Just watched a video on YT where Beaman claimed that NetDuma / Nighthawk routers are able to be set up to trick Call of Duty into thinking your PC is a PS5 and is able to put into a PS5 only (non crosslpay) game.

this CANT be true…..

He is also continuously claiming that they are used to get bott lobbies.
again, unless I’m mistaken this is also incorrect.

any one clued up enough to set the record straight on this topic?

That's not true. You can set your device to be recognized for how the QOS will handle your device under 'Device Manager'. You can change the device type. If he doesn't show any proof that he's using the R2, for example, Geo-Filter. Then, they're just blowing hot air, and not showing concrete evidence in their claims.

NOT TRUE

@Satan1976That is obviously fake maybe in cold war or MW with they're infested bugs though that wouldn't be something that a router could do and it more to do with activision most likely having vulnerabilities which are exploited by users and it wouldn't be a surprise when there cheaters in all of there games and they claim that they're anti cheat system is sooooo gooodddd yeah maybe in heaven 😂

I hear him say that he 'knows how' to get into console lobby's with R2, and he doesn't want to show the method. As I did hear him mentioning 'changing icon'. As I stated earlier, this is possible to do in the Device Manager. BUT, it doesn't work as what he is stating regarding changing icon in COD.

Now, I will also state that he mentioned crossplay not entirely disabling, when turning it off. I haven't played COD in a while now, mainly APEX LEGENDS. But, it's ALWAYS been a thing to be able to get into console lobby's with certain methods from PC. Ever since crossplay was introduced, it's been a thing to be able to get into the lobby's just by certain methods.

Most recently, the game has been doing it by default(bug) and PC players has been getting into console lobby's. I bring this up, because, there's a loophole with being able to get into ALL console lobby's from PC in The Majority of crossplay games. Fortnite has made it VERY difficult for such an event and has yet to provide needed resources for other developers, given said resources to prevent such measures.

I say all this to say that, the loophole that many are finding into getting into COD lobby's is not due to using a Netduma Router, but providing a few tweaks to the PC client to be able to get into the console lobby's.

Now, if someone may have found a NEW method into getting into console lobby's using a Netduma, will be a MIND-BLOWN moment for me. But again, just 'changing icon' will not push you into console lobby's.

This guy is just talking BS.. probably trying to get views. If a PC player is getting into a console only match, it's something they are doing via their PC and not the R2 🤣

In one of the previous cods I played with crossplay off all the time but when looking into the parties I'd occasionally come across, it would show the PC symbol next to a players name. These people could have been exploiting a bug to play with their friends or maybe it was just a visual bug.

Crossplay off definitely works cause with it off I struggle to find matches. Once I switch it on I find one within a minute. In saying that I do see people in my matches aiming like they have KB&M but the game says their input device is a controller. Whether they're on PC or using a XIM, who knows.

People will always find a way to cheat and it sucks that Activision takes their sweet time to hand out bans (..if they even do). Earlier today I saw an obvious wallhacker in regular 6v6 pre aiming behind cover, he was over level 1000 and iridescent in ranked / diamond in wz ranked - sucks that subtle cheaters like these are running rampant with crossplay on and it's the only thing stopping me from building a gaming PC
