Issues!!!

Recommended Posts

I believed I have tried everything in the last 6 months to get this router to perform playing on ps4 for advance warfare. I watch other on YouTube experience no lag with this router. Currently in every game I use this router I experience lag (unable to jump through doors, players moving fasterand jumping, etc) I have bought a netgear nighthawk with this and it failed with lag, now bought a Asus AC2400 that came out in July and its lagging as well. I've used the router by itself and its failed on lag. I understand you are suppose to have lag, but it performs just like every other router. If someone who can give me a breakdown on finding out what the issue is, it would be appreciated.

I have 60 down, 6 upload from time warner cable. Located on eastern USA, I have upnp on both routers, I have Asus in DMZ for R1. icloud settings on auto, I have firmware 1.03.4, anti-flood been 70/70 or 80/80. Only have computer and ps4 hooked to R1. Host filter distance is 1000.km and 25ping. Ping diagnostics says PING ok, JITTER exceptional, SPIKES exceptional, PACKET LOSS no loss.

Set your location in the ocean, set your filter size as small as it can go, set ping assist to 50-65ms depending on how long it takes to find a game and then enjoy no more lag.... Also make sure that you actually have your filter enabled. Under the service for your playstation the box should say "Disable" which means the filter is on.

I live on the east coast if you want to see my setup? My setup is very simular to mod box's except i have my filter set to one snap, and 47 PA.

Your ping assist setting varies based on your base ping that it shows in the internet diagnostic. For me it's around 30ms so I usually double that number and it works well. I connect to local and low ping hosts and about 95% of games are perfect for me. I keep the location in the ocean to avoid the horrible NJ dedicated server (I'm in NJ), but on PS4 it seems to be really good. Xbox has a bad server there.

I notice if you are in ps4 party chat and put distance filter in ocean with my 56 ping, I keep jumping from lobby to lobby. I also just got pulled from a game at the end after I was having a great game to be put into another lobby? Strict mode wasn't checked either

What's one snap?

One snap means pressing the snap button once.

Once your in a game that you are happy with and you want to stay in it - but disable the GeoFilter. Then you won't get booted afterwards and it also doesn't matter that the GeoFilter is disabled because you are already in the game. Just remember that usually you get booted because the host has moved outside the GeoFilter so it is possible that the next game will be laggy because the host is further away.

I never knew I could disable the Geo Filter to stay in a game that I liked or that lobby. Interesting. Anyway most of the times people leave because they can't handle the (Darth Vader voice): "Power of the R1!"

It will only keep you in the lobby if the reason for you getting booted is because the new host has moved outside the range of your GeoFilter :)

What are your stats in the game?  My Netduma has the hardest time finding matches on my 3kdr+ account and Netduma reports 'exceptional' for each criteria.  But when I go on a new account it's easy.  AW's matchmaking really screws with the game.   BO3 can't come soon enough!

A lot better! Just the only thing I get is NAT when I go into ps4 voice chat. I have to open distance filter to whole world to allow people than close to smallest part. Also do you have strict mode checked?

Do you notice any padlocks or something being blocked on the Geo-filter when the voice chat doesn't work?

What makes you think that BO3 won't have jacked up matchmaking, cuz I'm guessing it's gonna.Just as every other COD has had for the last 4-5 years.I hope they find a happy medium but past experience tells me,that's not gonna be the case.

I took a looked at the optimal settings and applied it, and I still lagged a lot. I've watched every YouTube video on the R1 to see and tips I could get, the only one that seemed to minimize the lag was to put the geo filter in the ocean and make it the smallest as possible with a 55 ping assist since my internet diagnostic says 30-32 ping. The only issue is that I can't play with players from west coast or even sometimes east coast because the filter is small and in the ocean and I get NAT issues going in voice chat unless I open geo filter to world before I go into chat room. Once I close it with friends it jumps me room to room. If I turn get filter off its like playing with any other router because AW match making sucks.

I've had one of my best games going 50kills- 18death in AW, got booted at the end before getting points to count. I set geo filter out in the Atlantic Ocean off of South Carolina, I've played 10 games and my assessment is 1 good lobby out of 10. I'm not the greatest player, have a K/D of 1.45 but when you go negative for majority of those games and you watch the kill cam and die like a disappearing act within 3 rounds and I shoot an enemy and get hit markers and it takes 20rounds from ASM1 to kill them, theirs something wrong with my set-up or I recieved a broken netdumar router from the start. I used the Asus router and played 10 games without R1 and I didn't notice a difference besides not dying as quickly and it took about same amount of rounds/time to kill someone. So miscellaneous settings I have upnp forwarding enabled, multicast snooping, and cookies checked. Is their suppose to be something special or anything else I'm suppose to do? LAN/WAN, DNS, MTU?

Just going off of this.  http://charlieintel.com/2015/04/26/black-ops-3-skill-based-matchmaking-to-be-similar-to-black-ops-2/ As far as jacked up matchmaking, that hasn't been the case for the majority of people until AW.  BO2 for a brief time had stronger skill based matchmaking but after outcries over it they lessened it greatly.

Edit:  Sorry for going off-topic on here, Trueseeker.

Officially unplugging the netdumar R1 to collect dust until update and Fixed! I don't know what the issue is, but putting my filter out in the ocean apparently wasn't it either. I look at my server ping and it's always jumping around for host. My internet is great though, smooth 60down, 6up. I use a Motorola surfboard for modem, I use a brand new ASUS RT-AC87R so I know it's not my internet. Just went type one NAT and went 22kills and 8death starting halfway through a game. Added my Asus router and I didn't notice random times where I couldn't get into a door or window cause the lag threw me out. I do believe I recieved a busted R1 or something wrong with software cause it's not working correctly.
