Hayzer
Can anyone help me solve this Problem? When I run the Internet diagnosis test these are my results: Ping: Bad Jitter: Good Spikes: Exceptional Packet Loss: No Loss I'm kind of a dummy when it comes to this kind of stuff, I bought the netduma for a slight improvement in my online experience but it feels the same if not a bit worser than it was before and I felt like I just threw $200 away or maybe I just don't know how to configure it and it's kind of disappointing. If anyone could help me, I would provide all the information needed to help me in any way to solve this problem.
II N3MES1S II
You did not waste your money trust me, this device is a beast with the software Netduma put together. Get to know the router likes its your gaming console and you should get it running fine. I'm sure a staff member will be here shortly.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 23, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 23, 2017 Hey, welcome to the forum! The internet diagnostics test can indicate and issue with your line or it could be the Google servers misbehaving as they sometimes do. I would recommend using a program called PingPlotter to test your line to see if it is an issue. We guarantee the best connection possible when setup correctly. Please provide us with the screenshots asked for here and we'll be better able to optimise your settings: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022425-lag-support-instructions-to-post-on-the-forum-

Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted January 25, 2017 Netduma Staff Share Posted January 25, 2017 Hi! Right... So I installed ping plotter but have no idea what I'm looking at. Also that 192.168.1.1 link to access the Interface doesn't work for me. Appreciate the response! Hey, just wanted to see how you're getting on with Pingplotter? Also, here's some settings you could try out: - 1000km Distance - 0 Ping Assist - Strict Mode On - 70% anti-flood - Put your device in Hyper Traffic (in Congestion Control) - Share excess enabled - Reset device prioritisation & apply - Disable deep packet in misc - Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds. Alternatively, if you want to connect to decent games even when they're a bit further away, set the Ping Assist to 50ms and turn strict mode off. Zennon
Use ping plotter but ping a closer IP address. Google that Netduma use and PingPlotter.com are quite some distance from you. Search for something closer, have a look Here
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 27, 2017 If you do the above that will give us a better idea of your base ping. In terms of Geo-filter, you're blocking out a lot of games there. I would recommend having your radius setup something like this:

Hayzer
Okay so 3 months later the ping is still an issue, but it's different now for some reason. Back in February I had a problem with my ping being Bad, now during the day time hours my ping registers as "Ok" I can play but the delay I get (I play NBA 2k17 and gameplay evolves around timing your shot with a shot meter and that's where the ping and all that come in to play along with all aspects of the game) I can feel it being a bit delayed but I'm used to it but I feel like I'm playing on an ice rink not having control completely of the whole game since it's all I can deal with given my current situation. But for some reason around 5am or really late at night my ping registers as "Good" and I can tell there's a big difference in timing my shot and overall game plays feels so much smoother I actually miss my shots sometimes because of how I am so used to playing during the day. Is there any reason for it to change like that? How do I keep it on a "Good" ping all 24 hours? I apologize in advance for my recent comments and hope you guys could help me. Thanks. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 18, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 18, 2017 Okay if that is the case then it definitely sounds like an issue caused when it's peak time. It's likely the ISP oversubscribed in your area so you get the best experience when not many people in your area are online. Also the Internet Diagnostics test just pings google which can misbehave sometimes so would definitely try a ping plotter test as well over different times of the day
fuzzy clam
As said above, your ISP probably oversold (they go door to door now) when they have new service to a neighborhood. And if you have cable that makes it even worse. I would run PP at peak times and then again at like 2 in the morning on a quiet network and then run it on a busy network and see if the results vary, if they do they your one step closer to identifying your problem and then you can take the next step in hopefully getting it fixed. Hayzer
Would you recommend switching ISPs then? I'm leaning towards that right now and we do have cable installed but we don't even use it.

Like Fraser said I would check out your set up and everything else possible on your end before you switch ISP's. If you run PP and the results are bad and your graph looks like a heart monitor of someone going into cardiac arrest and you have tested it as suggested in the other posts, then it might be something to think about. But until you run the proper tests,I wouldn't as it might be something that's a somewhat easy fix.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 22, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 22, 2017 Okay so your Ping (shown by google at least) fluctuates quite a bit and at it's peak is 45ms so this is very high. This means your game ping would probably be at least 55-65ms. Your Geo-filter settings are way too strict. I would raise your distance to around ~1000km and put your ping assist up to 65ms. Check this for why nothing is shown on the map: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022408-why-can-t-i-see-anything-on-the-geo-filter- On PingPlotter did you ping yourself? That's not an accurate test to determine if there is anything wrong with your line. You would need to ping a website/server address that is close to you or something like Twitter.com. Also even though you pinged yourself you got some big spikes so I would check your ethernet cables to make sure there's no issue there.
