Aylinka
Hi support, I hope you can help me. I bought the R3 and appreciate the way it should elevate my gaming. However, i noticed after using it one week that the R3 causes a lot of in game stuttering. After checking the bufferbloat see a big difference compared to connection without it. With R3, there seems to be a bufferbloat. I see that on this site the grade is a B and in worst cases even lower. connection directly via my ISP, i see that (link) theĀ grade for bufferbloat is always an A. I have updated the software to the latest, did a factory reset after the update, tried with and without steady ping. Also with and without congestion. There is no difference. Anyone else noticed this and what could possible cause this? Thanks
TrayDay
Give this a go. As this thread is basically like a bufferbloat thread. Aylinka
Already tried this. Still laggy in game. Any other thoughts?Ā
DARKNESS
@AylinkaI mean looking at your buffer bloat test it doesn't seem like your using cc if you are then you need to set it to always and disable speed test bypass to get accurate results Nalsano_, titofuenla and Aylinka
Aylinka
Will try this tomorrow again. Appreciate your remark.Ā
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 22 Administrators Share Posted January 22 As above, Speed Test Bypass must be disabled, CC set to Always and I would suggest removing Priorities on SmartBOOST as well as they could interfere with the test. Aylinka
i added the TCP and UDP which helped to finally get an A+. It does suck to not have the ability i goes to have the full speed, but will play around. Thank you so much!! @Netduma Fraser @DARKNESS
Aylinka
Call of duty still has some lag at the moment. I disables smartboost but this still occurs when opponent are in front of me. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.Ā
DARKNESS
@AylinkaCould be related to the CPU issue at the moment not saying it is though you can try going lower on your congestion control.... To add when your playing call of duty does it show that it active under SmartBoost?
Aylinka
When there are enemies and busy areas. I do not have this without netduma. Also why do i need to lower conjection as i have 1gb speed. Already lowered it now to 75%. Note, i am always gaming wired.Ā Here is a clip.Ā VID-20240123-WA0000.mp4
Aylinka
Also replying to your remark yes it did show cod in smartboost as wel as in geo. After the lag i disabled it to see if it would help (per message above). No difference.Ā
DARKNESS
@AylinkaLooking at it yes I can see the lag and you can ignore my comment about the cc....I would check if the lag is caused by the network ISP just to isolate the issue as I did say it could be a CPU issue that users have reported of it causing spikes on there network is a possibility. This type of lag is often caused by the game server. Was Steady ping enabled? This can also be caused by congestion at peak time because the lines are shared upstream by the ISP and you will not be able to do anything about it apart from playing in a different time slot! I assure you nothing to do with the CPU... It just adds a ping increase of 4ms for some users!
Aylinka
@Fuzyyour remark doesn't make sense to me as without netduma + wired there is no lag in game. Thus i do think it is either conjestion or steady ping as steady ping also doesn't seem to work propeely. I hope that i find the solution otherwise i need to send this back to netduma as this is bad game experience to me and waste of effort and money on my end.Ā oldman66
Fuzy
Have you defined playing on a particular server in the geofilter? I avoid certain servers and I focus on the London server which gives me the best gaming experience.

So quick question, I followed this suggestion and finally got my bufferbloat test to A+ just at is was prior to using the R3. My question is when we activate smartboost it lowers my score so doesnāt this mean that smartboost is not working effectively? As in itās actually increasing our ping and lag significantly?Ā Iām quite tech savvy but this baffles me as itās supposed to help improve your gaming performance yet it seems a to be hindering it.Ā

That's all the test is checking. SmartBOOST is actively prioritizing your gaming, media etc so it's going against what the test is checking for, that's why we suggest disabling it for the test but you should then re-enable it after for the best experience. oldman66

Aylinka
weird that with R3 latency is al over the place. Without it (right š , wired directly via modem/router) no such thing. Is my device just broken? a RMA? @Netduma Fraser i only purchased this product to make sure that i am only connected to servers nearby (Geofencing) but dann it. I am disappointed as any product with its slogans should work out-of-the-box in my opinion. if you say it is my ISP then i am going to appeal for return of the product. Can't waste more time as it has been one week trying things out. Thank you for your understanding. Ā iOrcus
cljackhammer
@AylinkaIs that really your ISP. Clearly youāve shown that the R3 is the problem here. I suggest that Netduma start having working sessions with R3 purchasers experiencing these issues. It might help with reproducing the issues. @Netduma Frasercan you provide a list of what issues are being worked on?

I'd say it's probably not the CPU issue though it could be contributing to it, how have you setup your Congestion Control specifically? 2 hours ago, cljackhammer said: @AylinkaIs that really your ISP. I don't have a specific list of issues that are being actively worked on, there are a lot of devs all working on different things. This weeks update will be a decent sized one with fixes and improvements so should be much better. Disrek
