PPPoE the uPNP table stays empty while on the other running DHCP it gets populated. All other settings are equal, even up to things like equal IP's for the console and wifi SSD / PW etc.

Buster reacted to BIG__DOG in Port Triggering/UpNp
Port Triggering...the router senses when a port is trying to listen...from a service you have behind the NAT..and it opens, upon demand. It's sort of a predecessor to UPnP. It's done by the router. As with port forwarding I would use one of them, not a combination of them. UPnP is automatic port forwarding.

So, tonight I tried a little expiriment.

I have my old PS4 Slim around since I have a PS4 Pro system since a few days. Made a new account today, hooked up the PS4 Slim to a 720P plasma TV from 2005, set up the wifi connection to my XR500, no traffic rules, geofiltering or nothing. No headset, just sitting on the sofa with my feet on the table.

I was attempting to reverse boost the account, so I went playing like a total noob. Just go through the map at walking speed no ADS, just hipfire at enemies. After 2 games the enemies were so shockingly bad that I had to be carefull not to go positive while hipfiring like that. From level 4 I just played the standard classes, so a AUG or Kilo without attachments. It's just amazing. I can walk right in the middle of the map on Crash by the helicopter, without getting shot at all.  Almost no claymores or mines, a few people prone but not a single player jumpshotting. I would litterally stand there hipfiring from 20 meters and they would be unable to hit a slow or stationary target. Even had multiple hipfire kill across half the map, was meaning to miss but killed them by accident LMAO. Played 20 games in total. Game 15 was a FFA game on Vacant and I was down 5-10, could not control myself any longer and won the game with 30-12 LOL. Game 16 actually had better enemies right away, not god tier but noticably better so went back to my routine before. Game 17 was on Shipment, here I was able to pull off a 23-13 just slow walking and hipfiring with a no attachment kilo. Up to game 15 I was actually at 0.5 K/D / 80 SPM, but after that at game 20 I ended 0.72 K/D 126 SPM.

    Some observations:
    1. I checked the ping for every game, all my games were on the Amsterdam server. I litterally had no connection issues at all over these 20 games.
    2. I found all games litterally within 5 seconds, on my main account this absolutely takes ages, sometimes 10 minutes with geofiltering on.
    3. Out of 20 games, 19 had session joiners or reverse boosters in the lobby. So the whole purpose of SBMM is kinda defeated.
    4. In those lobbies, there is only a handfull players with headsets, in my normal lobbies everybody plays with a headset.

Playing like this kinda makes you wonder why we are beeing daft spending all that money on 1ms screens, scuf controllers, headsets, special routers etc. The better stuff you buy the harder the game gets for you with this SBMM.

I can see why IW isn't listening to the complaints about matchmaking or other things though. If you play the game like that the lobbies are totally different. Dead silence doesn't matter since nobody uses a headset anyway. Weapon balance doesn't matter since your enemies miss so many shots you might as well poke them with a stick. Netcode, lagcompensation etc all of that don't matter since they react so slow you wouldn't be able to tell. If you play just casually on the TV and you don't read reddit etc you would not know about any of this.

I tried session joining this account with my main account one game. It's actually not so easy since these lobbies tend to fill in a few seconds. But once you do manage to get in, you get a genuine bot lobby. I also tried partying up with that account as host and this gives harder enemies but not as hard as I normally get, more right between the two.

im pretty confident that i would spot a mis configuration either in hg612 or xr500,  just by looking, it would be very long winded asking a zillion questions. if its still not solved by next week send me a message by all means.
