What exactly is the problem?

You have a pretty consistent ping. What I like doing in that situation is to use ping assist to find low ping lobbies. Put your location in the ocean as small as possible. Set ping assist from 30-40ms and keep strict mode on. This may take a while to find a game but you'll get low ping lobbies. Now as I said in my other post to you, the servers suck so this does not guarantee that once you're in a game the ping won't shoot up. Especially on a double xp weekend. As I posted before you can see how on ps4 the pings go up as the load on the servers go up due to more players online.

First thing I'd do if I were you is set your home location right in the middle of where you have your current home location and the Victorian dedi you see on that geofilter page, set the KM's to no more than 1000km's.

Ping Assist despite what might work for others, I do not even use (0ms) but I wouldn't exceed 30ms considering your on FTTH NBN.

The congestion control sliders are advised as 70% for both upload and download but I'd not surpass anything less than 85% and I'd leave them as high as 97%. I actually leave mine at 97% when I game an I think you know how well that works for me, it's amazing.

You'll have to play around with your settings until you find the sweet spot but like I advised in your other thread, use Ping Plotter on your laptop to see where the issues may be occurring, who knows it may just be something with the dedicated server in Adelaide that gives you issues, or it could be something as simple as a bad Ethernet cable(s)...

That was to the dedicated server, I hardly host games in BO3.

I say it but people do not believe me, that is my connection 90% of the time in BO3.

I have 2 YT vids, I don't care if you like the vids or not, watch them to get a better idea of the hit detection and then read the description as it explains what I'm doing.

I don't think I need to prove it any more than that do I? :)

Another good tip is to head to http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/and get the Bufferbloat and Quality ratings to A+. Speed is of lesser importance, you only need a fraction of the 120Mbit connection for gaming, but you want that connection to be as clean as possible.

Go to Congestion Control and move both Upload Cap and Download Cap to 70%. Check the DLS Reports speedtest results, then move up / down in increments of 5% to find your sweet spot, then keep tweaking in 1% increments until you get the highest speed possible while keeping those A+ rating. Again, speed is not needed for gaming, but it helps for multi-tasking, like streaming video or torrenting while gaming.

I'm on Telstra cable and found I had to move Upload Cap to around 65% +/- 5%, and Download Cap to 85% +/- 5% to get A+ across the board. Do this before every big gaming session as it'll vary depending on ISP network congestion, but it should be within a few percent.

Thanks for all the help. Ive tried everyones advice. No good, Im over this shit. Back to normal for me. PS let me know when you get rid of the lot of useless stuff on the Netduma so its a bit more basic to use for those of us over 40 years old

I'll be 38 in November, close enough to 40 as it gets lol.

The router works fine mate, but if you're after a plug and play, fixes all your issues as soon as you turn the power on device, you'll not find that until you learn some things.

Combined, I put in 3 weeks of free time to learn how things work technically and then testing myself to see how the game deviates from what one can learn about packets and timing. It paid off because I honestly do not see anyone on YT or otherwise with my hit detection (in core type games), not even TheMarkofJ. 2 hit and 3 hit kills in core in BO3, all achieved with my Netduma R1.

If you're not willing to learn that's cool, just play Battlefield instead and hopefully your issues won't be as bad on that game.

It is easy to use compared to all the other user interfaces out there and that includes OpenWRT, Gargoyle, AsusWRT, DD-WRT, Tomato, PfSense etc...

I have been trying different things all day. Even throttling back. There is just something that I am missing. I have had the Netduma for 3 or 4 months now and have followed everything by the book, you tube advice, forum advice but something is still missing and that is my frustration. Im not after silky gameplay, Im just over the one mag one kill scenario and losing one on ones.

I also think, with all the advice out there, that Im going around in circles. Someone says "do this" Someone else says "dont"

I just need someone to come around and fix my shit up haha because Im struggling

I don't play hardcore :D That's core 6v6 TDM with a silenced Kuda. ;)

Wow, people don't die that quick for me. Ever.

I don't really 'aim' though, my tactic is 'hope'.

Im 47 and have owned the R1 since February 2015, it is not plug and play but if you follow the basic set up in the wiki and forget about all this throttle nonsense and try to give yourself the best possible connection to the game servers as you possibly can then that is all you can do.

Black ops 3 for me is a lottery and I ping around 11 ms to the dedicated servers on the south coast UK where I live.

There are far to many variables to make it 100% all the time.

Some people are very lucky but the majority are not. If I am having a dodgy game getting a load of hit markers on HC games then I look at my ping on the R1 and if it is at it's usual 11-15 ms ping to host then Im fine despite the shitty game as I have done everything in my power to get a good connection and my R1 is doing everything it says it can do. The rest of the shit is coming from the game itself.

By all means continue to chase your tail throttling this and trying loads of other hocus pocus ideas but you will just get more and more frustrated.

If you are in a lobby with low ping then anything else is out of your control.

Roll on Modern Warfare remastered, :) happy hunting.

Oh and have you done a pingplotter test to rule out your isp?

What "useless shit" are you referring to? How could we make it simpler to use?

Ping is the most important thing, the router is successfully getting you a pretty consistent ping which is really good! So I don't see why you would be experiencing any lag, other than maybe that spike.

Are all devices connected to the R1? 70/70 anti-flood, console in hyper traffic? Are you on the latest upgrade?

When the Azure (XB1) or Vultr (PS4) servers are on point, that's my hit detection, when it's normal, my hit detection is like you see here:

I get some terrible games too, but they'll fall upon variables of bad decision making on my part, dedi server jitter ridden and/or I'm just tired (also sick and tired).

I'd be interested in seeing your game play to be honest.

He's just covering all the basics for troubleshooting.

BO3 is BO3, your connection to other people through the dedi server is a lottery. All it takes is one crap connection to pull everyone down.

I put in a good few hours on Destiny today. I had my Home located somewhere in mid-NSW with a 950km radius to hit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. I could see the Netduma blocking connections to Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Alice Spring, Townsville and NZ. All peer connections were sub-50ms and I had zero "WTF?" moments where magic bullets would pile up undetected and insta-kill me.

Honestly, there's no other device out there that offers this sort of control. It may take a little longer to form a lobby, but everyone gets a better connection because of the Netduma's CC and HF settings.

Given the 1 spike on your consistent low ping and the fact you actually haven't provided us with many of the settings you're actually using, yes I am. Those are all important points that can affect the experience you have.

If you can provide the other screenshots from here http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=lag_support_instructionsI'll be happy to help further.
