TxFrog33 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Netduma behind an Eero mesh network
If the R3 is behind the mesh then only devices directly connected to the R3 can use the features/be controlled by the R3. I'd suggest having it the other way around for the best of both worlds, i.e. Modem > R3 > Mesh and no settings need to be changed then

We haven't pushed the firmware and we won't at the moment, it's being tested, once I'm happy with it I'll let people try it tomorrow.

TxFrog33 reacted to Mobel in Fixed CPU usage spike issue coming next week.
I have always used (see picture) this for all my routers works really good, place it right under the middle even on the lowest setting keeps the router really cold even in the summer.
Amazon about 15 € $ £ all the same 😂

TxFrog33 reacted to Netduma Cameron in Fixed CPU usage spike issue coming next week.
Hi, I'm one of the backend developers.
This issue was causing small latency spikes of up to 4ms, caused by high CPU usage of the Data Usage Daemon (part of the Network Activity history feature). It's been fixed and now has 0-1% CPU usage all the time. This is coming to the next firmware, most likely next week.
If you're interested in the technical details, the issue was caused by an unneeded system call causing malloc/free for every flow measured.
Thank you for buying the Netduma R3 early!

TxFrog33 got a reaction from rvndo in geofilter not pinging warzone 3 servers
I can assure you they work in Call of Duty warzone aswell, also when you update the firmware make sure to do a factory reset very important cause it will maintain remenants of the old firmware if you don't. Geo ping stabalizer even ping optimizer are working well on .23 firmware.

TxFrog33 reacted to mightywizard666 in Problem with download and upload speed, poor ping.
No my pings are constant at 11 ms with the XR500 and no fluctuation and the same with the R3 but on the R3 i have 3 ms more then with the old XR500, the R3 never go under 14 ms it's stable 14 ms all the time but why do i have 3 ms more then with an old router with an old firmware ? Will it be better over the time with new firmware, if not i will sell my R3 and hold my XR500.

TxFrog33 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Ping Optimizer not working as expected need new update if available
Ping Optimizer should still work but we're aware its not 100% reliable, you can use Congestion Control manually instead in Ping Optimizer > Advanced in the meantime

TxFrog33 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Higher base ping on R3 vs R2 and XR1000 on Waveform Blufferbloat test
Essentially it's syncing you up to the server better e.g. you have a 20ms ping to the server so that's what the server expects, you get a spike/jitter and the game server doesn't expect it which leads to hit detection/lag moments. Stabilizing the ping to sync you with the server means the whole game you'll have 1 consistent ping that won't change and give you a much smoother experience.

Thanks for the quick response also what is the latest firmware as I am on .20 now

TxFrog33 got a reaction from AsNCo in Higher base ping on R3 vs R2 and XR1000 on Waveform Blufferbloat test
normally my unloaded ping is 10 to 11 with duma OS 4 and R3 router its showing 15 now and I am getting A+ rating but in game experience is just not good bullet registration for example in Halo Infinite is so bad Is there a way to lower this I only have 4 devices my pc security 2 tvs. Im going to disable Steady Ping and try that.. im using Halo Infinite and Cloud gaming and Gaming in general under smart boost along with My device being on there as well. any Help would be amazing. Loved how simple setting up this R3 was compared to R2 Interface loads much quicker. Superb job on that end.

TxFrog33 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Netduma R3
It doesn't work with the standard Geo-Filter anymore since they made an update blocking Geo-Filters unfortunately. For DumaOS 4 on the R3 we'll make some videos/guides on the new features on Geo-Filter 2.0 that will allow it to work.
