  1. Hi, I’m trying to setup nolagvpn on my netduma r2. Has anyone successfully done this and if so, can you please help me? Because I’ve been following the instructions on the nolagvpn website but every time I click “connect” on the hybrid vpn setup is doesn’t work.
  2. I seem to be having problems with my geofilter not working. I am playing Warzone on an Xbox series X console and I recently subscribed to HMA and set up my hybrid vpn in hopes of using my geofilter to play on different servers around the world. The geofilter used to work to limit my connection radius but it seems that now it isn’t even doing that. I have tried to change my location and find a match (Uk, Spain, India, South Africa) seems that it still connects me to my usual server in Los Angles. Hoping someone has some insight on settings I may be missing. Thanks
  3. Good Day Netduma Army, when I have an issue with sorting something out you guys always seem to give the best advice. I live in the U.S and I recently purchased NordVPN for about $10 a month with the hopes of watching Netflix with my girlfriend who lives in Canada. I set up the Hybrid VPN on the Netduma and everything seemed to go well. I got my Canadian server hooked up and I'm ready to go. However, when I go to watch something a notice comes up stating, "You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy. please turn off any of these services and try again. For more help, visit netflix.com/proxy." Does anybody have any ideas on how to bypass this so I can go ahead and watch some Canadian Netflix?
  4. Hello, First time posting here, looking for some help configuring the VPN traffic to exclude my plex server. I've added the ports as shown in the picture but it's not working. Not sure what I'm missing. The ports I've added to the exception are defined by the docker on my unraid server. Feel free to ask me for more info! Thanks!
  5. Basically a VPN filters the location and maybe the connection. The results are another location with another IP and a slow connection right? So how it works this Hybrid VPN? What i'm interested to know if it filters the connection resulting more slow than normal and if yes, how can i improve it? Does the QoS useful in this case?
  6. Hi team, I've been using the XR500 router for a few years now and I haven't had any major issues. I recently switched my VPN provider to Proton VPN, and I wanted to use the Hybrid VPN feature on the XR500 (V2.3.2.114). Although hybrid VPN works, I'm seeing a large decrease in internet connection speed. I also am unable to connect to certain streaming services, such as Amazon Prime Video. A similar issue occured with my old VPN provider, but I did not think the router was the cause at the time. Please find screenshots below. Internet Speed without VPN: Streaming works Speed as expected Internet Speed using Proton VPN Windows 10 app: Streaming works Speed as expected When using the Proton VPN Windows 10 application, the speed doesn't fluctuate as much and I am still able to access streaming services. Internet Speed using Hybrid VPN (Proton OpenVPN config attached): Streaming does not work Speed is heavily reduced For reference, the Proton VPN server I am using has the following settings: UK Server London #44 (Plus server, so guaranteed to allow streaming) UDP connection Please let me know if I can post the Hybrid VPN log, as I'm not sure if this contains identifiable information. I would be grateful if you could help me resolve this issue, I'm keen to use the Hybrid VPN feature as intended! Thanks, Addy uk-44.protonvpn.com.udp.ovpn
  7. I'm having some trouble with the Hybrid VPN, i use PureVPN. each time i try and connect to any server using ( Protocol UDP ) it gets stuck in a loop displaying Connecting... and doesn't actually connect. it was working up until i had to swap my modem out because the modem died, here's what comes up in the log: Thu Dec 31 13:25:01 2020 OpenVPN 2.4.7 mipsel-openwrt-linux-gnu [SSL (OpenSSL)] [LZO] [LZ4] [EPOLL] [MH/PKTINFO] [AEAD] Thu Dec 31 13:25:01 2020 library versions: OpenSSL 1.0.2p 14 Aug 2018, LZO 2.10 Thu Dec 31 13:25:01 2020 WARNING: No server certificate verification method has been enabled. 8. I just got.a Netgear Nighthawk xr 500 and I was trying to connect the router to my vpn server, but it keeps failing. I know the config file I am trying to use is working because I can connect my computer with the config file. 9. I received my new XR1000 yesterday. I went through setup using Nighthawk iOS app. After setup (included the steps for firmware update to 1.0.0.44_1.0.33) and wifi working, I went to the router login web interface to review the other settings, immediately noticed I had the R-app not loading issue discussed in other forum posts. (Note: At that time I also notice the hybrid VPN option not available on the right menu options. ) So, I did a factory reset and came back with the r-app issue resolved. However, the hybrid VPN still remains missing?! I read my documentation and it is a feature that is supposed to be available with the XR1000. I really need that feature. (What is the url for hybridvpn in the browser (...netdumassoftware.???), perhaps it isn’t in the menu but still accessible) Or is this a feature NETGEAR is silently removing from the DumasOS? I saw one post mention it wasn’t a feature, but documentation from NETGEAR show it in the specs. Help! I need to know if this is a bug or I need to return product for missing an important feature. Thanks in advance!
