Strict and bad lag

Recommended Posts

Ok, lots of questions...

Is your Netgear router in modem mode (passthrough), or is your Netduma in the ISP hub's DMZ?

Are any devices, other than the Netduma, connected to your ISP hub?

Is wifi disabled on your ISP hub?

What speeds to actually receive from your ISP? (Not what you pay for).

Is your Xbox/PS4 in Hyper Lane?

Do you have UPnP enabled or port forwarding?

Do you have your console (or PC) selected and enabled in the Geo Filter?

This is what I'm talking about. I have no clue what you're talking about. I don't know what half the things you're talking about mean. Not good at this stuff

I'll try to make Colonic's info easier to understand and add a bit of my own. Ultimately the links above will enable us to help you better.

In order to use congestion control (one of the main features involved in reducing lag) all devices need to be connected to the netduma. So by having some devices connected to the netgear means you can't make use of the feature.

ISP hub refers to the modem or router given by your internet provider. This would be the modem in your example. DMZ is an option that helps to open NAT.

Does you modem give out wifi or is it just the netgear and duma that give out wifi?

Through modem what speeds do you get?

On the duma, in settings > UPnP is it enabled? On duma, in settings > port forwarding do you have anything set?

On the dumas host filtering page do you have your console selected at the top of the page?

Only one device should be handing out WiFi.

If the Netgear has 5ghz and you wish to use that the set up is ....

Modem > Netduma (WiFI off) > NetGear AP mode (5Ghz WiFi on) as this set up will still use the Netduma's congestion control

If your Netgear does not support 5Ghz then the set up would be....

Modem > Netduma (Wifi on)

Can you make sure you're using Google Chrome/Firefox as those are our recommended browsers also.

Look on your PC for the Firewall you have, it may be the anti-virus you have or the standard Windows Firewall, then search online how to disable it :)
