So any one excited to play the Overwatch BETA

http://us.battle.net/overwatch/en/blog/20055970

Open Beta on All consoles and PC This Friday May 5th

No stressing over KD, or stats, just good old first person shooter, team and objective based fun.

I am hoping it will be really good, as I am getting tired of the well worn COD shooters, which are running out of steam.

I think it is awesome, I was lucky enough to get an early access code from Buck when it was posted it up for grabs :)

I played for about 7 hours of it yesterday then when I was to tired to play I watched youtube videos of it and was thinking about it in bed.

I have just woke up and I am itching to get back on.

If you don't like it there is something wrong with you ;) haha, it wont be for everyone but I am glad of a top tier shooter like this in my life.

There is a dedicated around the Netherlands I ping 20ms steady as a rock to it, every game was smooth (I have a no jitter ISP) and played identical each match.

People that live further south of the UK than me will probably get 15ms or less to it.

@Fraser It is on Xbox one fella, you have one get it downloaded :)

Playing on PS4 I think overwatch could be great but the input lag just kills it for me and makes it a non purchace.

You can say many things about cod but it allways gets the core game mechanics sharp and responsive.

Overwatch on ps4 has what feels like 100ms between joystick movement and any movement on screen. Totally unacceptable for an fps.

Playing all weekend. Super game. Some possible balancing issues to be resolved and the UI could be a bit more intuitive but the core game works well so can be built upon and is a refreshing change from cod. It's the variation in characters that makes this game stand out. And its the first game I've come across that demands good team play to ensure success. I still say there is bad input lag but it it masked by a lot of chaos and fun. I'm still on the fence because of the input lag but I just watched my 10yrold get 22 straight kills with hanzo so maybe I'm just looking for excuses....

Xbox one here, no input lag just a dead spot in the middle of the right stick so if you strafe you can get on target much easier much like bops 1.

I have the elite pad with the extended right stick and I need the sensitivity on 57 both directions that helps but there is still a dead spot.

Normally, in cod, on ps4, I play with high sensitivity but can still aim precisely even without ads. So the hardware and software can do it. But I wasn't able to do this in Overwatch and didn't feel comfortable untill I had the sensitivity down to about 40 I think it was. I'm kicking myself now for not checking input lag vs deadspot. I started getting used to it though.

Last few matches I played with Mercy. Took me ages to realise she had a gun! so wasn't so helpless. Once I figured how to play with her and my team saw what I was doing and trusted me to use her we began to hold or move as a unit with me at the centre boosting and healing and we were almost totally invincible.

I think this moment sold me on the game.

It's a refined / reboot version of TF2 (Team Fortress 2) more or less... Which is a good thing since there haven't been many games like this on consoles.

If you like purely PVP games, this is one to pick up because you know Blizzard will support it as long as they can because it is a new IP for them...

Its quality I am loving it , when they release dlc it is apparently going to be for everyone so not to fracture the population , free dlc can not be bad.

I don't think it should be compared to TF2. TF2 was where I started my first multiplayer. I like it for its humor and fun and it made me truly enjoy the game be it if I win or lose.
From the time that I had with Overwatch, it does not have any of those elements. It was like CS with a twist. Pick a class and get moving. And that is basically it. Game is tougher than I first thought. And at the end of the day, I don't feel like I truly enjoyed it. It is just too bland and for a multiplayer game, it truly doesn't deserve that much money. Plus yes.. It's Blizzard.. But it's Activision Blizzard just so you know. And the presence of something similar to Supply Drops scares me. Overwatch, more like Overhyped cos of the heavy marketing.

Going to Battleborn on the other hand, the things that each character has to say is humorous! Oscar Mike is like your typical COD gamer. I seriously think he revolves around MW2's noob tube character and sometimes like a kid trying to come up with something to insult his enemies. It's so funny in its own way. It is sad that they did not market this game more. It's humor is closer to TF2's but it really does hit the sweet spot between FPS and MOBAs and it made me, a non-DOTA player being able to appreciate and actually do good in the game. On one hand, I get a lot of good advice and feedbacks by strategic MOBA players. On the other hand, I love the leveling up system that made you feel like your progress matters in the game. It has campaign too so you at least get your money's worth.

I played the Battleborn Beta for about 4-5 hours. Personally I felt that the distraction of all the excessive fireworks and the lure of the leveling up were masking a very mediocre game play experience on some atrociously designed maps.

At the end of the day, for these MOBAs it is about the map design, abilities, and weapons magically combining to produce captivating emergent game-play.

And Overwatch had that in spades.
