Netduma r1

Recommended Posts

Hi I just got my hands on netduma r1 so my modem is another router and I don't have a certain speed so for example one sec I have 10mbps and anothe sec is 20mbps so what speeds should I put in the bandwidth and do I enable hyperlane with congestion control on 70 percent

So how I setup my router for netduma cause my modem is another router

And how to update the router

follow the guide above, do you know what speed you are paying for? for example, my isp or the internet speed that I'm paying for is 60/4 but when I go to the http://www.speedtest.net/my speed results is 65/4.38 so I input those results in the duma's CC or Congestion Control after that I apply Update Bandwith and choose Yes for automatic speed setting and you are done.

Provide more info about your ISP and so on, so anybody in here can get you in the right track without sweating one bit.

if you just received your router you shouldn't need to update it.  Check and make sure the last letter on your firmware version is H or G.  If you have H you have the most up to date version. If you have G you will have to wait until the next update this fall like the rest of us sorry suckers

Both g & h are identical firmware apart from and updated EULA in the h so do not worry about any wait.

That's very strange that it fluctuates so much and they don't have a certain speed that you at least pay for. If it is 4G that makes sense.

I would take an average of all the speeds you're getting and input that into bandwidth settings.

Would recommend 70/70 anti-flood and console in hyper traffic yes.

Would a adsl with 4mbps down and 1up will be good or nah

Gaming requires very little bandwidth, so this application would be fine for gaming.  If you have housemates that may be streaming videos (YouTube or Netflix) that would cause issues I suspect.  But for just gaming, this would be fine.

Another question guys I operate one device at a time so when I play ps4 the only thing is connected to my netduma is my ps4 but it shows my my xbox one to in devices under the green sliders so I should give my ps4 a 100

Just as others have said gaming takes very little bandwidth. The biggest thing to remember is with your internet speeds if someone else is ever on you network at the same time your gaming make sure your congestion control sliders are set to give you the best experience in game.I can't tell you exactly what those setting are as everyone's network is different but start with 70/70 and go from there.

I would try enabling UPnP on the duma after you disable those features on your other router,it seems to handle it pretty well.

And if it works for you then you saved yourself some work by not having to manually port forward.

Just make sure you enable it in both miscellaneous and UPnP and click apply
