Always seems to pick a USA host with AW from the UK

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Anyone else get this?

I'm in the UK and every time I connect to a game on Advanced Warfare it always picks a west coast or middle US host using my ping assist.

If I block that host it just chooses another host in the US and If I set the ping assist to zero I can't get in a game. So its US host or no game it seems? I have played about with the ping assist and blocked numerous hosts but it don't seem to solve it.

I probably should have said the games tend to be really laggy...and lag spike on host

Err any ideas.

Cheers

N

With 50 ms ping assist you won't be connecting to the US, it's probably a wrongly labeled servers.  The ping would twice that to connect over here.  And i would think you'd be able to find rooms with a geo that size, for sure.  A lot of the forum members are from the UK so i'm sure someone will by by your post shortly that may be able to help with geo and room settings for that area, soon.

And you are in UK that is defiantly a miss located HOST. The minimum ping that you would have to USA host its about 120 ms.

Please post those info

  • The server ID
  • The ping
  • Where you live

For example

4b173a05b4ea5c61, 25ms, UK

In this thread

so that someone wform duma crew can have a look at them and move the to to right location.

and one more thing.....

Make sure you are using the latest cloud version....

Chose Auto Cloud and Bleeding edge and then click apply so that you use the most up to day locations of hosts etc.

wow 1400km sounds like quite far! I think i picked my locale in the uk and then pressed the auto snap button once and it came out at 628km covers all the uk and some of europe and i have no probs getting games. i have strict mode unticked and autoping ticked and ping assist set to 50ms.

Sir smooch is there a reason you dont use Strict Mode?

i was just trying something different tbh. i had on strict mode before with my geo just about covering the uk with ping assist @ 30ms but for some reason i kept pulling the same dedicated server in the far south of the country and although the ping seemed ok after my first game being quite crisp the rest was feeling a little off. so then i tried moving my geo so that host was outside geo filter but it seemed to keep choosing it still! funnily enough i even changed the game to cod ghosts and it was still showing that same srver and choosing it lol so tiggled around with the settings some after reading some different threads here but couldn't get hardly any games so factory reset the duma and followed the fine tuning guide again but left strict mode off this time and see what happens lol.

Sure buddy.

Remember that every single time you connect to a host you have to wait at lest 2 min  bo be able to connect to different one.

In that case when you apply some changes to you geo filter. Please see the link below.

Now if you want to avoid some dedi here is how i do it. I play AW and that game plays only on dedis and like you i live in UK now in UK we only have one dedi which is that south one.

To be able to do that you have to exclude it for you search as well as keeping strict on and ping assist to 0. And again keep in mid that 2 min we spoke about above.

Now this is my sweet spot for games when the UK dedi dosent play well on AW

I sad thats my number 2 option when i wana exclude that uk dedi that plays bad. If that happens then i move my home location in there.

It was example how you can avoid dedis in AW

Hi, just thought i'd share. I live in EU with geo set to europe, strict mode enabled, PA 60ms and I also get connected to USA hosts. But this is if and only if I have Bleeding edge cloud ticked.
If I untick bleeding edge cloud then after a while i get only host within the geo filter in Europe again.

That would be PA picking them up, they're just incorrectly located
