I'm afraid we haven't heard anything as yet, we'll need to follow up with NG and see where they are with it as it's on their side.

Okay thanks. Hopefully we will get something very soon.

Yesterday was the worst day yet. Disconnected 10 times..10 restarts...I'm coming to the point i might just buy a new router.

Seems like you guys are getting nothing from netgear. If netgear can't even get the one feature a router is good at first correct then i dont think its a company i want to be involved with. Netduma are great tho.

Really sorry to hear this, I can understand how frustrating it is. It's one of those issues that's really hard to diagnose exactly so I suspect that's why it's taking so long. We really appreciate your patience.

The thing thats more frustrating is that seems netgear are silent...i even called them for support and there wanted me to pay 150 pound for a support contract.

They're aware of the scale of the issue and I believe they're handling it with the appropriate priority, have you looked into the possibility of an RMA?

I see, you can open a ticket directly with Netgear at support.netgear.com, though I'm not entirely sure how you initiate the RMA process with them or what the terms of this are.

Well today as been a nightmare so far. DHCP has decided to re-lease itself 5 times today. restart the router each time. I'm getting netgear/Netduma until the end of this month and then my 6 years of being a Netduma device owner will come to an end.

This has been going on since 23rd March 2021. Sorry but this is should be a quick patch for netgear to push out. Like i have said many times before I really like netduma but this is getting frustrating and its making netgear and netduma look a bit of a laughing stock.

Sorry to hear that, I know they're looking at it but I haven't got a status update unfortunately just yet

I appreciate that netduma is the middle man in all of this but one of the main features of a router is to be able to use DHCP. You would have thought it would have been marked as an urgent fix needed.  Its been 4 months now with no sign of a fix in sight. Well hopefully it comes and it comes fast.

We really appreciate your patience and understanding with this, we get that it's very frustrating. We'll be sure to post as soon as we have an update on where they are with the issue.

5 Months now with DHCP issues. One of the main features of a router. Surely there will be a firmware update soon.

We'll follow up with Netgear and see where they are with this issue, apologies again for the inconvenience this has caused!

Tbh i feel sorry for the Netduma staff. You guys take all the shit from frustrated people. Net gear just sit there and take peoples money without even offering any support.

Do Netduma have decent stock of there new R2 Router?

I love my R2 for my gaming as i run two routers my Netgear is getting replaced with the dream machine security looks crazy from Unifi.

Disappointed to hear its a two month waiting time.

I’ve a UDM, there’s no DMZ on it so don’t plan on hooking up the R2 to it and it’s UI is very messy. It has way more bugs than any Netduma router. It’s WiFi is average, very low throughput on the 2.4 and 5Ghz is average at best. You can’t turn the AP off either.

Oh damn.

I thank you you response looks like ive just missed a bullet lol

Don’t get me wrong it’s stable but it’s very messy with 2 UIs that you have to swap about to get to settings and downgrading is not as easy as others. It’s QoS is not a touch on Duma, it’s using fq CoDel but the latest firmware has seen issues with it and there’s an annoying bug if you mess with WiFi the upload under QoS fails to work until you reboot the router.
but the best bit is it’s bandwidth allocation QoS that’s there if you don’t want to use smart Queues [fq CoDel) and that only works on WiFi connected devices so pointless to a degree.

the Pro version has issue with PPPoE and it can’t handle a gig and there’s some very upset people on their forum and I can’t set mine up with my PPPoE connection, it all has to be done manually which takes a wired connection. Memory leaks, high CPU the list is endless but some get on ok but it’s a flip a coin router and hope for the best. They knock out Betas all the time but the proof is in the pudding. Constant updates don’t guarantee quality sadly.

If you do, you can use the XR as an access point in the meantime so it still has some use for you until a new firmware is released for it.

Yeah ive installed a dream machine for Client before and I agree with the UI being messy. Only reason why I was going to go with the Dream Machine is because everything in my current network is Unifi.

24 Port POE Switch

5 Internal Unifi AP

2 External Unifi AP

As you have all their gear then it makes sense as it will make use of all the features. I checked a supplier I use and both the UDM and UDM pro are in stock but the UDM pro SE is only available direct from Ubiquiti.

Are you planning to still run the XR through it?

No, If I was to go with the XR2 then I would not bother with the Dream Machine.

I'm after the UDM Pro SE.. Ubiquiti told me it was a 2 month wait to get this model. I have tried  a few suppliers i use and there have all said you can only get it directly with Ubiquiti.

It was on the store the other day but you have to be quick but as it’s EA the hardware may change on the final version.
