Hybrid VPN is currently not available but it is in the works and nay be released in the next firnware update I would rank the wifi like this R3>R2>R1. I would not compare the Netgear/Duna routers to the Duma only. Of course the wifi for the Netgear/Duma routers are going to be better. Netgear have been in the business a lot longer and have perfected the process. One advantage that the R3 has over the Netgear/Duma routers is the Netgear/Duma routers are not getting DumaOS4

Ok by turning off the wifi and going with a ap/mesh system I believe it has given my R3 a little more head room performance wise. Two week uptime here I come.
-
I have the R3 hardwired to the gtax11000pro (ap/mesh mode) ->wirelessly connected -->rtax86u (ap/mesh mode). I have an improved coverage and am able to use wpa2/wpa3. I turned off the wireless on the R3. And everything is going strong. No dead spots at my home. I guess if there are any cons you will have to manage the wireless devices on the mesh units which really isn't that bad. And the R3 will only see your mesh units on the device manager and not your wireless devices. But you will still be able to control the devices (ie assigning ip address or block/allowing devices if you have children etc.).

The 4.0.23 firmware is available on the forum or you can request it from @Netduma Fraser You can upload the firmware manually to the R3. You will have to download the file to a pc. This will work with a mac as well. Go to settings>troubleshooting>upload firmware. I would try to do it with a pc/mac hardwired to the router directly if possible. And I would reboot the router prior to updating. Hope this helps.

Is there an unreleased firmware that I can test?
PharmDawgg replied to Keith's topic in Netduma R3 Support
There is a 4.0.23 firmware. That is the most current firmware version. 4.0.23 Changelog: Steady Ping improvements Auto Ping Host improvements Geo-Latency improvements -
@Netduma Fraser has posted on another post it may be end of this week or maybe early next week. Honestly I would take it with a grain of salt. I know an update is needed but I would like for it to be well tested. We don't want any more bugs. 🙂

Will give it a try.

If you have any game suggestions for the Netduma routers please place here. And thanks for all your suggestions.

Just wanted to add I tried using auto for channel and width selection but I don’t believe it is selecting the best options. For instance 5ghz was selecting 104/80 (channel/width) kept getting buffering with Disney+. Changed to 48/40(channel/width) and all is good. Also 2.4ghz was selecting 1/40. This did a better job at auto selecting but I did change it to 2.4ghz to a 20mhz width because the 5ghz was on a 40mhz width. One more thing I like to use the iOS wireless diagnostics for best wifi channel selections and it was giving me a best 5ghz channel of 144 or 165. And those channels are not available to me.

Netduma R3 Ping Optimizer has encountered a problem
PharmDawgg replied to Leidsy's topic in Netduma R3 Support
You are not alone when it comes to this issue. Netduma is aware and are going to address the ping optimizer being unresponsive issue asap. -
Click on the three horizontal lines in the top left hand corner of the R3’s gui. Settings> Troubleshooting > Upload Firmware

.If the PS5 device is in the DMZ, port forwarding isn’t necessary for the PS5 because it's already exposed to all incoming traffic. @Netduma Fraserwill respond tomorrow.
-
Congestion Control Always On (Enabled) = the slider adjustments will affect your bufferbloat tests that you run. Speed Test Bypass (Enabled) = when you run speed tests (i.e. SpeedTest by Ookla) the slider adjustments will not affect your speed test results - the results should be your full speeds you pay for.

Unsure of what the new firmware designation will be but it will not be 4.0.23 and it will probably be pushed to our R3's.
-
There is no new firmware. The current firmware is 4.0.23.
-
Not sure if this will help but make sure you have Use Upstream DNS unselected as well like this. @Netduma Fraser will be along tomorrow to provide further assistance.

Thank for your interest in the Netduma R3. For information concerning the return policy just review this link. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions please feel free to let us know. Thanks.

I don't believe so. I saw where @Netduma Fraser quoted someone maybe early next week.
-
Does anyone know how the uptime is displayed when it is longer than a week. Just curious.
-
If anyone find any antennas that you can purchase that are compatible with the R3 without having to use the adapter. Please post. 😂

Is the R3 capable of providing over 1gb speeds?
PharmDawgg replied to mron0903's topic in Netduma R3 Support
I believe it is limited to 1gb theoretical speeds.
