How to fix Packet Loss? DSL says F quality?

Well here's the thing. The Duma is set to only use connections that are wired. The only things that are connected to the Duma are my ps4 and my computer, which are wired. Everything else is connected through another router. So there shouldn't be a problem connection wise, THATS why i'm saying it seems to be  apacket loss problem. I can't use ping plotter anymore because the trial is done, is there anything i can do at this point?

They're talking about peak-time congestion in your area, rather than inside your home. Like when all the neighbourhood kids get home from school and everyone gets online after work etc.

You can still use ping plotter after the trial it will only do a ten minute plot though.

Yea but again, I'm probably saying this for the third or fourth time, When I used DSL Reports to adjust the settings to get better gaming, I constantly get an F in quality, which means Packet loss (thats what the website says). It can't be peak-time congestion, unless you think that's what's causing the packet loss. I need to know if theres a way to get from an F in quality to an A+

I know it's a stupid question but are you adjusting your sliders while running your DSL Reports ? Has to be a way to get you higher that an F for quality unless your line is just really bad.

No lol, i usually keep both up and down at 25 (which got me the A+ for an hour and then it went back to F as soon as a realized something didn't seem right) I never touch the sliders when I test it out, I keep it the same, let the test do it's thing, and that's it. It probably is the line but i dont know that for a fact yet

Packet loss can manifest from ISP congestion I will say this again ;) we need to see some ping plotter proof to say whether you have it or not.

oh alright, but how can i use ping plotter to get proof if it only registers 10 minutes because of the trial ending?

10 mins is enough you can do multiple plots at peak and off peak.

This is all i can give for now, but i dont really see anything wrong from ping plotter. I really do believe there is a problem with the packet loss. If it wasnt packet loss, i dont think that the website would be saying its a packet loss problem. Do you think that i should call my isp provider and see if they can find anything?

When i was testing with DSL reports if my quality grade was bad (packet loss) all i did was increase my download speed and it would improve my grade.

You don't have a packet loss problem. Some routers will not respond to ICMP requests which is what you're seeing.

You do have a 10ms ping with 10ms of jitter. The jitter is most likely your problem. It helps when looking at PingPlotter results to include the columns Min and Max to show everyone your jitter.

just take a screenshot after you have 10mins on the graph (right click the graph to change it from the 1 minute default) and then you can keep taking screenshots after each 10mins has elapsed.

Don't worry if there are some gaps while you were getting your dinner ;)

A few plots should help us see if there are any problems.

-edit. Didn't realise this was sorted now - you can disregard my post.

Well there is still a little problem lol. Rob was right, if i bring the download up more it wont have an F grade, but now my problem is that no matter what CC slider settings i use, I can never seem to get my quality to an A+, but only to an A. Rob, is there any way I can adjust anything to get an A+? Is there a trick to it using both up and down sliders to hit the right spot?

there probably isn't much you can do for that.  I honestly would be happy with an A.  any other bit to keep you from that + is probably all in your line and not a big deal.  Honestly, i dont get an A and it doesn't affect my gaming experience at all.   perhaps others will have some suggestion but it seems like you are pretty much optimized now.  Good luck in your games.

You're putting too much importance on the A+, I don't even bother looking at that anymore - it means very little.

I have two ISP lines...

One line gets A+ / A+ / C and it's literally unplayable on CoD, rubber banding, teleports, all sorts of shit.

The other line gets A / A / F and the only thing that would make me switch back to the other line is an apocalyptic equipment failure.

Alright, Ive decided to get another modem, hoping that itll fix my problem. If it doesn't then I guess I'll just have to live with what I have.
