I'll be doing my Master Prestige run to finish this review off here in a couple of weeks, but I wanted to update the thread.

The Game:  Black Ops 2

Progress?  I have marched through from just before 2nd Prestige at the time of getting the Duma in December, to my current standing of Prestige 10, Level 40-ish.

K/D (Kill/Death Ratio):  I went from about 1.5 K/D, when everything was ideal and I was lobby shopping like a lunatic, to a legit 2.16 playing solo in just about every lobby they give me.  I have about 31K+ kills and just hit 14K deaths this past weekend on my primary account

SPM (Score per Minute): I rush and I play solo, without the benefit of party members giving call outs or putting up UAV/CUAV, so my score varies on a lot of external factors.  Having said that, I currently sit at just under a 300 score per minute.  That is a personal increase of 75-100 points per minute, which equals more score-streaks, higher score-streaks and better game play enjoyment.

My wife may be one of the most patient women on the planet, until about the 3rd game of me raving like a lunatic and bitching obscenities at some unknown player half the world away.  For those that have a significant other, you know the types of things I am talking about.  "Why do you play that game if it makes you mad?"  "Aren't there other games that are 'more fun' that you would enjoy playing?"   :(  With the Duma in place, not only do I not have to beg her not to stream Netflix or Amazon Prime (THANK YOU DUMA GODS!), but this leads to the next category that I feel is simply the biggest advantage to adding the Duma to my household.

Household 6 Factor:  My wife probably loves the Duma as much, or more, than I do.  1) - I don't hound her about streaming.  She can watch whatever she wants, whenever she wants, and it really has no perceived factor on my gaming experience.  During Christmas and Valentines, I had NO IDEA of the shear number of holiday related movies there were available.    With the Duma, she was able to watch them all without effecting my gaming.  2) - I am genuinely a much happier gamer, which makes everything easier.  A lot less rage inducing moments, a lot more satisfaction and enjoyment out of my gaming, with no cold shoulder when I am done.  This has been a great Quality of Life upgrade for the house as a whole.  If I had bandwidth sucking roommates or kids, this would be a NECESSITY in my mind.

Gameplay Results:

I'll have more screenshots when I hit Master Prestige, which should be within the next week or so.  More or less just an update on progress and a primer for the big MP reveal when I get there.   :P

Thank you to the entire Net Duma crew, you have a couple of satisfied customers here in the Pacific Northwest.

Thats so awesome to hear Dillinger! Awesome to see the duma has effects on households and generally making everyone happier!

Thanks Fraser - I really can't stress that point enough.  I am "just the average guy" that Ap0c was talking about in the video above.  I play an hour or two a night some days, and maybe I get a few hours in on the weekends, but I am basically a "casual gamer".

The ability to use the Congestion Control, prioritize my 360, and still give plenty of bandwidth to the TV, her laptop, or phone, is absolutely priceless in my mind!

If you share bandwidth with anyone in the house, they are going to thank you, and the Duma Gods, for getting this router.  Period.

Dillinger thanks so much man. I'm really glad you're enjoying all the features of the Duma.

As much work if not more went into the congestion control as the Geo-filter & I feel its a little underrated because its not so visually appealing and not such a dramatic change from other routers although underneath it is. It really is awesome that you and others are enjoying it to its full extent :)

Hey Iain - I definitely bought the router with the Geo-Filter in my mind as the "reason", but the Congestion Control has made home life so much better and drama free!  Now I can game, and my wife can stream whatever "Singing/Dancing/Annoying me Sideways" shows that she wants and it doesn't effect my gaming in any fashion I, as a "casual gamer" can even suspect.  Things run smoothly, she's happy and that just makes me happier as I have the Geo-Filter giving me gravy lobbies.

Sidenote:  The games I had last night after the patch update were almost criminal!  I have some screen shots for when I hit Master Prestige and complete this review, but ridiculous is the only way I can express it.  LOL

I love the congestion control and honestly, it's more important to me than the Geo-Filter (which of course is awesome as well).

Well said A7 - I never knew this was even a thing that was available to "just an average Joe" without a ton of networking experience or high end knowledge.  Now that I have it, I can't see myself ever setting up a system again without the features that this router has given me.

Thanks again Duma staff - Still loving your product, and am blown away by the support, four months into ownership!

The road has come to an end.  At least the Road to Prestige Master under the [DUMA] banner and presumably this review unless there is need/request for follow up or questions.

When I started this review I was the “average guy gamer” that Ap0ca1ypse referenced in the video on page 2 & 3 of this thread and had just received my NetDuma R1.  I am no star/MLG gamer, pub stomper or clan member that runs up scores in lobbies.  I have always played solo, so I get whatever the lobby gives in terms of teammates and opponents.

I never used to hit big streaks and I finished my first Black Ops 2 MP run at just under 1.00 K/D.

Yes, I sucked. J

I had played a full Master Prestige on Blops 2 on XB360, reset my account, played another 2+ Prestige’s and then switched to playing it on PS3.  After a week or so of being Enlightened [Enter the Duma], I switched back to 360 with the intent to do this run up to Master Prestige armed with the [DUMA], to see what, if any, effect it had on my stats (K/D; W/L; Headshots; Streaks Acquired; Etc).

When I got back to playing on the 360 my primary account was sitting just under the Level 3 Prestige (K/D of around 1.5-1.6).  As indicated on the first post, I noticed a large improvement right away (K/D shot up close to 3.0 and stayed there awhile).

After taking in some information from this thread, thanks Adam and Iain, I wanted to try to push my comfort level to see if the router would allow me to do things that I wasn’t proficient at, but still do them at a personal “acceptable” level.  This definitely lowered my overall stats, but I feel it was more of a comprehensive test.  Trying different classes, perks, weapons (I almost have a gold knifeJ), and tactics felt like the right way to do this evolution of testing.  I felt, the only way to know if the router would work for everyone as it worked for me, was to try to game in some of the most boring and difficult ways possible (like lying prone with an LMG, in spawn, on Nuketown ß this is a dick tactic)!

