I meant the "testing" team.... *wink*
It is working now...curious about the adblocker and next firmware update...any idea when some improvements are coming?
Haha testing team I was a few years ago but not now. Great to hear that. Dev time has been reduced due to the holidays but everyone will be back in full force on Monday, I don't have a timeline currently, once everyone is back I can get a better idea.

If you're changing the settings while you're on the game then it won't work because it will already have made a connection that will stay active so you will need to relaunch the game after making changes like that and it should then apply.

HI!! I think I remember you ...but not sure...were you on the team a couple months ago?
Anyway...it looks like there was a firmware update...when I cleared my browser cookies/cache/etc...the router walked me through the initial set-up all over again. Must've updated to the initial release firmware (I have been using a TP-Link router since 11/5/2020 so the XR1K has not been used during this time.. I reconnected a couple days ago and it must've updated (I have to have a spoofed MAC for internet to work, so initially it was online, then once it updated, it was offline until I did the set-up again.)...
I've been on the team since before the company launched in 2014 so yeah I was 😂
Okay great so is it all working now?

Hey there, first off let me say, I love the UI, I've been using an XR500 for a few months now and have enjoyed the ease of use, however, I've recently had an issue where I cannot use any wireless devices to connect to WebUIs running on wired devices, I found This post which I believe to be the same issue and am hoping to ask whether the current beta firmware fixes that or should I just hold out?
Thanks
Hey, welcome to the forum!
I don't think there is anything in the current beta build which would help but please do try it and if it doesn't work then let us know and we can investigate further https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-DumaOS-3-0/bd-p/en-home-beta-npg-duma

It's also the same message on Internet explorer and mobile OS. It connects fine to the Nighthawk app but that has very limited functionality compared to Duma.
Thank you for that, does the same happen if you use the LAN IP to try and connect?

Hi I have the XR500 and cannot open Duma. Running V2.3.2.66. Tried accessing on both Windows/Mac OS also mobile browser but no joy. Worked fine for a month then nothing for around 5 months bar one day when it came back up. Tried fac reset, power down etc etc multiple times.
I just get the message after it times out that I shouldn't see this page.
Annoying
Hey, welcome to the forum!
Can you provide a screenshot of the whole web browser please of what it shows when you've tried to access the interface?
-
Okay great thank you, that indicates it should be a problem with the QoS settings.
Just before that, did you disable WMM in Advanced WiFi settings by any chance? If so you will need to re-enable that and it will work.
Put Congestion Control on Never, Reset Distribution for Bandwidth Allocation and make sure both Share Excess options are enabled and finally disable any Traffic Prioritization rules, then retest the speed please. If you get full speeds that's good, then just enable CC on Always and see if upload adheres to what you've limited it to.

I need help here I just bought an xr300 and I'm not taken to a dumaos setup wizard at all when setting up the router. Is there a working version of Dumaos for xr300??
Hey, welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear you're having this issue. What happens when you go to 192.168.1.1 or routerlogin.net in the web browser?

Yes it was and it worked before.
I know its netgear, but i thought i ask here instead.
I just need an media player instead i think.
Thnx for the answers!
I haven't specifically used the media/readyshare aspect for a long time and don't have the capacity to do so currently so I couldn't say, likely you do need a DLNA app that can connect to it.

I have this same error. Odd, I never saw this error during a certain phase prior to launch.
Hey, welcome to the forum!
Have you followed the suggestions so far to rectify the issue?

Nope, mine is different but it shouldn't matter. The WD drives are all the same so it shouldn't matter. When i hook the USB stick or the HDD drive to the USB port it turns on and i can see the drive in my network but its sooo slow and netgear doesn't support ready share anymore as its not even in their new Android app
Man, i really hate it when these simple things just become an nightmare simply because of the fact that firmware or the router doesn't seem to support it..
The only way seems to install Twonky server again and acces it from there.. But that means that my PC has to be online all the time if i want to access the files..
I just want to insert my HDD drive to the router and make it work..
I don't think ReadyShare was part of their phone app. I'd recommend contacting Netgear directly as it's a NG feature rather than DumaOS so they'd be better to help with this: https://www.netgear.com/support/contact.aspx

Is it one of the models listed here for XR500? If not then there is a chance it won't work: https://kb.netgear.com/18985/Will-my-USB-drive-work-with-ReadySHARE
-
ReadyShare still is available on the XR500. Is the drive compatible/the right file type for the router to use?
If you want to do it on your phone then search DLNA in the app store and it may have something.

