r2 Not giving me gig speed.

Hello all, I'm sure this has been talked about before, but here it is again.

Spectrum increased my speeds today from 400 download/20 upload to Gig download and 40 upload. So I am getting my 40 upload, but Only get about 650-750 download with the r2. If i connect my modem straight to my PC I get the gig download. So it's safe to say the problem comes from the r2.

I have my QOS at 100/100 and even clicked "never" as the option on QOS.

I have set my bandwidth speeds on the r2 to 1000 download and 40 upload. So I'm kind of lost here. Any thoughts?

Idk why but on any other router I get less speed than what I am paying for through cox ISP (gig internet) usually get 500-700 mbps and last time I tested my now newly functional r2 I was getting 400 mb/s download but this time I am getting 96 mb/s download. I’m also getting latency spikes to 300 with my upload speed test. No one else is on the internet right now. All my connections to even nearby warzone servers is unplayable as the ping on the Heatmap says around 50 but will be closer to 100 ping in game with huge frequent spikes. For some reason the closest server will not show up right now in the Heatmap. The only time I could play yesterday was after warzones most busy time (6-10 pm) and my ping went low and was able to find the closest servers until I got off early morning.

Could you please go to Device Manager and click the three-line menu in the top left of the device map. From here, switch to table view and send over a screenshot of the top table.

Also, are all devices on the network connected to the R2 or are some still going through your ISP modem/router?

So the device connected to port 3 is limited to 100Mbps, this is likely due to the ethernet cable so if you replace this the speed should increase for that device. Can you provide a screenshot of the QoS page as well please? What is the model of the modem/router the R2 is connected to?

Thanks for that, it looks like QoS is still enabled there and not disabled from the menu. You're on an old version as well so I'd recommend upgrading: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/38047-new-r2-firmware-30394/ then once upgraded (~5 mins after upload), perform a factory reset for a clean installation and see whether you have better speeds then please.

OK i will try that and see if it works. Can you tell me how to disable the wifi on the r2 again since im using my xr500 for wifi. Is it just toggling where it says enable 2.4 and 5hz?

Have you disabled QoS properly after the update to see if it is better?

As a test, re-enable QoS but make a Traffic Prioritization rule for the PC:

Source 1-65535
Destination 1-65535
Protocol TCP/UDP

also put the PC in the DMZ - just for the test then take it out. See what speeds you get with those two set please

So i made the traffic prioritization and for the dmz its just the toggle at the bottom of network settings >general network right? So i did toggle it on, but i am missing the last number for the dmz ip..

Having this exact issue. It hits 700-700 and that’s it

Yes that's right, so you need to put the IP in of the device you're using for the speed tests, you can check the IP in the Device Manager on the router

Ive had this issue before too with the same exact ISP. Nothing related to Netduma. I have a "gigabit package" too but that doesnt mean i get 1gbps i only get 600-700 Mbps. Spectrum hasnt upgraded any infrastructure at least in my area. They do use fiber but its not fiber to house fiber. Think they use copper coax too. I had a tech come out and he checked everything they said it looked good on their end. If i could get fiber i would though

Like I said in my other post.

my xr1000 hit 850/850(tri core 1.6ghz)

my RAX120 hit 940/940 (quadcore 2.2GHZCPU)

I thought cpu speed didn’t matter?

The R2 hits 700/700 which is good for the specs but duma promised GIG.

Idk if it’s firmware thing or what but I hope they find a solution :(

Well i hard wired modem to PC and did it and my speeds were in the 900s. So I know it cant be the ISP.

Do you have anything else on the R2 configured and applied to the device you're testing from? Geo-filter, Hybrid VPN, Adblocker, etc?

No, if i did i assume the hard reset would have cleared it. But ya even with the qos disabled it didnt make a diff. is there any success with users getting their full gig with the r2??
