Ian88
So I've already got the turtle beach elite 800s which set me back £250 and are fantastic btw.. But is there something out there (for ps4) that is better? Like top of the line premium? Not including the astros though because they will be the same as the turtle beaches really.. Also with the mixer amp things I've been reading about.. Is there away to (on ops3) to totally eliminate map noise effects? So I'm left with literally just the sounds of, gun shots, exo movement, footsteps, and the announcer saying uav inbound ect? Cheers guys

Taff
getting some of those a40 tr's tomorrow ,cant wait, anyway they have equalizer adjustments ,so if you have that it should do. right now i use my studio speakers on my desk which are outstanding by themselfs, nice stereo effects tell you which direction someones coming. i eliminate music and all voice overs ,use dead silence, and enhanced hearing, youll know when anybody is sneaking up behind you. Ian88
There's no setting to turn off map effects.. I've tried everything, I thought cinematics would do it but it doesn't.. I can already hear footsteps without awareness.. But I want 100% focus on gun fire, and other stuff..
cranium2001
Check audio. There's a spot in there to turn down the music and other things. It takes some digging.

But I want 100% focus on gun fire, and other stuff.. thats why you have to use the equalizer ,there's only a few basic rudimentary settings. when i get my headset today im gonna try and see what i can get out of the equalizer best settings and post them. Murdoch
I have had the astro a40 tr's for ps4 for a couple of weeks and they are incredible. I bought them on Amazon for $178 on sale just before thanksgiving.
fuzzy clam
The top of the line would be different...are you looking for a gaming headset (earphones, mixup and mic all in one package) or are you looking for true audiophile headphones and then get a separate mixamp and mic separate ? Ian88
Just the best gaming headset money can buy, separate things that can be bought would be a bonus
UK_Wildcats_Fans
I currently have the Turtle Beach 500p for PS4. They are good but not as comfortable as I would like. In addition, I have experienced several quality issues with TB headsets in the past (i.e. breaking). I saw a few topics on here about headsets, so it got me looking again. After doing a bunch of research and debating with myself. I just purchased the Sennheiser G4ME ONE and Astro Mixamp Pro TR. Head-fi.org has good recommendation guide with this one listed. It has great reviews, comfort, etc. I do like the integrated unit, and I will only use it for gaming.
Od1n
top of the line would be sennheiser/beyerdynamic headsets, none of astros, turtle beach, tritton or whatsoever gaming brand headset comes close to it though headphones are still better than the top level headsets
Xacebop
I spent a lot of time researching this but in the end didn't want to spend the money, I got ps4 golds for 50 bucks which are very close to top of the line. They are actually amazing btw. If money was no object the sennheiser hd598 would have been my first choice. They are very popular among gamers and pro sound guys, plus they got that velour fiber which I bet feels amazing
Zennon
There is quite a few threads now with us talking about great headphones for gaming so I wont go over it all again but an amp a clip on mic and a headfi set of headphones will always beat out a gaming head set. If all your used to is a gaming headset sound then that will do for the people that own it It is like a nirvana, once you have heard better up the chain you can never go back. iAmMoDBoX
You must have wrongly linked MB that is a pair of Sony headphones. ...Yeah, so? We are talking about headphones here... For a budget headset the MDRv6 is one of the best headphones on the market. Obviously I know you can get $3,000 sennheisers but for under $100 not many can match the V6's
Zennon
You said "with a good amp/dac that has an optical audio input" I was expecting a good amp and dac from the link so I thought you had miss-linked.. Sorry to upset you.

Nice, I bet its wicked on the Hd800 Ctap You must be an audiophile or headfi guy then, music will sound awesome with that set up. I use Beyerdynamic T1 or Sony Mdr900Ma and an astro mix amp nice soundstage on these for gaming.
Ian88
Mod box, there's no need for the attitude mate we are all talking nicely here.. Besides we are talking about premium elite models.. When I dropped 250 on my elite 800s I thought I was buying the best.. It's worrying that nobody has mentioned them or recommended them haha.. They are amazing though.. It's just I'm a greedy cunt and needs the latest tech haha.. Xacehop the sennheiser hd598 looks decent but definitely wouldn't hold a light to my elite 800s in regards to gaming.. Zennon, what are you rocking anyway?
