Got my R2 this afternoon, managed to get a wired connection going fine.

Gone to get wifi going and  im getting an exclamation mark on them and "no internet connection" error

probably missed something really easy but - anyone offer a quick fix?

toggled 2.4/5.0 mirror on/off, tried them both independently, changed the channels they were sat on, changed encryption type, rebooted the modem, cant seem to get anywhere!

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Where are you seeing the exclamation mark - on the device you're trying to connect wirelessly?

Have you connected the antennae to the router? Try this: disable the WiFi completely, apply, reboot then enable it, apply, reboot and see if it works please.

I have a similar issue. My main PC is wired and that works nicely. I was able to connect my mobile phone and macbook to the network but I cant access the default gateway address from these two devices. I was unable to connect my samsung smart tv and chromecast to the R2. With the tv and ccast it gives me a connection error right away. :(

Edit: I tried the suggested reboot sequence. Still issues.

Iv run that through a couple of times Fraser, no joy im afraid. Although the exclamation mark does go away, im not getting any data to my device (airplane mode on, wifi on connected to R2)

Just to confirm, i disabled wifi, saved and rebooted r2, re-enabled wifi saved and rebooted r2.

Had a quick look through my R1 wireless settings, only difference is encryption WPA-PSK and channel number.

Thank you both for the information. Try the above suggestion but could you also try seeing if you can gain a connection using the guest WiFi? Also on the specific devices you're using are they set to use automatic network settings or have you set manual settings on them previously?

@wrighty338 Can I ask which country you're based as well? As different countries have different channels available to them. That could be part of the issue. If you haven't fixed it by tomorrow I'll go back in the office and personally assist you with the issue :)

Iv attempted changing both 2.4 & 5ghz channels, applying settings, rebooting, and this didnt change anything

Iv setup a guest network with a different name and password and i get the same exclamation mark over the wifi symbol and "no internet connection" error

Phone is set to automatically assign  IP/subnet mask/router - i just turn on wifi put in a password and away it goes usually

No biggy, My trusty R1 is right here

@Netduma Iain England :) iv tried a few channels - unless there is a specific channel you want me to try im happy to stay on my R1 this weekend

Thank you for the information. Could you try this please and if that doesn't work Iain can take a look tomorrow.

Disable Mirror settings and for the 2.4GHz set channel 1 and apply please, then for 5GHz set channel 36 and apply please. On your devices 'forget' the WiFI connection and then attempt to reconnect again with the password.

I think I managed to fix it. I retraced all my steps of the settings I had changed (Geo-Filter, QoS etc.) all the way to the beginning. I tried setting the default values for my network speeds 1000 down / 1000 up (in the beginning I ran the automatic test for the speeds) and after this change the issue was fixed.

Don't know if this is just luck but hey give it a shot @wrighty338 if it works for you as well.

Well done for fixing it. That’s a weird workaround though. Did you do anything else during that process? E.g. factory reset?

Would be great if you could try this too @wrighty338 and let us know if it works.

Hi all

Fraser - i tried that - didnt work either

I retraced my steps like @jayjrlz suggested, i had initially turned off QOS under congestion control as i just wanted to get up & running. Turning QOS back on has allowed me to get connections to my wireless devices - is this intentional? I can turn off QOS on my R1 and not lose wifi connectivity.

Saved me a few more minutes doing a factory reset anyway!

I may have spoken too soon. I did a factory reset yes (actually the first thing I did) but after this the issue still persisted. I took QoS completely off while troubleshooting this more (adding speeds automatically) and it can actually be that one as well. @wrighty338 Is your QoS completely turned off?

Edit: A bit late :D good thing we now know whats causing it.

That's really strange, if anything disabling QoS would have helped with that issue. Thank you very much for figuring that out, I will let Iain know so he is prepared for this tomorrow as that's definitely something we're keen to get to the bottom of and fix ASAP.

Sorry just to clarify, are you able to connect wireless devices after disabling QoS?

I'll try my best to clarify. Bear with me since English is not my first language. :D

With QoS off I'm able to connect with my mobile & laptop but I cannot access the router's login page. My TV and chromecast cannot connect at all.

With QoS on I can add all the devices -> if I switch Qos off while these devices are already connected some of them still keep the connection running (TV). If I disconnect the TV and try to connect back -> it's not possible until I turn QoS back on. Chromecast's connection is lost as soon as it restarts.

Could you both share screenshots of your settings page (when on the wireless tab) and also your QoS page please?

wifi.thumb.png.f8ce0afda11a586800754c177a3d53dd.png

Disabled the mirroring and renamed the 5 GHz SSID, new password for both networks. 2.4Ghz settings similar.

qos.thumb.png.3cd2e13fc14b49f7e42435079cb23f0d.png

All default here. Speeds set automatically.

The router is working fine now with these settings. Problems begin when I check the box for 'Disable QoS'.

Thanks for the information, in Settings > LAN > General and Settings > WAN > General could you disable IPv6 in both places please and see if you can establish a connection with WiFi when QoS is both enabled and disabled?