As such, let’s get the big mystery out of the way.  My final Master Prestige stats for Score per Minute, Kills, Deaths, K/D and Assists in TDM (most played game type)

And some of the medals earned in my travels:

The most noteable change for me (other than QUALITY OF LIFE) has been the overall play-ability of the game now, as opposed to how it was before adding the Duma.  I would have good games, after learning way too many things about the Meta game the hard way, but it was rare to have as many good games in a row as I have now.  Here are some examples during the MP run with the months they were captured:

December [DUMA] arrives in my life:

All significant categories went up, from Score per Minute to Wins to K/D to successful scorestreaks.  Even though I was playing with non-traditional classes, and trying out things I don’t really do in normal game sessions, it was not uncommon to have nights where going positive was all but a given.  Some nights I had better games, some nights I got too greedy and wanted to try hitting ridiculous scorestreaks in a short order game like TDM.

Overall Impressions:  I can’t really say enough good things about the Net Duma router, the game play performance, the customer support from the @NetDuma staff, but my highest praise is for the Congestion Control.  Unless you live by yourself in a LAN center, you have need for Congestion Control; you just may not know it yet.  This router works and it will give you great lobby connections so you can impose your will on the unsuspecting.  That alone is enough for me to recommend it, however...

I have said this time and again: The overall quality of life change for the positive in our house since we have added the [Duma] and set up the congestion control for all active devices has been so good that I can’t see myself ever trying to live without it again!  I can game, and usually have beast gameplays, while my wife is free to stream girlie shows and surf to the ends of the internet without causing me any perceivable lag or inconvenience.  If you don’t know how much that can mean in the whole “Happy Spouse = Happy House” book, just wait, your time is coming too. J

BONUS: Recently there was a special Double XP weekend for Black Ops 2 in relation to the announcement as Treyarch as lead developer for this year’s title (Black Ops 3).  As dumb luck would have it, I had a nephew in town who was staying with us, who is also a gamer.  Now when he was a whole lot smaller, he and I used to play a ton of HALO on the original Xbox (the brick).  So he has pretty much been a gamer since he was just out of diapers.  Now he plays a lot of GTA and plays a ton of Battlefield, but hadn’t touched CoD since Ghosts first came out.  He didn’t like Black Ops 2 when it was the official title.  He was familiar enough with the game to discuss it and tell me everything that was wrong with it.  After telling him about the [DUMA], and showing him some of my stats on my primary account, he wanted to try it out.

These are the combined stats that we, trading on and off, amassed over a good, long family weekend that also included a lot of Blops 2 time.

I won’t say I won him over, but he definitely was the first one on the system on Saturday and Sunday mornings, long before the rest of us got up and got breakfast going. J

Final thoughts:  As of this writing Black Ops 3 has been officially announced.  [Duma] members, whom I refer to as Enlightened, know that the infamous “dedicated servers” are not necessarily the ultimate answer to a good gaming experience.  They sound great on the surface, but you can get MUCH better connection to local player hosts, provided that player host has good internet.  If you get a bad one, you just give it an unsatisfactory rating and put it in the blocked area of the Geo-Filter.  That will handle your connection problems, and I talked about the quality of life improvements, but perhaps you need a real world reason to purchase one?

For those that don’t know what you are looking at, these are new accounts most likely purchased after the users got their initial accounts banned by XBLive for cheating.  10 Achievement points is what you can unlock from Xbox by playing multiplayer on a game like CoD without actually putting in any time and grinding the game.  It’s a gimme by reaching level 10 in multi-player called “Welcome to the Club”.

In the case of these two fine, young, upstanding player-partners, they both had modded controllers and were going from game to game, lobby to lobby, and they were doing pretty well.  The first game I encountered them, I wasn’t ready (see low game in series) and had to fight to get back to even.  I’m talking the split-second, face-melting quick-scopes, unbelievably fast reloads w/ rapid fire on their back up SMGs.

You have all seen these types, right?

Second game was closer as I began to get the hang of how they played and then we dropped in on Express, a map I don’t love, but I seem to do alright on it.

This was a (3) re-rolled care package, 4 sentry gun gameplay, with an escort drone as the first re-roll out of the gate.  This was their rage-quit game:

So, you are on the edge and wondering if you should spend money on this router?  Well, can you do that to a pair of Cod Cheats on your own?  If not, I have to ask.

HOW is the @NetDuma NOT for you?  J

Just to add this router is a gaming router not a black shit ops router(battlefield player), I play ufc2 on this and it's priceless stopping me connecting to people so far out of my region it's unreal,so if you play games like ufc and FIFA then this is the trick for non lag gaming ,also I see a better hit response on bf4 even though those servers are dedi....done

Well you could have just set the search preference to best. BO2 has that option you know?

You're new here and don't yet understand how the Duma works, huh?  LOL

Explain me how does it work?

I haven't played the game for awhile so can't confirm either way if that option is in there. If it is, it will not be looking to get you the closest possible servers, it will look for the most "acceptable" connection whereas we can filter so you get only local servers giving you the best possible connection.

I'm sure Dillinger will correct me if this isn't what he was referring to.

Nope, that about covers it.  The local host setting has a preset for "acceptable" - With the Duma, the power of what is "near" and what is "acceptable" is entirely in your control.

If you get a bad host, or a host where the guy is connected through his phone to try and game the Lag Comp or other fuckery, you just give him a low rating and move on.  You don't have to keep replaying on bad hosts.  With the game setting, you have no such power, thus why rely on it?
