Saaa
Hi, I'm encountering a few issues while i'm trying to use my R1. When i bought it nearly 2 months ago it was working properly, untill after a few days i had no upload speed. I needed to to 4, 5, sometimes more reboots to get it running again. This happens every couple days and i have to do the reboots again... Right now i have the idea that the host filtering and the congestion control aren't doing their job anymore. I get connected to players with yellow or red connection bars immediatly, a while ago it could take 5min or more to find a game... Whatever i do with the congestion control, it will allways give me the same down and upload speeds. Could it be that my R1 is defective or that the software is corrupted? Is it possible to reinstall the software? Kind regards
BIG__DOG
yes, you can reinstall the software http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=manual_update . Before doing that and doing reboots try a factory reset by using the pinhole at the rear of the R1 rather than the gui button in the browser. You should see the lights change and the router will make a 'beep' sound indicating that the reset was successful. I've never heard of the Geo-Filter breaking over time, so that one we can probably solve right now. If you set your Distance to 1000km, your Ping Assist to 0ms and turn on Strict Mode, do you then connect to only hosts within your radius? If the game is taking ages to connect you, it could be a NAT issue. Try running a network test on your console and see what your NAT type is. For your speeds, try these settings: - If less than 50mbps, Pre-emptive Algorithm. If more, Reactive Algorithm - 100% anti-flood - Put your device in Hyper Traffic (in Congestion Control) - Share excess enabled - Reset device prioritisation & apply - Enable UPnP and remove any Port Forwarding rules - Disable deep packet in misc - Disable IPv6 in misc, LAN and WAN - Enable turbo mode if over 120mbps - Enable super turbo mode if over 300mbps - Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds. - Do an Internet Diagnosis test

I've read about it in other topics but they didn't work. I've done so many factory resets and reboots, adjusting settings. I just feel like something is corrupted. I'm gonna try to reinstall the software and see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
Saaa
Just tried a factory reset with the RES button, doesn't work, i'm pretty sure i pressed it longer than 30sec. going to try to reinstall, i hope i won't brick the router...

Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted February 9, 2018 Netduma Staff Share Posted February 9, 2018 Upgrade failed, firmware is already installed. Getting a little bit frustrated now. Any suggestions? Don't worry - if it is proven that your router has malfunctioned, you are within warranty. I believe this could still be solved though. Try upgrading to 1.03.6j using the instructions found here: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/11018-major-netduma-upgrade-now-available-v-1036j/, and also please take a look at this guide and provide the screenshots requested in it: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022425-lag-support-instructions-to-post-on-the-forum-

My devices are connected with a wire. I connected to a game of COD WW2, this game was played by me and 11 other players. On the geo-filter map you can see there are only 2 potential host. On the ping graph there are the ping results of 4 other players, i'm a little confused here... During this game the bars were green but i've had yellow and red bars from players outside the "radius". In theory i have a 100/10 internet connection, my actual speeds are 90/9 download/upload As you can see on the CC screenshot my device prioritisation is set at 50/50 so my upload speed should be between 4mbps and 5mbps. Here are 2 screenshots of speedtests, they were made wright after eachother showing not the results there should be. http://forum.netduma.com/uploads/images/1518204117-U25700.jpg http://forum.netduma.com/uploads/images/1518204330-U25700.jpg i hope you guys know what's going on... The reason you are seeing higher speeds with device prioritisation set like that is because of share excess. Share excess makes sure that if a device has been allocated an amount, say 50% but it is only using 10%, then other devices will be able to use that bandwidth unless the device which it is allocated to needs it. If you wanted each device to have 50% of your bandwidth you would have to disable share excess. This is not recommended. A better solution would be to reset device prio and set your congestion control sliders to 70/70. This will eliminate any local congestion on your network. As for your geofilter, you are connected to a dedicated server (it is incorrectly located on the map and has been found by ping assist) sometimes all players do not show on the map when you are connected to a dedicated server. The 'peer ping' bars are only for P2P games, they don't work very well for dedicated servers. The geofilter does not stop players with outside the radius from joining the server/host you are connected to, it only filters what server/host you connect to. What about my upload speed that suddenly drops after a few days. I'm searching for a solution for this since i bought the R1 2 months ago, the only thing that works is to reboot/factory reset mutiple times... What could be conflicting? pollutionblues
Reset distribution on both upload and download in device prio and see if that stops your upload speed dropping, make sure your Congestion Control sliders are both set to 100% when you run any speed tests (from a wired PC) and that no other devices are using upload at the time of the test, you can check if anything is using bandwidth in the Network Monitor. If your upload speed drops again can you connect directly to your modem and test the speed again to rule out your ISP being at fault.

I already tested this, when i connect to my modem my speeds are normal 90/9 download/upload. I've never had this issue untill i connected the R1 so something is going wrong but i can't figure it out. What device are you using to test? It’s very strange that your upload speed would drop after a few days but don’t worry, the Netduma team will get your issue sorted one way or another.
