bagsta69
OK so I was browsing the web when I heard the familiar beep of the R1 rebooting all by itself. After a minute I went into settings and had a look at what had happened, The router had kept some of the settings but lost all my devices, and allowed (white listed friends) put my home in the USA (I live in the UK) and lost all my anti flood settings as well. After a little more investigation I looked at the VPN page which had all my devices on it and had me connected to a VPN called "Hide my Ass" Anybody care to elaborate on what the hell has just happened? lol
Macca65
Hi Bagsta, not sure about some of the stuff that happened, but I think that Hide my Ass thing has always been there.. I think Zennon mentioned in a previous post that it should be disabled and the click apply. Hope that helps
bagsta69
Cheers macca, as I don't run a vpn I did just that, not sure if that could have been the cause of the reboot though. I can't understand why it kept my pp0e settings but reset everything else including speeds ??? Hopefully just a one off glitch

Zennon
I have seen many members have the VPN enabled with no user intervention, my own has done this in the past, something for Iain to look at.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 24, 2015 Administrators Share Posted November 24, 2015 Let us know if it reboots again. I think the VPN defaults to ticked for some reason. It's not actually connected to HMA as a subscription/user/pass is required.
II Z IE IR O II
Let us know if it reboots again. I think the VPN defaults to ticked for some reason. It's not actually connected to HMA as a subscription/user/pass is required. It's always been that way. It's always "ticked" by default. I "untick" it, but it goes right back to ticked! Because of my OCD, this drives me nuts!
