EspiritDeCorps
Hello, Can you please help me how to set up my Wifi, I just connected my phone to r2's wifi by default ( just simply write it's password with no additional settings ) and I have low connection to mobile apps, most of the time I have to wait a lot in loading session for some apps ( in my case online food apps / instagram / linkedIn ) - with mobile data I go instantly. Thank you !
Newfie
Turn off the mirror mode and rename the 2 channels and then try to connect to the 5 Ghz channel. I would keep the 2.4ghz to 20Mhz bandwidth and 80Mhz for the 5Ghz.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 6, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 6, 2021 I would recommend exactly what has been stated above. Also with the antennae set them out like this _ | | _ to two facing upwards, and one either side pointing outwards. EspiritDeCorps
I did what you guys said, it worked perfectly, but only for one week. Now it feels the same, low connection
Newfie
Have you scanned The neighbouring channels to see if they are interfering and has anything new been added i.e. Bluetooth devices or any electrical equipment? Are you connecting on the 5 GHz channel and you are seeing a drop on this?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 16, 2021 Great advice above, it won't have degraded without a change to your setup or the neighboring WiFi
EspiritDeCorps
it's right next to the internet provider router, I connected to the other router and works perfectly fine. I don t know what would be the reason to have such low connection on r2 ( on smartphone ). and yes, i m using the 5ghz channel. If you want me to attach some screenshots from `dumaos/` settings just tell me
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 16, 2021 I would recommend you move the R2 away from the ISP router if possible or better would be to disable the ISP router WiFi as they could interfere with each other
EspiritDeCorps
I disabled the ISP router wifi, nothing changed
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 16, 2021 Do you have any other wireless/electrical devices in close proximity to the router?

EspiritDeCorps
why would this be a problem, the isp wifi works perfectly fine and it's right next to them

This includes cables too.
EspiritDeCorps
I m not using bluetooth and my phone is the only device connected to r2's wifi. So the only option is to distance the r2 from the isp and other electrical devices as far as possible ?
Newfie
It’s worth trying, mov it away and test. If that fails we can see what else is the problem. Worth checking a WiFi analyser too to see if there’s an issue.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 18, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 18, 2021 Disable the 2.4GHz WiFi, apply, wait 2 minutes, then re-enable and apply, is it any better then? I'd usually recommend doing this with a reboot but as 5GHz is fine I think we should see whether it improves without it first.
EspiritDeCorps
I disabled / enabled 2.4GHz, and after I pressed Reboot, router lost connection. I ve waited 20min and still doesen t connect. I can t even open dumaos/... i plugged/replugged the power supply and it s still dead. It connects for 3-4 sec (wired) and then boom, losts connection and its doing this over and over again. The 2.4ghz / 5ghz are not flashing @Netduma Fraser
EspiritDeCorps
*update: I pressed factory reset, manually ( ~30sec ) and now I only have wired connection, I cannot access the interface anymore ( dumaos/ )
EspiritDeCorps
*update - I unplugged / plugged the power supply and, again, lost connection - manually reset 30 sec and I m back with wired connection and no interface access ( dumaos/ )
Netduma Liam
Are you able to access the interface if you go to 192.168.77.1 in your browser? Are you still getting an IP address from the R2?
