DUMA BOLTON
Which was is showing the correct information, The geo-filter or the in game connection metre ping? I have 10ms ping on the geo-filter but in game connection metre it’s showing a ping of 30+ I would Imagine the in game connection metre to be more accurate as it’s build in to game. Thoughts? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 10, 2022 Administrators Share Posted November 10, 2022 Both are accurate, simply put: Geo-Filter: Shows your ping direct to the server, anything on your side of the server essentially, including the server location, ISP routing, modem, router, QoS settings etc can affect this. In Game: Shows your ping direct to the server + processing delay - All games have processing delay but not all choose to include it in their ping calculation, CoD does. I would expect the in game ping to be 20-30ms higher than the Geo-Filter ping maximum. If the in game ping is 30+ ms higher than the Geo-Filter then it indicates the server is under heavy load (too many players online on the server bank), when this happens it's a good idea to try and force a different server. Even if the ping on (1) is higher, if (2) is lower overall than the previous server then you will have more stability and a better experience. kinel
I prefer to use the geo ping Because from what you said above im guessing you play on a120hz Diffrent hz adds more or less delay from my testing Ile show you how to do this yourself quickly I have no clue what console or pc you play on But you said you play on 10ms geo ping Still connect to a 10ms server your ingame ping should be around28ms to 32ms if your playing at 120hd Then whilst in the exact same game disable 120hz so it goes back to 60hz default You can do this in the ingame settings Your ping ingame should rise from 30ms to around 45ms around Try this and see for your self
