RobReapz
Hi all, just wondering what is the best hyperlane setting to use for playstation 3/4? as have seem some posts about using port 3074 instead of 80 and should it be destination, source or both. Cheers
UK_Wildcats_Fans
Take a look at this topic. Even though it is about port forwarding, it gets into discussions about hyper lane. http://forum.netduma.com/topic/15763-port-forward-for-blops3-on-ps4/
ColonicBoom
I've wondered about those settings myself. I just left the Xbox One on default in the end. Seems the PS4 is a little more troublesome with it's ports + nat for some reason. Sorry, not helpful I know
RobReapz
Luckily i dont suffer from any NAT issues so i dont really need to port forward right? I was just curious how the hyperlane setting actually works and if an advanced setting would be better than the basic config. Thanks for the replies chaps. Think you're right, if UPnP works for you then leave it at that I reckon. I did. Whatever device you put in the hyperlane will take priority over the ports I think, so you can force your gaming data packets to take priority over anyone elses data on your network. Yeh i understand it prioritises the packets of said device but dont really get why its basic setup seems to be port 80 and destination only, correct me if im wrong. Would it not be better if it was multiple ports, basically like a mini port forwarding feature. Or is default setup fine and im just splitting hairs lol

Don't ask how I know this, but someone from NetDuma can confirm it lol I also add 3074 UDP both just for COD sometimes and remove the PSN hyperlane. I find it works better so COD gets hyperlane, but updates and such don't kill my connection.
belly120
i assumed it would have all sorts of clever stuff in it so that the hyperlane service would choose to priorities the ports being used by the device chosen, a smart feature but if its just some random generic ports its not a lot of use. i will adjust accordingly lol. also i love how games states all the ports they use yet you only ever see port 9308 come up in the port table for the ps4. bizarre

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 26, 2016 Administrators Share Posted May 26, 2016 It's up to you, I would just use the standard service for each given it will fast track packets on the ports it covers. If you go specific you may not always achieve that.