Happy new year everyone!
Is readyshare disabled or completely removed from the router? No matter what i do i cannot connect or stream anything in my own network anymore.
I want to stream movies and music from the router to my smartphone but it doesn't work. Anyone ideas how to make it work again?
Thnx!
Happy New Year!
Which router are you talking about specifically? If it is enabled then you'll find them in the router settings under USB Storage. They may be a DLNA server you can download on the phone to access.
-
Disable QoS entirely from the Congestion Control 3 line option menu and see if the speed changes then. Also are you using IPv6, VLAN or PPPoE?
-
Have you made any custom rules for the device such as in Traffic Prioritization?

Battlefield is my primary reason for buying this router, but I don't see it in the heat map. For such a popular game, I wonder when will it be supported. When will we get support for battlefield? If we even get it. Thank you.
Hey, welcome to the forum!
We have Battlefield on our list of games to add to Ping Heatmap, I don't believe you can use the Geo-Filter though to filter the game, have you tried this?

i want to change my ISP router do u have an suggestion anything good that will go with netduma 2 for gaming purpose just saying i have dsl
You don't need to change the ISP router, if you get you're own modem it will basically do the same thing. Put your existing ISP router in modem or bridge mode and let the R2 handle everything.

You're very welcome, Happy New Year

That's a good question and point, if you're not gaming and not many other devices are being used at the time then you can probably do without it - devices do have background updates every so often which could cause lag but assuming that isn't the case you could leave it off. When gaming though, even these background updates or devices just periodically sending/receiving data could cause a spike. I'd suggest for your situation to use Auto-Enable for Congestion Control. That will ensure your speeds/connection will only be limited when gaming and if you're not then you'll receive full speeds.
-
They can be mislocated as well which is another thing we can fix via a cloud update.
-
It is mostly a dedicated server game from what I've seen so whenever you see peer it is almost certainly a server - for example the second to last one, the domain has choopa in the name which is a known server. They're misclassified on the map but we can resolve them, realistically this won't impact your game negatively, it is more aesthetic. You can use Ping Heatmap to get a good idea of where the game servers are located and then you can adjust the Geo-Filter accordingly as needed.

I've just had a quick look at the QoS and unfortunately this doesn't make sense to me as the variables are different so not entirely sure what I'm supposed to be mirroring or what I need to do to mirror the values? The variables per test are as follows:
- Speed test: download/upload/netflix speed
- Ping test: average ping/jitter/packet loss
- Ping test (under load): download/upload/idle
Could you please confirm what values should be mirrored in which tests and how this is achieved.
Also, do I need to then further change the bandwidth allocation for gaming? As per my question above, why would anyone recommend dropping that to 1.08...would that be to try to get lag compensation working in their favour or something?
23 minutes ago, K0NSPIRACY said:Just did the "test network speed and statistics" on Xbox One X, and I'm getting 154ms latency which is usually around 22ms. Is this something to be concerned about now? Before I had the R2, I would usually reboot the Vodafone router to try to resolve this...is this likely to be anything to do with the QoS?
You want to get the download/upload ping value of Ping Under Load closest to the average ping value of the Ping test as close as possible. On Congestion Control, select Always, start with a percentage, then do a benchmark test, then change percentage again and do benchmark again. Rinse repeat until you've found a percentage that lowers Ping Under Load the most. You don't need to adjust Bandwidth Allocation, I usually recommend leaving it as its default. A lot of people experiment with settings so that's likely something that works for them. I don't believe they would receive lag compensation as the device would still be getting more bandwidth than it actually needs.
It's likely the Geo-Filter blocking the server it is testing, that value is quite misleading as it's just the ping to the Xbox Live server to basically verify you're online and have a paid subscription. It has no bearing on what your game ping will be at all so you can ignore that.
-
Ping Under Load shows what your Ping (from Ping test) would be should you experience local congestion. Therefore if you can get Ping Under Load to mirror the Ping test as closely as possible then this means even when local congestion is occurring QoS eliminates it and your ping is largely unchanged. I would redo QoS to adjust for Ping Under Load as the bandwidth will be much less so what it takes to overwhelm the network is less as well. Gaming doesn't require much bandwidth so you could do it for that device but wouldn't recommend it for any other.

What improvements would you like to see? I couldn't say whether Adblocker will return just yet. Netgear make the decisions regarding hardware so I couldn't say why they made specific decisions.
