Pro Innocence reacted to Netduma Alex in NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.540
    Hi Everyone,
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get a new update with new features and stability fixes out to you.

    Important Note:
You may see "Critical Error: Failed to load minimum required components" after upgrade.
Please ignore this message and refresh the page by pressing CTRL+F5. This will reload the page wihout cache.

    Changelog:
Behavioural Identification is a new feature which identifies traffic based on the way it behaves. This allows us to categorise and prioritise traffic which hasn't yet been added to our DPI database, ensuring day one support for new games. It can also assume and categorise encrypted traffic based on the way that it behaves, which means that, for the first time ever, we can prioritise Gaming, Streaming and Video Calls even while you're using a VPN! New Themes have been added to DumaOS, you can now pick from Traditional Red, Gamer Green, Baby Blue or Cherry Pink WPS Support has been added. Press the WPS button on the back of your R3 to start pairing mode for 2 minutes. Translations have been added to the UI, you can now set your DumaOS to Chinese, Dutch, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish and German. If there are any incorrect translations, you can report them in the change language page. LAN Disconnections have been fixed, you shouldn’t be getting random drop-outs for wired devices anymore. Ping Optimiser has been overhauled and should be quicker and more stable than before. WiFi Auto Channel Selection has been improved, you'll get better speeds over WiFi. PPPoE VLAN compatibility has been fixed, you can now use both PPPoE login and VLAN tags at the same time and everything will work. Memory leaks have been fixed, your unit should no longer have to restart because of memory build up. LAN IPs were sometimes not being assigned before, this is fixed now. Many various frontend fixes. Various Stability and Security Fixes There are more new features coming this year that we've been working on as well. Keep your eyes peeled and we'll hopefully share them soon!
You can install the firmware via Settings > Troubleshooting > Upload Firmware, and upload the file below:
    DumaOS-R3-4.0.540.sig
We will be pushing this via the One Click Update over the next week or so.

Pro Innocence reacted to Netduma Fraser in 8700 posts since release 3 months ago! Yes, almost 9 thousand posts!
    No we don't have that.
I have 70,000 posts over 10 years which means I average around 600 posts a month. Making the last 3 months just under double what I would normally do which is expected for new hardware/software so it's actually not as much as it seems. I don't think comparing us to companies with billions in the bank and thousands of employees is a fair comparison - we're still a relatively small company.
The router is tested of course by us but every connection is different, hence why we beta tested as well. However, it is not realistic to assume that there won't be issues, even Netgear who are massive will have the same. Development is very fluid, I could provide some information today that is no longer relevant tomorrow. I know your intentions are pure, you just want the best and I understand that, unfortunately issues come to light that aren't expected and we just have to figure out what is happening and get it sorted as quickly as possible which is what we're trying to do. In my opinion some of the firmware we have provided since Xmas was rushed and I'm partially to blame for that as I caved to customer pressure so we're not making that same mistake again. We'll take our time and get it right.

At least 3000 of those posts are just mine I believe. It is a new product and also new software, there are bound to be a lot of topics and posts. Even with the R2 launch there were a lot as well. Don't forget you're looking at a support forum, you will only see people posting issues here, it is a small percentage of the people that have an R3. We've never denied there are issues with any product we've worked on, that's why we gather feedback and logs etc so we can work on them. I understand you're frustrated but the team develop all day every day, it's not possible to go faster. If we rush out firmware then more issues could arise, better to take our time to ensure quality.

It was as you say, as an offline device so added it to DHCP and now works perfectly.

I have my PS5 beind a Nighthawk SX10 switch which I think is very similar to the S8000. My PS5 showed up in device manager as unknown and I just named it PS5 myself as Fraser mentions. Everything works normally there.

Fuzy is also correct in that the switch is in offline devices normally. I gave it name, a dhcp reservation, and manually set the ip. Works great.

A managed switch appears in Offline Devices.
You can rename it and give it a static IP to configure it behind dumaOS

What is the name for the device under UPnP - it could be named differently to what you expect, is that name shown on the Device Manager? It's also possible that because it's connected through the switch that it'll show on the offline branch on the Device Manager.
Disable Adblocker and see if that then works please.

Pro Innocence reacted to Netduma Fraser in NEW R3 FIRMWARE 4.0.40
Hello everyone, here is the first update of 2024 for the Netduma R3. This update is not available as a 1 click update from the interface, you will need to upgrade manually.
    Please read carefully:
We have tested this firmware but not as much as we would have done normally, reason being is we wanted to get this out to people to try without any further delay SO it is possible you could see issues as with any firmware update but it's looking pretty good so far.
This update does not fix every single issue that has been reported, it is possible that issues you may have that aren't covered in the change log have been resolved but if its not been mentioned don't expect it to be fixed.
Please do not report issues you already have that haven't been fixed in this firmware, we know what the issues are and they're still being worked on. On the other hand if there is an issue you were having that has been fixed please do let us know as that helps just as much as reporting issues.
    TL:DR
Don't report issues that have already been reported and that haven't been mentioned in the change log Report whether issues mentioned in the change log and issues that haven't been mentioned have been fixed Report any new issues you've encountered after upgrading Changelog:
Improvements to stability of upgrade process (memory issue should be fixed) Improved performance during high bandwidth usage Fixed a bug when disabling multiple devices in Adblocker Added ability to select individual server in Ping Heatmap when servers are grouped together Improved reliability of Speed Test Reduced CPU usage of certain services that were causing ping spikes Various frontend styling fixes Firmware removed while we work to fix issues.

You’re appreciated more than you know, man. I don’t think any of the irritation is directed towards you. You’re just the main face of the forum so it may appear that way. We know you guys are doing all that you can.

Not sure if this has been raised before but any chance we could get an option to backup and re import settings, even if its to a text file?
Factory resets are required sometimes and this would really take the pain out of setting everything up again.

Pro Innocence reacted to Netduma Fraser in Hotfix for router firmware coming soon? - CPU issues causing ping instability
I believe it is the CPU issue you're experiencing, the firmware is due this week and not only will the CPU usage be drastically reduced, the higher ping/jitter caused by it should be resolved as well. As lot of fixes/improvements in this one I believe.

Pro Innocence reacted to Netduma Fraser in when will the new update come out?
It's likely SmartBOOST/IPv6, disabling those seems to prevent it, the team are looking into it.
I don't know how it will come out at the moment but I suspect it might be a situation where I'm giving it out manually, we'll see

Pro Innocence reacted to TG3NOC1D3 in Which software update is fixing the CPU spike issue, 0.23?
Incase you didn't get the answer, new firmware post 4.0.23 will fix the CPU issue. Expected this week, but not confirmed.

    Hopes this helps
