Overwatch 2 Server Possible Mislocation (Oklahoma)
PharmDawgg replied to PharmDawgg's topic in Netduma R3 Support
When it comes to ping. Yes or at least for me a 50ms ping or lower is ok for me. When it comes to location. No Ping Heat map doesn’t show an Oklahoma server. Ping Heat map fix in progress or at least I assume. -
Overwatch 2 Server Possible Mislocation (Oklahoma)
PharmDawgg replied to PharmDawgg's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Only been able to connect to the Oklahoma server. In which the pings are not that bad. ~35-45 ping -
I was having a similar issue, but my issue was how I was testing my speeds. I was using a web-based speed test vs app-based speed test. I am not getting exactly 1gig speeds but ~900 Mbps speeds.
-
I figured it out. In order to get the most accurate speediest results you have do it with an app that is downloaded to the device doing the test. I downloaded the desktop app and the speed test was 99% more accurate. To test from a web based app is not that accurate. For me it had a lot of inaccuracies.

I'll try that and see. Thanks.

PC apps like Ookla. I'm not speaking of the R3 speedtest. I know it is in process of being fixed/updated. I will try and post a vid when I get a sec. For some reason I think it may be my ethernet card but I am not sure.

Just curious has anyone done a speed test with a fiber service and the results hit max but gradually decreases during the test. Thereby resulting in a final value that is nowhere near my max speeds. If I use the app it says my modem router is getting full speeds. ATT Fiber> ATT modem/router >IP Passthrough- All packet filtering turned off on modem/router > R3> All devices. All new ethernet cables.

Just curious on how and why to use a hybrid VPN. I didn’t really use it on the R2, but I would like to use it on the R3 when it is released. So, basically for you who like the functionality, how are you using it? Are you using it for your gaming devices or for non-gaming devices or both? Is it more fluid, so you turn it on when you are gaming and off when you are not? If you have any references that I can read up on, please feel free to share! Thanks.

On the Heat Map this location is not shown. It is usually white but it is red because I got booted for inactivity. I can only connect to this server 9 out of 10 times. Maybe it is mislocated. I am really unsure. No big issue just thought I would post. I thought there was a thread for mislocated servers but I could not find it. Thanks.

Please provide more specifics so support can provide assistance. Thanks.

If your setup is Skyhub(DHCP)>R3(DHCP)> only iPv4 will be available. Sorry to say if you want iPv6 you will have: 1. Remove the R3 2. Skyhub -enable DMZ/Bridge mode which I don’t think either is possible Honestly I think you are stuck with iPv4 only which isn’t a total loss.

Please refer to @Netduma Fraserpost above. The next firmware is being worked on but the release date is unknown.

Is there any negative to having a setup to where the R3 is in "ip passthrough" therefore it is on a separate networks. ATT modem/router (192.168.1.1)/R3 (192.168.77.1) The ATT router/modem doesn't offer a true bridge or dmz mode. As of right now everything is working fine. No double NAT's or connection issues but I will say I can no longer obtain Ipv6 allocation on the R3 side of things. I can connect a device to the ATT modem/router, and it will receive an iPv6 address with no problem. Also, because all my devices are not receiving any iPv6 addresses should I just disable IPv6 WAN and IPv6 LAN on the R3. Thanks for any suggestions.

It can be used as an wifi extender/ap but the wifi has issues with coverage but Netduma is working to improve it. If you use the R3 as a wifi extender/ap, you will loose the ability to use the geo filter functionality when you disable the DHCP functionality. It has to be hardwired to the primary router. There is no mesh capability.

Hello Everyone! - R3 setup help request.
PharmDawgg replied to no.way.mad.tha's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Here is a screen recording on the app but you can get there as well on the desktop gui. RPReplay_Final1708950588.mp4 -

When I have gotten this error before trying to access my R3 on the app I have found a workaround by turning off my wifi convection on my phone (ie airplane mode or disabling/reenabling the wifi. After about 30secs I was able to access the R3 on the app. I’m not sure if this will work for everyone but it may give you another option over having to reboot the router. Phone: iOS DumaOS version: 4.0.41

Speed Test and Ping Optimizer not working
PharmDawgg replied to oculus's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Netduma are aware Ping Optimizer/Speed Test isn't 100% reliable at the moment and it's something the team are working on. Those features can still work, it just may not be every time. In the meantime best to adjust Congestion Control manually in Ping Optimizer > Advanced. Hopefully it will be remedied in the next firmware update. -
@swippurUnfortunately google fiber isn't available to me currently but definitely thanks for the info.

I have been dealing with Xfinity/Comcast cable internet for years and am excited to be upgrading to fiber internet. The idea of faster speeds and more reliable internet is incredibly exciting. However, I want to ensure that I set it up correctly to fully maximize its potential. With this in mind, I'm reaching out to gather suggestions on the best way to go about this. If anyone already has this setup, have you had any issues or how did you set it up specifically. Thanks for any suggestions and input. I don't have any specifics on devices yet, but I will sometime tomorrow.

Is there anyway for us to remedy this? We need a stealth mode for this router or will it mess up some other functionality. www.grc.com Ping Reply: RECEIVED (FAILED) — Your system REPLIED to our Ping (ICMP Echo) requests, making it visible on the Internet. Most personal firewalls can be configured to block, drop, and ignore such ping requests in order to better hide systems from hackers. This is highly recommended since "Ping" is among the oldest and most common methods used to locate systems prior to further exploitation.

SpeedTest and Ping Optimiser NOT working at all
PharmDawgg replied to mcallisterbr69's topic in Netduma R3 Support
No solution as of yet. Netduma is still working on correcting the issue. -
I am not sure if this has already been requested before, but I would like to see the adding of RAM monitoring functionality for the R3 like we have for the CPU. I think by monitoring RAM in real-time, we can proactively identify any potential issues such as memory leaks or resource constraints that may impact network performance. Or is this already available and I may have overlooked it. Thanks ahead for any assistance.
