JoseG
Hi, I’m trying to setup nolagvpn on my netduma r2. Has anyone successfully done this and if so, can you please help me? Because I’ve been following the instructions on the nolagvpn website but every time I click “connect” on the hybrid vpn setup is doesn’t work. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 3, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 3, 2021 Hey, welcome to the forum! Can you provide a link to the instructions and the config file you're using? Are they using OpenVPN?
JoseG
Hi! Here’s a pic of the instructions. Also, it seems like they do use open vpn. I’m just not sure if I’m doing it right. For example, if I open the program it looks like this(I’ll attach photos).
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 3, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 3, 2021 Have you downloaded the configuration file and put that in the Hybrid VPN? You don’t need to use the app so if you have it connected disconnect and try HybridVPN again
JoseG
I have. I just copied and pasted everything in the pic. I’ll try doing it without being connected thru the program and keep you posted.
JoseG
So I tried connecting without being connected on nolagvpn’s end but it still didn’t work.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 5, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 5, 2021 Could you clarify, do you mean you copied everything from that log and put it in HybridVPN? If so that's not the configuration file, it says you have a .ovpn file, can you paste that here/try that first?
JoseG
Yes, I’ve been copying and pasting what’s in the log file from the 2nd to last pic I uploaded here. So, if that’s not the configuration file I need, I’m unclear as to where to find it so I can copy and paste it into hybrid vpn.

You'll need to get an OpenVPN config file from NoLag VPN, copy the entire contents of the file into the configuration box on Hybrid VPN. JoseG
Thanks for sending it up, I did get response. So my issue is with the wifi. Sometimes webpages on my devices such as our phones load slowly and certain apps don’t load at all unless I turn wifi off. I really like the router and would like to keep it but these issues are kinda troublesome. I attached a couple photos with examples of what I’m experiencing. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 15, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 15, 2021 Are you using Mirror mode for WiFi? If so disable that, give 2.4/5GHz different names, apply, then reboot the router from the interface and wait 2 minutes before connecting or accessing then connect manually to 2.4GHz or 5GHz and see whether it appears more stable. JoseG
I’ll give that a try and let you know. Thanks!
JoseG
So I tried what you suggested and I also changed the channels for both 2.4 and 5ghz frequencies but I’m still getting the same issues for some reason.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 15, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 15, 2021 Do you have any electrical/wireless devices in close proximity to the router?
Forrestbear
Do you have Adblocker turned on? I had issues accessing a lot of websites with it turned on, so I turned it off on specific devices and have no issues.
JoseG
I don't have ad blocker on. The router is sitting behind my monitor with the wires going behind my desk down to the surge protector.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 15, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 15, 2021 You said devices such as your phones are having the issue, are they all iOS devices by any chance? Any others? If they are all iOS, tap the i icon next to the R2 network on the iOS WiFi settings, then disable Private Addresses. Then disconnect from the WiFi, forget the network and reconnect to it and see if it is any better.
JoseG
I just tried that but I'm getting the same issue
Netduma Liam
If you completely disable QoS from the three-line menu in Congestion Control, are the devices then able to access web pages? It's possibly your QoS settings are a touch too aggressive and we need to fine tune it.
JoseG
So I've disabled QoS and so far I have been able to use the apps successfully. I had "gaming" under download at 75% and "livestream" under upload at 75% since I stream daily on twitch. What do you suggest I have these set to if anything? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 16, 2021 Okay interesting and what are Congestion Control and Traffic Prioritization set to? That should be fine for the moment but we may need to try with them completely reset.
