bufferbloat help

1st of all, gaming on ps4 or any other console uses a tiny ammount of bandwidth so giving that much bandwidth is basically overkill and pointless.

reset share excess and leave it alone.........what are your isp speeds, provider and modem/router the duma is connected to?

If you want to test for bufferbloat it needs to be over ethernet through a pc and not a console browser and if you are doing it through the console browser you are doing it all wrong.

ok.  Make sure you have reset share excess and they are both enabled for upload and download. The 70/70% rule in anti flood is only a guideline as all connections are unique due to distance, quality of connection isp,the list is endless.

do a speedtest at speedtest. net roughly 6 times and write the results down, work out your average upload and download speed results and then input 95% of those totals into bandwidth settings and when prompted if you want duma to make changes click NO.

now for the painful task.....reduce you anti flood sliders 3 or 5% at a time after running a bufferbloat test to see which gives you the best result.

an A or A+ is what you are after but so long as you arent getting ping spikes on the upload then you will be fine as it is the upload that is your hit detection.

my speeds i actually get are 75/18 so i put in the bandwidth settings 67.5 and 16.4 as that is 95% of my average speeds.

Hi.

Did you turn turbo mode on or off?, I dont have download speeds like your's but I understand that for those speeds you should also try super turbo mode but I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong on that!  Have you tried gaming with that last setting you posted?

I get A+ across the board, what i do is go into my Modem and get my speeds from there and enter those into the Duma. I then set my CC to Upload 80% and Download 90%, try that and see what you get.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

I wouldn't worry about bufferbloat at all, it only happens when your connection is saturated. With the speeds you have and with CC enabled you're not going to experience it.

OK so if why even if I use all the recommended settings or go by searching which one works for me. Why I never get good results for buffebloat?

Well not only is it not terribly accurate, but there's also a lot of variables. Having your anti-flood set to 70/70 or there abouts should nullify the effects of bufferbloat anyway. Just make sure you're put the speeds you are receiving into "Set Bandwidth" and you should be fine - regardless of what the bufferbloat test states. It's all about how the game actually feels, and the actual effects on your other devices.

bonjour,
