Max speed through router only 60mbps. Through modem 100mbps

Recommended Posts

I've been having trouble getting the full speed of my internet through the netduma. It worked fine when I first bought it but now I can only get approx 60 mbps download speed. My connections are hard wired. I've done a factory reboot to the router and have it disabled all together and I can still only get 60 mbps. When hard wired directly to the modem thus taking the router out of the loop I get 100 mbps which is what I pay for. I feel like it could be hardware inside the router. It worked great for about 6 months but then I started having trouble with it.

Update to the latest version

Go to congestion control, set bandwidth, click apply and then press yes to allow the router to auto configure for your speeds.

Follow the advice above and also see to it that in:

Settings > Miscellenous that "Enable deep packet processing" is NOT ticked.

Congestion Conrol that you have selected the "Reactive" algorithm and NOT Preemptive.

You need to post here http://forum.netduma.com/topic/11018-major-netduma-upgrade-now-available-v-1036/page-41?do=findComment&comment=110916so we can check your router for upgrading.

Try these settings please:

  • Reactive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc
  • Disable deep packet in misc
  • Do a wired speed test from a PC

Ive reset my router and applied the above settings and i am now getting over 100mbps thank you very much. But my other question would be is there anything i could be doing to change these settings indirectly. I have had the router working great and without changing these settings to my knowledge, only using host filtering, they changed and cause the bottleneck i had before?  Also should i still update the router firmware i am currently running 1.03.4  i posted in the linked thread but no response yet.

Glad that's got your speeds back up.

Do you have cookies enabled? Enabling this will keep your settings unless you factory reset.

I suppose if you cleared your cookies then it could revert some of your settings though...

Perhaps you factory reset or unplugged the router suddenly, causing your settings to reset. Changing settings in the host filtering interface should never affect the bandwidth speed you're getting. Also, you still will need update your router firmware, but we'll be checking routers on tuesday for the latest update.

Thanks. My speeds are staying up so far tho I haven't messed with anything since it was fixed. I am patiently waiting for the firmware update. I'm gonna try adjusting the anti flood a little today. I know that will neck down my and with speed but it should go back up if I put it back at 100. Will there just be a message posted in the update thread when we are ready to update?

Yes we'll quote each person and post in the thread.

And here's my next problem. If I set the anti flood to 80% on both or even 90% it throttles it all the way down to 10-11mbps. Even at 99% it will only allow 12mbps

That shouldn't be the case, are all devices definitely connected to the duma? None automatically connecting to ISP hub wifi? Turn off the hub wifi to prevent that and interference with duma wifi.

Yes. When I do speed checks it's always a wired connection. If the anti flood is set to 100 the speed test will be ~ 100 mbps. With the anti flood at 99% I can only get 12mbps through wired connection
