Cloud Update

In fact, some years ago I bought a gear called "Lagbuster" wich was basically an antibufferbloat that priorisate game packets. But the same people who sold this gear gave you some instructions to avoid lag compensation in the most common on-line games. Of course, there was CoD, and the way to avoid lag-conp was introducing artificial lag by a feature in the lagbuster.

Here's a video of how it worked

By the way, I think this firma does not exist anymore

Yeah I can see how this might be a useful stopgap for when the cloud isn't working.

Might be the kind of thing you have to enable from an advanced settings menu or something. Basically so it's there as a tech support option.

Why would this be in an advanced setting section lol its just a simple minimum ping assist value, its not exactly advanced. This noob friendly society we living in is getting crazy 😀

Advanced might be the wrong word... Maybe I should have said "esoteric"

We already have systems like that in place. IP addresses and domain names are used to figure out what kind of server something is.

The mislocated servers thing is certainly an issue. The Geo-Filter database is automatically updated from various repositories of server locations, but when those fail, we have to go in manually and move servers around. Given enough time, server locations usually get corrected by themselves, but we do it manually when needed.

In the future i'd like to see either an integrated reporting feature in DumaOS, or perhaps the ability to move servers around locally, so that users could fix problems for themselves.

Unfortunately right now, these things must be done manually. We do cloud updates every two weeks or so, which means that things are always being updated, but sometimes it takes a while to catch a mislocated server.

I still have misplaced servers and dedicated servers showing as peer servers etc. I have reported a few via the mis located server form but things don't seem to be improving for COD MW at all. Today alone I found 13 mislocated servers!!

All showing as central America but with a ping of 15 here in the UK. Central America would be more like 80 - 120'ish to me.

Any news of when the cloud update will be available?

It would be nice to see a Pinned [Sticky] post, through which the Admin's can mention when there was an update to the cloud last. It doesn't have to be open to discussion; just somewhere where we can look and check when the last update was. Like a firmware update Pinned post.

As things stand, we have no idea if the cloud was last updated in the last day, week, month...

Fair point. Might start doing this next time an update is sent out.
