Netduma won't fix my lag

So i bought the R1 gaming router and i did set it up its connected to my main router/modem and my playstation's LAN cable is connected to r1 router but it feels like its not working for me. I put the area where i can find host to 2556.00km and i tried to do ping diagnosis and it said Ping is terrible, jitter is terrible, spikes terrible and Pocket loss is no loss. My NAT type is still moderate and first game i played IW the lag was ridicilous. I hope i can get some help as soon as possible because i have 2 days to get my moneys back but i really hope that you can help me to fix my lag.

Thank you!

the 1st thing you should do in the geo filter is set it to your location, not 2500km away. make sure your ps4 is set up in the geo filter for playstation network and the same in hyper traffic.....set the port for that on playstation, advanced and port 3074 tcp/udp source. Also what is your connection? Have you placed the wan ip of the duma into your router/modem's DMZ?

With your test results showing terrible I would run pingplotter for a few hours and make sure its not your line at fault.

IW is terrible for many players, myself included. Try Big-Dogs advice but I would also deffo run a pingplotter test

Hey, welcome to the forum!

I believe you're in Finland is that right? Otherwise I would have recommended a smaller radius but that is probably good for you. The internet diagnostics test can indicate issues with your line. I would try bagsta's advice to see if this is the case.

Follow this for NAT: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022359-how-do-i-open-my-nat-

Please provide us with the screenshots from this guide as it will help us optimise your settings: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022425-lag-support-instructions-to-post-on-the-forum-

How to take a screenshot & upload it: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022394-how-do-i-take-a-screenshot-

Also why do you only have 2 days to return it? You have just received the router. You have 14 days once you receive the item.

I have literally no idea what or how this pingplotter works and where do i use it. No idea what is hyper traffic or how to change my DMZ. Im actually really bad with this kinda stuff. Also in my geo-filter i don't see where the host is located. Where do i post my screenshots? I don't know i might just return it and suffer with the lag because i have no idea what to do.

Nobody should have to suffer lag; we'll help you with all of that stuff. So if you could upload screenshots literally on this page that would help us to see if your settings are correct. Hyper Traffic is located at the bottom of the "congestion control" page - you simply put your console in there, and that'll mean that console gets priority. On the Geofilter, the host is always the largest circle on the map. (We're making this easier to see in our next update.) It should be large compared to everything else; the other circles will be players connected to the host.

So with DMZ, you need to copy your WAN IP, which is located in the "Device Manager" page on the Netduma. Once you've done that, go into the interface for your ISP Hub (Modem) and paste that IP into the DMZ box. The DMZ section should usually be under firewall or security settings on any Modem.

As for Pingplotter, that's a piece of software you can grab for free (I believe there's a paid version, but you won't need that.) It'll look complex at first, but you won't need to understand everything on the page. It's great for proving whether stuff like Jitter and Spikes are happening because of your line being bad. If your line is bad, that's not your fault, and unfortunately the Netduma can't fix it - it's an issue with the wires coming into your house from the street.

Check out this tutorial for Pingplotter:

We'd recommend running Pingplotter on a site like Twitter (with nothing else open) for about 2 hours. That'll not only give you really accurate stats about your connection, but also give you evidence to use should you need to tell your ISP about the problems you're having.

I don't have my PS4 in the devices. Theres only couple MacBooks, my iPad, my iPhone but theres two nameless devices. But when i choose my MacBook theres option after select service "choose game" and there is option playstation network. So do i choose MacBook and playstation network or should i have different device which should be called PS4?

One of those nameless devices are likely to be the PS4. Look in device manager and make a mental note of the IP it shows. Then go on the network settings of the console and find out what the IP is. Match it to the nameless device shown on the device manager, then click edit and rename it to PS4. Then select in on the Geo-filter and select playstation network.

Follow this guide it will resolve that issue: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022408-why-can-t-i-see-anything-on-the-geo-filter-

Would be very helpful if you could provide the screenshots asked for and we can advise further from there.

Thank you for helping all, im gonna look these couple days and if im lagging i will send the screenshots. Is that okay? One more time thank you :)

Of course it's ok to send screenshots, the community is here to help you out. There are tons of knowledgeable people on here who will bend over backwards to assist people having issues.

Hopefully as you get more familiar with the duma, you will become more comfortable with it.

Keep us posted on your results

It feels like when i placed my R1 everything is getting slower. I plased my Wan ip in the DMZ box. How do i get screenshot from full page? Do i have to take all wires from my main router to my R1? Does it matter if i take pictures with my phone and post them here instead of screenshots?

Cod will forever a broken game and the netduma exposes how bad cod really is. Terrible servers awful tick rates and awful lag compensation which in my opinion punishes everybody with a low network ping
