Geo-Filtering doesn't work & other grievances
PharmDawgg replied to Zer0Aspect's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Do you recommend before we update the R3 to a new firmware to always reboot R3 before and after we update do a factory reset. Just curious. Thanks Fraser. -
Could having IPv6 enabled in LAN/WAN affect the Ping Optimizer and Speed Test not functioning. Just curious. Thanks Fraser.

Also reserve an ip address for the Xbox so the router doesn’t try to give the Xbox's address to another device.

Cannot play Fortnite on Xbox, one of the largest games
PharmDawgg replied to Megatf's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Netduma is suppose to be releasing a firmware 4.0.20 that fixes this issue. Did your R3 alert you of an available update? -
No problem that is what this forum is here for. These routers are what I refer to as bleeding-edge tech and with it comes issues. But as a community (Netduma and the Duma Army) we will help each other work through them. One of the Netduma mates will respond to you as soon as they can.

Sorry no config pics. I picked those ports up from playstation forum. I don't have a playstation and I only use upnp myself. No portforwarding for me. I game only on pc and xbox. I also believe there are some issues with the upnp function from previous posts currently with the R3 but I am okay with waiting until Netduma pushes out an update which I believe should right around the corner.

Netduma R3 and Extender AX1800 ; EAx15 Netgear Mesh Extender
PharmDawgg replied to boothay's topic in Netduma R3 Support
It is possible. I tried my Asus mesh nodes with Asus’ app and ended up having to factory reset both my mesh routers because it didn’t take. I recommend logging into the mesh nodes by way of pc and enabling access point mode. Then connect the wan port of the primary node to a lan port on the R3. Then you should be able to connect the mesh nodes by wirelessly or wired. -
Great job Netduma. I was able to install the router with ease. The new web gui is very sleek and streamlined. It is truly a significant upgrade from the R1 and R2. It almost feels like a new and unfamiliar product but in a good way though. I was initially going to attach a mesh network to the router but decided to go ahead and try out the wifi. So as of right now it is the primary network provider in my home. I’m going to try put it through the paces. There were two apps that I was unable to use though. 1. Ping Optimizer.(I know I can set it up manually though) 2. Speed Test. (I just couldn’t get it to run). Internet Provider:Comcast Internet Type : Cable web Browser: Chrome

It should work if the mesh network is Asus products. Unsure of other manufacturers recommendations. Sorry.

No problemm I haven’t gotten mine yet. Hopefully it will be today. I will be replacing the xr700 with the R3.

I have xr700 lan to ax11000 (ap mode) lan and then i have the ax11000 connected to an rtax86u by way of a wireless backhaul. I couldn't do a wired backhaul but yes it would be more optimal.

I wonder if there is anything we can do when installing the new router to decrease the chance of this occurring.

Has this encryption standard been discussed for the R3. I know that WPA3 offers significant improvements to security, but I know not all devices may support WPA3, and in such cases, they may continue to use WPA2 or an earlier standard. I know it could be possible to have a hybrid version WPA2/WPA3 where the older devices would connect with the older standard encryption. Just a suggestion.

Sorry to jump in but I had a quick question do you recommend only connecting the R3 to a direct outlet and to not use a power strip. Thanks.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
PharmDawgg replied to Netduma Lew's topic in News & Announcements
This is something that is happening to others as well. Netduma is looking into this issue so it can be made more reliable. Please report all the games that this seems to be occurring with during your gameplay. -
I believe that providing a definitive answer is challenging for them due to unexpected circumstances. Best-case scenarios is a delivery time of 2 to 3 days, but unforeseen events can cause delays. A prime example is my current situation; I'm on the East Coast, and my package, shipped on December 14 with an expected delivery date of December 21 which seemed to be longer than I would expect. As of now, the package has reached my city, and I have a feeling it will be delivered either tomorrow or Tuesday (18th or 19th) — yay! I believe it could have arrived sooner, but it had to be placed on hold due to inclement weather and had to wait for another transport. It is what it is, I guess. Trust me, Netduma will get it to you as soon as they possible can. I have a feeling they don't want you to be without your R3 any longer than necessary.

If you forward these ports on your router for the PS5 should resolve your issue as well but I would try the UPNP option first. Its ia alot less tedious. Just remember before you forward ports make sure you assign your PS5 a static ip address outside of your router's address pool. That way it won't try to give it to another device. ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
PharmDawgg replied to Netduma Lew's topic in News & Announcements
I will be with you playing the waiting game with as well. Mine isn't scheduled to be delivered until Dec 21. Patience is a virtue right? I just want to say thank you to Netduma for all the hard work. -
@Kyle I’m not sure how Netgear Aimesh works but with Asus you can enable AP mode on routers with Aimesh and you can still use the Aimesh. I connected the primary Aimesh node (gt-ax11000) to the xr700((DumaOS router) by ethernet -lan to lan. Then I connected the other node by way of a wifi backhaul. Sorry to say connecting by way of ethernet or power line wasn’t an option. I did have a hiccup. It did not work initially so I had to factory reset the Asus routers and then turn on AP mode. For some reason turning on the AP mode initially didn't take. But everything is good to go right now and just waiting to replace the xr700 ( old and busted) with the R3 (new hotness). Hope this helps.
