connection line question

I just moved into a new house a few days ago and go all new lines put in and i was wondering if this ping plotter graph is showing a stable connection for online gaming CoD Destiny exc

your line looks pretty stable apart from 2 small spikes and then your ping jumps up 5ms or so and stays at that level. Do you have a dsl connection? If you do then avoid turning your modem off and on.

Glad that its stable and no im still with the same isp that is cable connection anything i should do to fix it from jumping or is that just something it will do iv never had it go past 30

avoid reboots of the modem, that can cause you issues. That's why it is best to have a modem and routerrather than a combo. A Modem should never or very rarely need a reboot!

Okay thanks for the advice on that i rarely reboot the modem. If i ever do its because the internet anit coming in or something of the mater.

Its around a week now and iv felt like my connection has been really bad the past few days so i just did a ping plotter test and got this graph. Can anyone telll me if they see anything that i can try to explain to my ISP to have them fix the spikes?

I have all new cat 7 cords they are STP if that might be doing anything and its Cable ISP also.

Because it is spiking hard then drops to normal at 4:30am to 7am that might be ISP congestion or your family were using the network and you have not got congestion control set up correctly.

It is one or the other.

im the only one whats up at this time how would i set up the congestion then I have it at 70/70 if that helps you. Im going to call up my isp and have them check everything out too

You will have done this but just checking the tick boxes so to speak.

Were you downloading / streaming at these times?

Were you downloading on your console that is enabled in traffic priority?

Have you entered your line tested speeds into the congestion control and selected always? (DumaOS)

I think i turns out there was downloads going on while my ps4 was in rest mode I believe. Might of been the reason of all the spikes. And i have my speeds in from a test with the modem only connected and its set to always.

Do some more tests with your PS4 off and I am sure you will find they will be ok if that is the case.

yea it seems to be more stable little jumps here and there seems good enough. Also i was wonder if getting a lower speed like back down to 200 instead of the 300 i have now what do anything?

From the same ISP a downgrade is not likely to change the routing so no change to jitter would be expected.

Alright thanks kind of sucks this is the only isp that has speeds up 1000 besides at&t that only lets me have 10 download that is DSL. I think dsl is better for gaming right i think it does FIBER/DSL/CABLE/SATELLITE something like that i could be wrong and it all just luck of where you live.

I would not worry at all, going off your original plot you have a good low jitter connection.

Aright thanks for the help as long as its stable enough thats good for me i only play on the dallas server anyways and i get a ping of about 20. If anything else comes about ill reply back on this post with the problem.

Blops4 has a sync issue where one team all go really positive and the other goes all negative in most matches, it is very rare to have a balanced game,

So I would not judge your connection on cod.

All cods have a sync issue but this one takes the top prize, when you are ahead it feels like your playing recruit bots then the next game it feels like your playing MLG sweat pros, then when you loose it puts you ahead of sync again.

The key is If your on the winning team back out after it ends as the sync will do you next game.

Wow thats messed up good looking out ill start doing that more often.  i do tend to get the same lobbies because im only connecting to that server but ill try backing out after every match.

It may be a UK sync thing, but all my team mates see the same issue as me.

Happens less when playing solo.

I tend to play solo more than with others especially when mercenary playlist is around ill play a few games later today and see how it is backing out after every game.

okay i just had a tech come out again and this time i had them change every line and its so much better than before theres a little hipcups here and there but its great

im playing some black ops 4 right now and i have it set to only be on the dallas server i was getting 25-30 ping on it now its 10-15 ping my shots feel more crisp too
