I’m having a terrible experience with my R2... first off it took about two weeks just to get the product, but while I do like the ping heat map, and having it work for me... I lose connection to my internet all the time and my WiFi is extremely week... I have the latest firmware installed, I’m using a charter business class modem (200 up- 10 down) so I cannot log into it to change any settings.

Also if I do the “auto setup” in the QOS it takes my speeds down to 1% and all my devices in the house are turtles... lol any help please???

    Hey, welcome to the forum!

Given that you ordered on Xmas Eve/Day and it arrived on 5th January that's probably the earliest you could have received it during the holidays. Did you do a factory reset after you upgraded to .179 as recommended? Auto Setup is too aggressive at the moment so we recommend people adjust it manually for the moment.

  2. There is no specific way to force this because it doesn't make sense to restrict connections in that way. The only way I could think of doing this would be disable any settings you've enabled to open NAT - doing that could make the NAT strict instead of moderate.

I'm having this same issue with my xr700

I upgraded to the most recent firmware recently and everything was fine till i got disconected from the internet and rebooted the router today.

The internet is working but when I try to access the router via it's ip I get DumaOS not available.

I tried downgrading the firmware and reinstalling the firmware with the instruction above but as soon as I finish the setup wizzard I'm back to DumaOS not loaded over and over.

I have tried multiple firmware version and resets and nothing fixes it Duma OS not loaded. Cleared cache and cookies tried multiple pcs and phones.

    Hey, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. I'd recommend trying the beta and doing a reset as it should be more stable for you in that regard. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-DumaOS-3-0/bd-p/en-home-beta-npg-duma

Hi Fraser, I tried this out and it doesnt seem to be working. Works fine on an actual console, but for PC, it's not filtering out anything. I can see the players on my geo filter map, with a triangle, indicating that they're outside my radius, yet I'm still connecting to all of them.

I know setting your pc as a console worked before for me, but now it's not working any more.

Ping assist is set to 0, flushed my cloud -> did this multiple times, no difference.

Apologies, there are some issues with Destiny on PC right now so we need to re-test it for compatibility and potentially make some changes to the way the Geo-Filter actually functions.

    Nope I don’t have a subscription do I need one ?

don’t you just connect via the hybrid vpn?

and even if I try a different country same issue

Yes you need a subscription to either PureVPN or HideMyAss to use that feature - alternatively you can use a subscription to any OpenVPN VPN provider if you can obtain the configuration files and then you can input them manually into the feature.

I tried searching for a firewall to deactivate but couldnt come up with anything. tried googling if g hub had a dmz setting but the only things that came up were putting it in bridge mode or utilizing port forwarding

Could you put it in bridge mode then if possible please and see if that helps?

Thanks for the reply, ok hopefully there's a couple updates soon. Have only 2 neighbouring wifi access points im picking up. My area has alot of older people so there's minimal interference. Direct line of sight to the r2 at 2 meters on 80 mhz at channel 36 nets a link speed of 300 mbps. I've seen it link up at 650 and 700 a couple times. Also im in Australia and there seems that the 5ghz bands only has 36 40 44 and 48. Unless im missing something?

The fact you have seen it link up higher than what you're currently seeing does indicate its software rather than hardware so we will be seeking to keep that more consistent. That is the currently available channels yes, we've got some tickets open regarding channels so we will also have more available to choose from in later updates.

Is the antennas that bad or is it the chip inside? Could be the heat because this thing is hot on the underside even lifted 20cm of my TV unit. Could we get a temperature graph maybe in an update. That's something that would be a welcomed addition.

    Constant low speeds and range.

I don't think it is the hardware at all, although of course it's not the bleeding edge but that shouldn't make a difference. We believe we can improve the WiFi significantly but it's actually very tricky to do which is why it is taking some time. Some has suggested a temp graph before so it's on our roadmap. 2.4GHz use 20MHz, 5GHz use 80MHz and use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channels and that should improve it somewhat.

I went to the link to download and hit download, now everytime i try to open the download and run it, it does nothing. how do i check and see if my software is up to date on the R2 interface?

You have to install it from the interface, there are installation instructions at the bottom of the first post.

Brilliant, apologies for the late response, but updating indeed fixed it, I've no idea if it was a coincidence or something just clicked but going from the stock build to the beta build has completely eliminated the hangtime from WebUI's thank you, I'm excited to test out some new features :)

That is great to hear, thank you for the update!
