Countries to VPN to

Hi,

 

Anyone else on the eu servers utilise a VPN and successfully play in other countries (south Africa/Brazil/Australia) and not get the server error message saying cannot connect to a data center. 

If you could share on thread or via DM what country you use to VPN to get on what country server l. I have a few that work that I will also share with anyone interested. 

I don't mind high ping would just like a few different lobbies time to time .

U can get Express VPN

Use the app and select India (VIA UK) 

Will remove SBMM and give you good ping

The ExpressVPN app you mean? So we cannot do what you said on console unless there is a India via UK openvpn config?

You can download the OpenVPN configuration files from them and then use that with the Advanced Setup on HybridVPN to apply it to the console

south Africa and 1 out of two of the Brazil servers are locked, unless your on their network, no way to connect to those 2

I have expressVPN.

I play from Europe (Vanguard MP only, not BR) and I decided to give South Africa a try.

After a 3-5 minutes wait, I was assigned to a South Africa TDM lobby (other modes took much longer).

To my surprise the lobbies were 80% populated,  with low rank players and when I say low I mean rank 2 to rank 50 or something...

It's impossible to find ranks this low in a random Europe/US  lobby and I cannot tell how VPN gives me such a low rank players lobby (probably the matchmaking algorithm).

But the ping was awful (above 300ms). 

As the game was in progress I felt like if I had a ping less than 100, the game would be an easy Nuke.

If you want, I can upload clips of how the game with VPN in such a remote (to me) region,  looks like.

So the way I see it is: whatever you "earn" from inexperienced players, you lose it because of high latency . 

Now for Warzone, where the areas are vast, you probably have an edge over inexperienced players because latency is less significant. 

But in close combat maps (like Shipment/Das Haus) , even a rookie will get you easily if you are constantly half a second behind.

I use this method with express VPN, I am from the UK. I set my VPN location in Germany and then geo filter over to the UK, ping comes in at 45-50 and games are perfect.

I am going to test other areas like spain and see if I can tweak it better, I cant help it HAHA.

Most of my deaths are now being shot in the back due to the broken spawns.

thanks for the replies. i have been inactive for a while. 

 

i also use express vpn but if i try to connect to SA or brazil servers it simply will not find a game (warzone) multi player ping is waaaay to high in my opinion to be enjoyable even at 120 ping in the states.

 

west coast servers in the states seem to be very high ranked players and the miami server is also full of sweats.

 

EU lobbies seem to be consistently higher kd lobbies. hence why the search for different countries is on my to do list.

would you not be better off staying as UK as your location or do you get higher ping that way?

its worth while changing to Germany for the main server ?

People aren't very keen on giving out that kind of information. Don't expect to come into the forum and be expected and provided a way to get bot lobbies. Obviously if everyone talked about it... it wouldn't be that much of a secret. Good luck though.

Hi zman , I have owned the r1 for years before using it for a vpn and recently upgraded to the r2 to when I joined the forum and wanted to mess around with the different features. 

 

if anyone has had success and doesnt want to display it publicly i would greatly appreciate a private message to play around with.

So let me get this straight.

You are from UK, you  change location to whatever and then get back to UK to find a game? I do not understand this:)

I was thinking you change your location and you play there with higher ping.

Another question. Are you VPN all of your traffic or only COD TCP UDP ports?

Please let me know cause maybe i dont know how to do it:) or how this works:)

It's much harder to get it on the 300 but we are working on trying to get that done yes
