procreate
My nat was strict. I even went wired through my Nighthawk and same. I could party chat no problem. yeah, i am not sure what is happening with 3arc and NAT... it seems to be their problem as all other games are OPEN, only BO3 is MODERATE for me. Sgt-Greco
The game is OK. The baby of Black Ops and Modern Warfare passionate love. For me "ingame ping = netduma ping + 10 ms" (approx). Still a lot of testing to do though.
JConnor
What is interesting is this beta has no SBMM. So, a lot of the games are one-sided and end up like 126-46, if that? I've been on both the winning side and losing side and I have to say... This is how a semi-competitive game should be. Why? Because I mentally tracked my progress from the first game I played to the last and as I became more familiar with the maps, movement, etc... My scores and K/D went UP. Yes, there are better players than me for various reasons, but that's the point. SBMM isn't protecting me from getting stomped... Which makes me be a better player. This is SBMM's biggest flaw. You can't become a better player if you are forced to play those at the same skill. It's counter-intuitive, but true. The ONLY way you get better is by losing. This is statistical fact and I have both statistical and anecdotal evidence to prove this and debunk any who believe SBMM is good thing.
Buckeye Purple
@jconnor I totally agree with the sbmm comment. Pity it won't be long before the cry babies hit up twitter cause they got whooped.
procreate
I remember when i started out getting my ass handed to me and I'm a better player because of it. I got to see how better players played and learned from it. SBMM is the equivilant of participation trophies.

Zennon
I have found in the past on older titles when this has happened a reboot of the console sorts it. Might not have any correlation to this but its worth a go.
Alex49H
Is the game down again? Can't connect yet again. Stuck in search loop. They shut it off for a bit. They are trying to make reports on the good and the bad about the beta. Should be back up soon!

