Chf Wiggum
I am not sure what I am doing wrong I have tried 100 different settings and it still seems if I just connect my ethernet strait to the Xbox from the modem I have a smoother game experience. Sometimes I can tell I am at a disadvantage and I want the host radius selecting tool but it seems like the NetDuma cuts my speed in half and makes the connection even worse. I have 150mbps down 25mbps up and have NOTHING else connected to this connection other than my XBOX. I need the absolute best settings to optimize my connection. I am going to give it a couple more tries and then I am selling my Duma because it seems to be better with out the router even hooked up how can this be? Thanks
velloonythedeity
I understand the frustration, but of course. You are going to have a better connection from the modem straight to the xbox because theirs no one else pulling bandwidth from your network but your xbox. In order for you to get your actually speeds that you pay for on the duma. you have to go to "Congestion Control" and turn on "Reactive" instead of "Preemptive", Also go into the "Miscellaneous" tab which is under the "Settings" tab, and Check "Turbo Mode". "Side Note" - Make sure to have an "Hyper Traffic Service" enable for the xbox. Keep in mind, the "Netduma", only stops you from lagging not other players. But once you finish doing everything, I listed above. Try changing your "DNS Sever" on the xbox. I have done this same thing with my ps4 and have wonderful hit detection. Here's a video on how to find the best "DNS Server" for you - And if you are having frame drops, try switching out your "HDD Drive" in the xbox with an "SDD Drive". Here's An "SSD Drive" I Recommend -https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B4NUKME/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Also, I recommend switching out your stock "Cable Modem" from your "Internet Provider". I Recommend This Modem - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YUU5628/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=
michael1983
Same to me. Cable Internet 70/7 for my Ps4. Ever thing else go to a separat Adsl line with separat Modem. I have two Providers with seperat line throw my walls and was i discover 2 knots outside on the street. I try so much settings, ping Plotter is fine and dslreports.com tripple A+. Without Netduma and this current sloppy firmware( portforwarding and hostfiltering= no response from Browser) it plays so crisp. i have to say with this firmware i am very disapointet with Netduma. Thanks You'll have incorrect settings, follow this for speed: Reactive Algorithm 100% anti-flood Share excess enabled Reset device prioritisation & apply Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc Disable deep packet in misc Enable turbo mode Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds. Do a wired speed test from a PC If you only the Xbox connected to the R1 then congestion control will not work correctly. You need to have ALL devices connected to the R1. fuzzy clam
IMO your set up is not correct, read the set up instructions, the WIKI and the links people posted. If the router is set up incorrectly in your home network of course it won't work as it's suppose to...as it's not properly configured. I'm not trying to be an asshole ( even thou that's how it's coming off) but one of the biggest mistakes we see on the forum are people not configuring the duma properly and then it doesn't work correctly and then people complain about it not working. It just needs to be set up correctly so you can enjoy all the features it has to offer. But can you answer me 2 Questions please. 1. Can i use 1-65535 for Portforwarding? 2. Do I really need Hyper Lane when my Ps4 is the only device with my Cable Internet, everything else run threw a sepreat line ( Adsl)? Thank you and sorry that i didn't start a new threat! !!!!!!!! Thank you Fuzzy i know the Comunity is one of the best. From my site i think i know my correct settings. Disable Ipv6 set, my perfect homelocation an PA to 0, hyper lane, Conquestion control, everything connect to Netduma and man more. And my ISP works very great for me and i checked it with Ping Plotter for days. No jitter or Packet loss. I think the the present firmware is "buggy" i give all my hopes for mid Feb. Chf Wiggum
Thanks for the posts, I have the current updated settings from Fraser. The only game I play lately is GOW4. Couple things, If I do about a 100 mile radius it looks like it connects to a server real close to the house than as it tries to put me in the game it times out. I did this one night for about an hour just to see if it was possible to play games only Super close to me but looks like this is impossible. Can you please explain this? It seems like I need 10-15 circles to secure a server everytime or about 800-1,000 miles, I thought the purpose of the router was to select who you want to connect to. So I keep it at about a 600 mile radius from Chicago and 0ms on ping assist and strict. It still times out but usually do this 2-3 times and I will get a server at around 500 miles away. The connection is not bad but can tell I am at a disadvantage. IF I connect strait to system from the modem sometimes I am at a disadvantage but every once in a while, I will get connected or I am the host (I can't tell because I don't have the Duma but where I can tell It's even game or even sometimes I'm at a huge advantage.) I guess my question is there a way to connect closer or can I be the host on games I want to play. How do I replicate a great server experience every time? I understand if this is not possible, but I don't get how if I put my radius in to 250-350 miles why it connects, or at least I think because the circle goes BIG than when connecting to the game the circles go down and it kicks me out. I have it set up correctly its not bad it just seems like my connection runs faster with out it. The entire reason for the duma is for a better gaming experience and to connect to servers close to you to eliminate ping. I have to leave my radius quite large in order to connect and even than seems as though I am at a disadvantage. I know this because when I am the host or the game is even you can just tell I go 5-1 sometimes 10-1 KD Ratio vs when things are bad and your at a 1-10 KD. BENORMOUS
Under settings on gears of war 4 you choose which server you want to play on,if I were you and being a GOW4 fan/player myself I'd disable the geo filter for that game and simply just use the CC sliders to avoid any local congestion, choose your server in settings on the game and enjoy
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 24, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 24, 2017 I've recommended that for Gears of War you disable the Geo-filter as it will match you in the region you have selected in it's options. Then as above make sure you're using 70/70 anti-flood and hyper traffic.
