TheMack_Is_Here
So I'm new to netduma, but I am very up to date on everything for the most part. I played bo3 and IW with the same settings and IW is so trash for hit detection compared to bo3. 70/70 l, 100/10, 10/10 I've tried all the cc's you can think of. I need help bc I need to wreck in this game!!!!

The purpose of congestion control is to limit the maximum amount of bandwidth that can be used so people in your house can't saturate your connection which would cause your ping to increase. If you want to know why you can't hit anything, watch this...
TheMack_Is_Here
Okay cool. I was throttling the connection to get an A or A+ bufferbloat heard that helps with hit detection. I will watch it. thanks

greiz11
need help. my download speed is 9-12mbps and upload is 573kbps. what should my best geo-filter setting be? i found that for IW 40-50ms worked great. I've been able to a lot of 15-25 gun streaks on it. b03 I would be able to gets nukes around 20. But now no matter what I seem to lag a bit and have been getting melted often even by sitting back more or rush.

bbursley
What's the benefit of Port forwarding over upnp?
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted December 21, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted December 21, 2016 What's the benefit of Port forwarding over upnp? UPnP opens ports automatically for that device, whereas Port Forwarding requires you to manually select which ports become open (Though in this way, port forwarding can cater to specific needs.) That's the basic difference; so I'd say the benefit is being able to open ports for specific games rather than relying on an automatic system which sometimes gets it wrong. bbursley
Yeah that's true. You don't suppose that port forwarding is maybe more reliable and consistent?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 22, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 22, 2016 Yeah that's true. You don't suppose that port forwarding is maybe more reliable and consistent? It will ensure that those ports are always open for that device. Whereas UPnP will not open them all unless it detects that it needs it. So it's up to you really. PharmDawgg
Port forwarding = single device you're trying to get an open nat for Upnp = multiple devices you're trying to get open nat for Upnp doesn't always work that well because the games do not request the appropriate ports all the time. And that is on the game developers.
fuzzy clam
Exactly what Buck said, if the game doesn't request the port or ports to be opened then they won't be opened (dev thing not a duma thing) You can always check on your duma under settings > UPnP after the game is launched and see which ports are opened. With that being said the duma does a really good job of opening the required ports and as long as I got an open NAT I just use UPnP.But if you have a moderate or strict NAT,then maybe you should give manual port forwarding a try.