  10. OS: Widows 10 Pro (1909) Model: NETGEAR XR5000 Firmware: V2.3.2.56 DumaOS Name: A7Legit Error: /dumaos/apps/usr/com.netdumasoftware.hybridvpn/openvpn-event.lua openvpndown 3 tun0 1500 1553 10.2.2.105 255.255.255.0 init openvpn-event.lua: bad argument #3 to 'format' (string expected, got nil) Comments: I've started to have issues with my hybrid vpn setup. I am using an OpenVPN configuration file from VyprVPN. The VPN connects fine once I enter the the configuration details, so it's not an authentication issue. The VyprVPN dashboard also shows connected with an active connection, can I can verify the VPN traffic with my VPN provider as connected and active. However after a couple of hours the Hybrid VPN shows that it has failed to connect. I can disable/enable the VPN and then it shows a successful connection again, but after a couple of hours it shows disconnected again. I checked the Hybrid VPN logs (attached) and it ends with a fatal error after a warning. Thanks, Mike; BIGPOPPPAVFX_HybridVPN_Logs_08142020.txt
  11. Hi dear NetDuma team, All these tests were done against an XR500 running last official version of NetDuma software (V2.3.2.56). Here I come again... I have tested hybrid VPN in the following configuration: - Direct Wifi connection to my XR500 and here, everything works - Connection to a relay wifi on my extender and hybrid VPN does not work (I waited long enough to ensure the new IP for my PC was registered correctly in the device manager) - Ethernet connection to the extender and here same thing, Hybrid VPN does not work (same as above). The only difference is, when going through the extender the mac addresses are re-written as the extender acts as a proxy. The extender is the Netgear Nighthawk EX7700 and there is no choice on proxy or not proxy when it comes to configuration. I have already experienced the same behaviour with geofiltering. Now maybe you can try to convince NetGear to change their software on the EX7700 so that it allows the MAC addresses not to be rewritten. I am not expecting any fix on the current software, but I do hope that netduma 3.0 has been tested with re-written mac addresses, once again happy to test 3.0, I have already registered myself with Netgear but so far nothing. So it looks like that for some reasons, as soon as any of my devices goes through an extender (netgear, tp-link,...) none of the useful features are working. I was almost about to get an R2 just to make sure to get my hands on V3 but if this type of configuration hasn't been tested then there is no reasons for me to get 3.0 at all and I am fairly confident that I am not the only one using a Netduma based router with an extender to relay the wifi (as not everyone has their houses/flat fully wired in cat 6 and/or the wifi signal strong enough to go everywhere). Best regards, FX.
  12. I have been trying to get this feature to work ever since I bought my XR 500 and to no avail. I have followed the instructions to a "T" and can't get it to work. I use NordVpn and I am using the advanced setup buy putting my login details and the Nord OpenVPN setup config. Down below I will send the logs and a picture of the dashboard VPN SETUP LOG.txt
  13. I had installed private internet access “PIA” with a laptop months ago. For whatever reason connection fails now. I don’t have no computer at the moment but I’m on iPhone. I can go to hybrid vpn section advanced enter username and password but can’t paste the pia openvpn configuration file. Has anyone ever setup hybrid vpn through iPhone????
  14. I've been trying to setup hybridvpn using the surfshark openvpn files, but the connection always fails. I contacted the people over at surfshark and they told me the R1 does not support openvpn client just openvpn server, is this true? What's confusing me is I have read on this forum about people who have successfully set this up.
  15. I have been using this VPN client for a while. Can I use it within the hybrid VPN built in to the xr500?
  16. I did the router firmware upgrade to my XR500 this evening and successfully connected my PureVPN account to the Hybrid VPN module. No issues there! When I put my laptop on there and hit whatsmyip.com, I got my regular IP address back, I was expecting to see the same IP that's displayed in the log output window. Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong? I'd be happy to provide any logs/screenshots necessary for triage. Thank you very much in advance!
  17. Hey Folks, Anyone know which configuration file I am suppose to copy in the advanced section of VPN Setup for Privateinternetaccess? https://www.privateinternetaccess.com Do I really need to sign up for one of the 2 providers that are available under basic or can I use PIA? Thanks!
  18. I recently bought an XR500 and after following the community for a few weeks, I see that hybrid VPN is still waiting to be greenlit by Netgear. Do you have an ETA on the hybrid VPN feature, or at least a beta version that is planned to be released? If so, how can users partake in a beta (e.g. replying to a forum post)?
