thisisreallife
Hey all. Believe it or not certain games reward you slightly for having worse connection. I currently have 30/10 connection and want to nerf it. How can I do that please?
N3CR0
Change your CC silders down until you get that them speeds. Or use the flower if you only want them speeds on your console/PC.
Administrators Netduma Alex Posted March 24, 2020 Administrators Share Posted March 24, 2020 If you use the flower as suggested above, you'll need to disable Share Excess. I would recommend turning the speeds right down on Congestion Control/Anti-Bufferbloat, then setting it so that they only enable when priority traffic is detected. You can then change the Traffic Prio panel so that the only prioritized thing is the game you want to play.
A1_Boston
Wow, you're throttling your connection down a lot! Wish you the best!
Bert
Buy a cheap managed switch, put that between your router and PS4 and set port limits to these values. Then you don't disturb the rest of the network. I doubt it will work for you though. If you bring down your CC sliders or flower graph and you run QoS at the same time, QoS will fix it for you and the game will play as normal. Just everything else on your network will suffer. So how do I get around it? What is a cheap managed switch by the way?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 26, 2020 Administrators Share Posted March 26, 2020 The bandwidth allocation option would be the best free way to do this without severely limiting all your other devices.
