Stilts29 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Geo-Latency Question
Yes it does matter, filtering has to be enabled because all the settings are related to how the Geo-Filter filters, disable filtering and those options don't matter.

thanks for clarifying

Stilts29 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Unable to get UPnP working for PC
There are plans to merge the two features in future yes, as you can imagine it's quite a big job and would need to be done carefully and if we can't do that we may not do it but if we can don't expect it soon

Geofilter working good though.

Stilts29 reacted to Netduma Fraser in HellDivers 2
The DPI update for it is being tested currently and then it'll roll out incrementally just in case there are any issues, just keep checking and it will come

Stilts29 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Any support for Helldivers 2 due soon?
It has been requested and we know it is popular so it's on our to do list!

Stilts29 got a reaction from carmine19 in Any support for Helldivers 2 due soon?
No but it would be nice to have the game traffic prioritised. I will add to that list, thanks.
Also as an aside I was having issues connecting with other players but that was resolved with port forwarding as UPNP is not working for me.

Stilts29 reacted to x12Tyler in When is the NEW Firmware that FINALLY FIXES ALL these issues!?
Yeah but you don’t get an r3 for wifi performance if you want something like that get an Asus Rog rapture which I also have, has like 8 antennas and great wifi performance as well as good gaming performance. You should be getting the r3 specifically for the gaming features it brings.

Stilts29 got a reaction from Luis Gomes in When is the NEW Firmware that FINALLY FIXES ALL these issues!?
I'm with @x12Tyler on this, I can't see why there are so many issues with geofilter. On latest version with geo latency off and a polygon drawn around my nearest servers it always connects to one of them. As i've said before I think some of these issues are with the game developers, VPN use, matchmaking within the game for example will trump any router settings. I can connect to my local server but I can't stop other players connecting to that server too.
You need to set a filter per device, per game as I understand it and ideally have only one activated (maybe). Resync the cloud from time to time and if you make any changes to the Geofilter close down your games first and then restart after you have made the changes.
If steady ping adds too much ping then turn it off. But if you are connecting to your nearest server this shouldnt be an issue, or use expert mode to limit how much ping is increased if that works better.

Stilts29 got a reaction from PharmDawgg in R3 User Manual?
Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I can't find the user manual for the R3 anywhere. Does one exist? would be great to have a resource to find out more details about what each of the options / settings do on the R3 rather than try to figure out via the forum posts. Would cut down the number of forum posts.

Correct and the red dot is your home location. White dots are servers that have players in your current game.

Just to mention the R3 does a great job of getting you connected to your nearest server, getting you a stable ping and eliminating bufferbloat for most people's setups.
What it can't do much about is the crappy matchmaking that some of these games employ and SBMM. For example in Destiny 2 PVP I will join to the London or Amsterdam server with a good steady ping but then Steam goes and matches me in a game with players from China, Russia and Middle East (i'm in UK). Its players using VPN's and cheaters that often ruin what would be a good gaming experience. If the designated host is miles away it doesn't really matter how good my connection is to London, I will always be at a disadvantage.
So I guess my point is that I don't think the R3 or any gaming router for that matter can eliminate 'all' our gaming woes but it does a good job of giving you the best experience possible, despite Steam and Activision's best endeavours to do the contrary.

Stilts29 reacted to DOGGAVELI in NetDuma R3 Feedback/Issues
Hi Everyone,
I have been seeing some pretty strong and very pointed feedback regarding the R3 and some of the bugs.
Please keep in mind this is very new technology from the Netduma team and with new technology there can and will be bugs sometimes. I understand some people can get frustrated and upset but we should always provide constructive feedback; and provide as much information as possible with your feedback.
The Netduma Team are doing their best to address issues and provide firmware updates in very short turnaround much quicker compared to the R2 &1.
Some bugs and issues might be more complex to solve than others so if you update your firmware you can also downgrade if you wish and then wait for more stable firmware. When new firmware comes out it has to be tested and in some cases some fixes might cause another issue so please be patient. The team is doing their best; and want everyone to have the best possible gaming experience with their Netduma products and this hasn't changed since the R1.
Happy gaming everyone; and thanks to the Netduma Team for all their hard work and updates they have released for the R3 so far 😀✌️

I had'nt thought to try out PO with this new version until earlier this evening and it worked great got ping for Up and DL down to under 10. The Geofilter has also been working excellent this evening and had some of the best gaming I have ever had this evening.
If the wifi signal can be made stronger and get the speeds up then the R3 is seriously living up to my expectations.

Stilts29 got a reaction from Disrek in NEW R3 FIRMWARE 4.0.41
Hi, tried new 0.41 and gaming a little bit on it. Hit detection seemed pretty good still. I still have A+ BB score but did notice jitter was slightly higher than normal (2ms). Also the mean ping was great (6ms) but max ping was greater 20 on download and 40 on upload. Not sure how much this translates to gaming to notice.
Had some questions on Geofilter and stable ping if someone can answer so I know I have my expectations correct.
So for games that use peer to peer connections for PVP arranged by Steam matchmaking I can nearly always get connected to the London server which is great. But:
1. Can Geofilter stop servers outside its range being selected as part of the matchmaking or is that unable to be bypassed. I currently see servers showing as white dots outside the geofence area. I have denied access to most of these servers, allowing only French and Dutch servers.
2. Stable ping has worked a couple of times for peer to peer PVP games like Destiny 2, but is that only when I am lucky enough to be the host? or can stable ping work on all the other peer to peer connections.
Settings are:
Geofilter (strict ON, Geolatency ON, ping assist OFF) Steady Ping On (Simple mode) Geofence around the UK only. Hope that makes sense. Cheers

We have not specifically changed anything about how Ping Assist works in this firmware version.
However, there are many improvements to general Geo-Filter functionality, and this increased reliability should make Ping Assist function better as well.
Please let us know how you get on with Ping Assist in this firmware. If there's any specific issues still present, we'll fix them.
Agreed, a backup feature would be really useful. I'll make sure it's on the roadmap.
As @Fuzy said, it isn't nessercary. If you encounter any issues, you should factory reset. Preferably let us know about the issues first though so that we can fix them!

It is not necessary, although it is always preferable to start with a blank base when changing a FW

Stilts29 got a reaction from L0rd in Save Router Settings Option
Not sure if this has been raised before but any chance we could get an option to backup and re import settings, even if its to a text file?
Factory resets are required sometimes and this would really take the pain out of setting everything up again.

Yeah it's a bug with the .40 firmware if you use PPPoE.
I'm having the same issue, hopefully it's fixed in the next update.

Ah okay, it may be related to a bug we found, this'll should then be fixed in the next version.
Yes that's correct

Hi @Hotchin88,
Although the forums may not reflect it, there are a lot of satisfied owners, myself included.
Yes there are some issues which some users are facing which are important to them but they will get fixed.
For gaming, and lets face it that's what we got the R3 for wasn't it, the experience is awesome now. When it arrives, put release .40 on it, do a factory reset and configure it as you like it. Then try some games out, I'm sure you will like it. If not you have the option to return.