JConnor
The other comment I wanted to make on the Beta is... The three-lane map design may be predictable, but that's the point. Once you learn where the spawns and choke points are... Even just the general flow from one lane to the next... You'll learn map control and be a better player. Even in non-objective modes like TDM and KC. The biggest flaw of AW was trying to use the three-lane design with the Exos... Which negated that design. Three lanes funnel the players which means you can develop strategies and sixth senses of where you MIGHT engage in a firefight, so you are ready and can get the drop on your opponent, possibly. This is why pro players who are playing the beta say BO3 is far more competitive than AW because their teams can form real strategies because there is an identifiable flow and pattern to why things happen. No Exos also means actual power positioning on the maps because somebody can't (literally) jump over you and flank you in the blink of an eye. So, flow and map control is a logical in the literal and figurative sense. The irony is the Exos would be perfect for the Ghosts maps not just because of size, but because those maps got away from the three lane design and were more open. SHG main faux pa was trying to cram a game changing element into old map design... Whereas BO3 the movement and maps compliment each other like any well-thought out game should. Alex49H
I am liking it on the PS4 but just getting used to the controller which I like better than the "normal" Xbox controller! The Specialist do not seem OP at all. Sometimes I forget that I have the ability and don't use it. But need to play more. Pistols are viable again! Running Gung Ho and swapping between the primary and secondary is great especially when you want to clean up an injured enemy. I stI'll want to try the other game modes since I have only played TDM at the moment. We shall see. Can't wait to try it out on my Xbox One! JConnor
I remember when i started out getting my ass handed to me and I'm a better player because of it. I got to see how better players played and learned from it. SBMM is the equivilant of participation trophies. Here is the biggest irony Activision is blind to, IMO: The process of learning how to become better at something and succeeding is far more rewarding than just maintaining the status quoa. In layman's terms... I had FUN while getting my ass handed to me. This means the game itself is good (so far), and I can go at my own pace because I know I will never be 15 again, with the reflexes of a Cheetah hopped up on Redbull. However, I do get better the longer I play which also brings slight meaning back to the prestige system since it is based solely on time played and not actual skill. This "fun factor" is what I kept ranting about that is sorely missing in AW because everything in that game is handed to you. Add SBMM and AW is the most boring game for somebody who wants a challenge, or to actually learn how to become a better player. AW requires no real skill and has no real learning curve. The only skill you need is from past CoDs, but that's my point. BO3 is challenging me and allowing me to become a better player while still having fun which is the most important factor of any game, IMO. procreate
Well, quickscoping is definitely in the game and a real nuisance when you come across it. The SMGs so far suck balls which is so disappointing.
procreate
Ugh, pistols are typical OP 3arc troll crap again. pistols should NEVER win over an automatic weapon.
ziocomposite
I'm definitely getting the game! I also experienced the weird host lag for a good 20-30mins as well as the can't connect the party together. I did figure out tho is if you start a lobby by yourself (As go into a match) and your friend joins you, they are automatically part of the party, don't event need to back out
PharmDawgg
I haven't played the game but just listening what other people are saying. The game has the same Treyarch B.S. but it is FUN. That's what I'm hoping for.
Alex49H
I haven't run into snipers like in BO2 just AR and SMG using players. The people with bad connection actually do bad for the most part. But I liked what Hutch said in one of his vids "It's like MW2 and BO2 had a baby! You can actually get away and win gunfights." Hopefully it just gets better by the time of release! Dillinger
So, I have about 1.5hour commute, each way, each day, so I watch a lot of YT vids on the train and buses and have been following streams at work. All told, I have probably watched about 10-12 hours of gameplay from various sources so far and I have noticed a few things. 1) TTK: Time to kill might actually be a little high, but it seems like it takes an extra bullet or three to get that kill at range. I heard two YT'ers commenting on the range of the weapons and how it seems like there is bullet drop off, which I actually prefer. A pistol shouldn't be dominating beyond about 10 yards anyways. 2) Hellstorm Missile: That thing is a beast. I have seen many 4, and a 5, person feed in the kill list! That thing is definitely a cool streak now that it breaks into like 6 missiles! 3) Care Package: It takes 10 seconds to drop. So far it hasn't been an issue, but if you give me 8 seconds of notice that someone is dropping a package to get there, I can assure you I will be stealing plenty of care packages during the Beta. I won't however be running it as a streak. 4) Dart/New Hunter/Killer: Why? Why do I have to control it? I suppose it could be useful against campers or guys on a headglitch with an LMG, but what is wrong with the autoseeking version? 5) H.A.T.R. - What happened to the VSAT man? Don't know how I feel about this modification, but I am curious to try it out in game. 6) Snipers: Thank you Von! No, sincerely, THANK YOU! I haven't seen ANY quick-scoping bullshit in the game play that I have seen. I have seen more traditional sniper kills (hard scoping a lane or window) and I have seen a lot of misses. This is going to piss off the kiddies, but I love the hell out of the sniper rifles and their application in this variation of the game. +1 Von! Now the connection issues, the frame rates, and all the bullshit obviously needs some attention. But this is a Beta and they still have some time before launch, so I am going to remain positive. Dali86
The connection is terrible!!! It's definitely not the R1 because I tried everything to stop this ridiculous lag. I am thankful for playing the beta and I know now that I wont buy this game. Treyarch is known for their bad connection games and I don't want to deal with that anymore. I am done with COD and this feels great If anybody likes to play some Destiny Vanguard stuff write me a PN (Ps4). Psn Dali86 Can't wait for the taken king DLC. Zennon
You would think they would have the game running near to sweet so not to put off penitential buyers and people pulling the rug on pre-orders.

I don't disagree with the thought, but I have learned the really hard way thanks to my day job. Software that is running nice, neat and pretty will wait for the perfect opportunity to shit the bed on you. I hope that is all that is happening here with the reports of the lag. Well that, and the fact that only a small portion of the available players are going to be grinding this game, mid week, as opposed to how this will play over the coming weekend with a larger player pool. I do suspect the new title to have plenty of local P2P hosts when it drops in Nov.

JConnor
One thing I noticed while playing DOM... It appears the score is based off K/D and not taking flags? I noticed this because I capped six flags during a match, but had a horrible K/D... We're talking single digit/double digit... But I was LOWER on the scoreboard at the end then some other guy (gal?) who had mostly kills and FEWER flag caps & defends than I did. I hope somebody spots this because this is exactly why DOM was ruined in AW. SHG turned into "TDOM" instead of an objective based mode. As far connections... They are bad. Once again, it's not the Duma Army's fault. I'm seeing people with 200+ pings joining when I am pinging LESS than 20ms! That's just mentally hadicapped. I'm sorry, but it is. The only ones who can fix this are 3arch and Activision, but I doubt they will because they want "everybody" playing no matter how bad their connections are, and... The worse connection the better you do as always. My gut says they won't improve once retail hits, but then again, BO2 had bad connections and they DID fix those... Eventually.
