scbba
is there a way we can choose not to play on dedicated servers? Since they reinstated the dedis my connection has went to crap again im lagging bullets not hitting where they should. in geo filter I have 450 mile radius with strict mode ticked with a ping on 40 ms and I am still being put in lobbies over 800 miles away. If you have ping assist at 40ms, that's why you're being put on lobbies outside your radius. Set ping assist to 0, leave strict mode ticked, and you'll only get local servers or hosts. It's very difficult to force dedicated servers if they are available due to the game code. There's no reason why they should play any worse if the ping is okay however. What's your ping to the game? scbba
Ping to the server? Or what do you mean? Ping to the server? Or what do you mean? Dedis are anywhere from 30 to 50 ms and plays like it's 100ms ping most of the time 2 clips don't kill them and p2p I get 30 down to 10ms and I run through them 8 out of 10 games 2.0 or higher kd
ltr7
I think it has to do with the lag comp on dedis, it seems to to be trying to sync players from way to far with extremely different quality's of internet. When you get p2p the game is looking for purely ping quality for matchmaking. Also it probably doesn't help that Activision is to cheap to purchase their own servers and there is way to few of them here in the states, and in my opinion any company making billions every year on digital DLC content alone has the responsibility to have a much stronger infrastructure for its customers. It's a total slap in the face to all of us gamers. I have changed isp providers, tried several different routers, had my current isp line check my drop numerous times but after just one weekend of local p2p I realized it was all down to the last four or five titles all playing on the same broken servers. It's almost criminal how we are being treated when it comes to the online play.
scbba
Yea I was thinking the same thing I'm going to try the solution above when inter home and see if I can get any p2p games. Imo here in the state's we could pull off p2p will do good with the quality of net we have Here is what it does when I have ping assist off and strict mode enabled I get put into a 3k plus mile dedi with my geo set to 300 what causes this? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 19, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 19, 2017 Your Geo-filter is not enabled for your device, thats why you're getting games outside your radus

Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted December 12, 2017 Netduma Staff Share Posted December 12, 2017 yea I turn it off until I get the game loaded up and then turn it on for nat reasons Ah right. So with the Geo-Filter enabled it functions correctly? We do recommend to only enable it when the game is loaded so you're doing the right thing. scbba
Not really I have it set to 430 miles to keep me off that dreaded NJ server and I still get put into it but I have played around with it and instead of getting put on it every game I have it down to about every 5 games which is ok its expected to have a bad game every now and again. I'll keep tweaking and see what happens in the next few weeks.

Let us know how it goes
PharmDawgg
Just throwing out another option here but you could also matchmake with just the ping. Take the geofilter radius out of the picture. Decrease your radius to zero and set the ping assist to your base ping +10 and see what kind of games you get. Oh yeah place your home location somewhere it won't cause you to get placed in a game because of the geofilter radius (i.e. the ocean). Example below. You ping assist may not be the same but you can test and see what plays best for you.
